2001 MITSUBISHI GALANT GTZ The GTZ was basically a fully loaded, no-option car that had certain exclusive features, such as the spoiler, side cladding, and suspension. A nice GTZ is hard to find. A two-owner car. I have owned this since April of 2002. It has 156,150 miles. The motor runs very well and uses no oil. At 144,627 miles the transmission was rebuilt at a cost of $2000+. Timing belt was replaced at 115,000 miles. Radiator and both hoses were replaced at 118,000 miles. Mitsubishi Eclipse GT 18" wheels with Toyo Proxes 225/40ZR18 tires. The tires are pretty well worn out. Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs Aftermarket halo headlights and alteeza taillights Custom grille. I fabricated this myself and installed it when the headlights and taillights were put in. Body and paint are very nice with just a couple of scratches and nicks. See photos. The paint is going bad on top of the rear-view mirrors, but is very nice everywhere else. Gas filler door is messed up and will not close properly. Again, see pictures. Interior is very nice for age and mileage. Gray leather with factory floor mats. Headliner starting to come loose slightly at rear only. Dash has a crack. Clean trunk area Everything works, engine runs very well, oil and filter always changed at 3000-4000 miles. Premium oil and filters always used. Clean engine compartment. Transmission works properly. Rebuilt by a shop very familiar with Mitsubishi transmissions, so it was done right. I have the receipt for this. There is a slight, intermittent vibration that occurs when under a load, that has been tentatively traced to a bad engine or transmission mount. This is not an engine or transmission vibration, nor is it tire or wheel related. The front rotors are just starting to cause slight steering wheel vibration when the brakes are applied. Easily corrected with new rotors or turning the ones on there now. I strongly recommend you come and look at this car in person before you bid. This is one of the nicer Galant GTZs left. The high bidder will be responsible for paying for the car. There is no reserve. Please do not bid on the car first, then come look at it and decide you don't want it. This is not how it works. Nissan's purchase of Mitsubishi is officially official
Thu, Oct 20 2016After the company's announcement in May, the Nissan's purchase of a 34 percent stake in Mitsubishi is now official. The deal cost Nissan $2.3 billion, according to the Wall Street Journal, and brings Mitsubishi into the Nissan-Renault Alliance. The company explained that this new partnership will manifest itself in shared vehicle platforms and technology, joint purchasing, and shared manufacturing. Nissan also said that this purchase will make the company one of the three largest companies by volume in the world. Nissan also emphasized that Mitsubishi will very much be a partner in the current alliance with Renault. In addition, Carlos Ghosn, CEO of both Nissan and Renault, has been nominated to be the new chairman of the Mitsubishi board. With Ghosn at the head of the board, current Mitsubishi president and CEO, Osamu Masuko, will remain in his positions but Nissan's current chief competitive officer will join Masuko as co-chief executive officer at Mitsubishi. With these companies now working together, we'll probably start seeing more commonality between Nissan and Mitsubishi products here in the States. It would also be a great opportunity to get some of Mitsubishi's cooler products here. Perhaps Mitsubishi and Nissan will take our hint about the Delica. 2023 Mitsubishi Triton detailed with new frame, new diesel engine
Mon, Jul 10 2023The new 2023 Mitsubishi Triton is around the corner, and the Japanese company has outlined some of the many changes it's making to the truck. The more rugged-looking exterior design hides a new ladder frame, and the pickup will be powered by a new turbodiesel engine. Sold as the L200 in some parts of the world, the Triton needs to be a lot of things to a lot of different people; it can be seen towing cattle in Australia, performing rescue operations in the Alps and being used as a daily driver in rural Chile. Catering to these different audiences isn't easy, but Mitsubishi has largely retained the tried-and-true formula that has made the current-generation truck relatively popular. Mitsubishi kept the outgoing truck's tough body-on-frame construction, though it designed a new frame rather than making updates to the old one. It developed a new double-wishbone front suspension system but kept the rear leaf springs as a compromise between ruggedness and on-road comfort. And power for the next-generation Triton will come from a new turbodiesel engine designed to deliver "a higher output." 2023 Mitsubishi Triton View 3 Photos We'll need to be patient to find out what effect these changes will have on the Triton's ride quality, off-road capacity and towing figures, and technical specifications haven't been released yet. For context, the current-generation Triton's base engine on the Australian market is a 2.4-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder rated at 178 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. Buyers can choose between rear- and four-wheel drive and between a manual and an automatic transmission. Single-cab, club-cab and double-cab models are part of the range in Australia. The 2023 Mitsubishi Triton will make its global debut in Thailand on July 26 at 10 a.m. local time, which is 11:00 p.m. on July 25 in New York and 8:00 p.m. on the same day in California. The truck will be sold in numerous global markets, but the United States isn't one of them. Race Recap: 2014 Pikes Peak Hill Climb
Mon, 30 Jun 2014The weather didn't interrupt the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb this year, the sun staying out to shine throughout a mildly cloudy day. The crowds didn't interrupt the race, either. Last year there were incidents like the woman who leaned so far into the road that her camera tore a hole in a speeding Shelby Cobra and she had to be sent to the hospital. This year the organizers shrank the number of spectator viewing areas and put others behind fences, such that long stretches of the route were uninhabited by anything other than varmints.
The only unexpected visitor was a dusty track and what some competitors said were slightly higher temperatures that changed the amount of grip and increased times. Yet the calm let a couple of teams, like that sun, break through the clouds of past misfortune and claim victories they'd been targeting for years.
