Used 1998 Eclipse.  Low miles for its age!  Clear title!  It's a fully custom car that just needs THE RIGHT PERSON TO FINISH IT!  IT RUNS AND DRIVES, BUT NEEDS WORK TO BE ROAD READY ON A DAILY BASIS!  I no longer have the time to work on it, as my family is growing and I'm a returning college student.  I purchased the car in 1999 when it was a year old and it has always been garage-kept.  Custom work that has been completed: fully shaved body (handles, roof lines, hood squirters, antenna, and spoiler), Toyota Supra taillight conversion, fully adjustable air ride suspension.  10 switches featuring front, back, side-side, pancake, see-saw, and dog-leg 3 wheel.  Battle Z front and rear bumper kitI have new parts that come with the car as well:  4 brand new (in box) air cylinders, full Energy Suspension polyurethane bushing kit (new, in box), polished header with down-tube and flex pipe, 2 brand new (in cardboard box) 12" Audiobahn subs with chrome, flamed basket.  Again, this car is NOT currently in a daily-drivable state.  It needs to go to SOMEONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO BUILD CUSTOM CARS and is looking for a project car that already has a GREAT START.  Purchaser must retrieve the car.  I live in Spring, Tx, and a trailer will be required (after successful transfer of funds).  If you have any further questions about the vehicle, do not hesitate to ask....Joe.

Race Recap: 2014 Pikes Peak Hill Climb

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

The weather didn't interrupt the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb this year, the sun staying out to shine throughout a mildly cloudy day. The crowds didn't interrupt the race, either. Last year there were incidents like the woman who leaned so far into the road that her camera tore a hole in a speeding Shelby Cobra and she had to be sent to the hospital. This year the organizers shrank the number of spectator viewing areas and put others behind fences, such that long stretches of the route were uninhabited by anything other than varmints.
The only unexpected visitor was a dusty track and what some competitors said were slightly higher temperatures that changed the amount of grip and increased times. Yet the calm let a couple of teams, like that sun, break through the clouds of past misfortune and claim victories they'd been targeting for years.

Mitsubishi planning to bring back Lancer as hybrid crossover

Mon, Apr 23 2018

It looks like the Mitsubishi Lancer is about to undertake a daring transformation from a ten-year-old sedan to a crossover. The Eclipse has already shed its coupe roots and become the Eclipse Cross, and now it's the Lancer's turn to become a high-rider. The carmaker already teased its future plans with the e-Evolution concept last year (pictured above), again combining a previously successful Mitsubishi nameplate with new crossover intentions. Now, talking to AutoExpress, Mitsubishi's chief operating officer and chief designer both hint of the Lancer taking the shape of the e-Evolution. For Mitsubishi, the Lancer's segment still looks very viable in the next decade, but it doesn't necessarily want to fight the Ford Focus and the VW Golf with a conventional hatchback, let alone a three-box saloon. "We believe we have a solution that could fit the segment", said COO Trevor Mann. "[The segment's] numbers are still expanding in China, so there's appeal. And I think because the segment is so large globally, we've got to take a look at it." The chief designer, Tsunehiro Kunimoto said, "Just because it's C-segment, it doesn't mean it has to be a very conventional hatchback. Maybe we can create a new type of hatchback vehicle. We're thinking quite radically." It is also likely that the Lancer's eventual replacement will use hybrid technology and a Renault-Nissan Alliance platform — and an all-wheel-drive option would still be a nod to the Lancer Evo's heritage, at least partially justifying any use of the Evolution brand. Trevor Mann says the product timeline is largely set until 2025, and the existing crossovers in the portfolio, the Outlander and the Outlander Sport (known elsewhere as the ASX) will get replacements. The company is now directing its attention to the Lancer and the Montero, both of which have last had a major update over ten years ago. The Lancer was phased out in the U.S. last fall after a very long run. Related Video:

Mitsubishi is killing the Lancer this summer

Fri, Jan 6 2017

The small sedan segment is going to get a little smaller this summer. At a Mitsubishi event last night, the company discussed its new focus on the crossover market. It left us wondering where this leaves the future of Mitsubishi sedans. We asked executive vice president and COO of Mitsubishi's North American division Don Swearingen about this, and he said the Mirage G4 will remain on the market to handle some sedan demand, but that Lancer production will end this August. Swearingen did explain that there will probably be leftover stock for a few months after the end of production, but that the car would effectively be gone this summer with 2017 its final model year. He said the sedan market is shrinking and the company needs to make sure any new product it develops is profitable, which is why Mitsubishi continues to shift its focus to the ever-growing crossover market and there are no current plans for a new Lancer. It should also be noted that the current Lancer was introduced a decade ago and wasn't terribly competitive to begin with. Still, we'll miss the Lancer line, even if it was only for the hope that we'd see another Lancer Evolution someday. Related Video:
