2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart Sedan 4-door 2.4l on 2040-cars

Up for auction is my 2004 Lancer Ralliart. I purchased this car new back in February of 2004, and have been the only primary driver of this car in the ten years that I have owned it. Around 2,000 miles, I changed all fluids to synthetic and that has remained the same for the life of this car. I have kept methodical maintenance on this car and possibly even a little excessive over the years. Oil has been changed every 3,500-4,000 miles with Royal Purple and Wix filters, Brake fluid has been fully changed with Motul RBF 600 every 20-25,000 miles, Radiator/cooling system flushed every 25,000 miles, Thermostat replaced with performance 160 degree unit (replacing the 190 degree OEM one), Transmission fluid changed with BG Synchro-shift II every 25-30,000 miles. Transmission rebuilt by Honea Mitsubishi in Albertville, AL due to an input shaft bearing recall a few years ago. Clutch replaced with a Clutchmasters stage 1 clutch about 10,000 miles ago. New front and rear motor mounts, new oxygen sensors, outer tie rod ends done about 15,000 miles ago, timing belt done around 85-90,000, good brakes, 75-80 percent tread left on tires.. All speakers have been replaced with JBL component speakers (6 1/2's and tweeters), Upgraded speaker wire throughout car, Kenwood head unit with bluetooth, iPod/iPhone control, satellite radio ready, AUX input, etc. The 10inch subwoofer is mounted in the OEM enclosure for a clean look. Runs great, drives better, looks far better than a 10 year old daily driven car normally does. No leaks, no smoke, mechanically sound. I have never had a mechanical issue with the engine...Only things I have had to replace are the cooling fan controller and acceleration sensor. The car was rear-ended on Dec. 25, 2011. Rear bumper cover and right tail light were replaced along with minor pulling of the right rear corner. Quick little mod list that will go with the car is as follows: The mileage listed is not actual mileage. I replaced the OEM gauge cluster with a cluster from a 2003 Lancer Evolution that had more miles listed as my car actually had. I will gladly reinstall OEM cluster and calculate actual mileage on the car if you desire. I have too much in this car to let it go dirt cheap...and I feel that I am asking a reasonable price. I will tell you anything you would like to know about the car..just ask. I will also do my best to provide any specific pictures you may want/need...again, just ask. I will be straight forward about everything on/in this car. I have no hesitations about driving this car anywhere...I recently drove it 12 hours to Cocoa, FL for vacation and would do it again tomorrow if needed. I do have this car listed locally for 6,000 obo...and I will end auction if sold locally. This is a reserve auction, and I will not remove or lower the reserve price unless I see fit. |

Aggressive new Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Concept-S coming to Paris
Tue, Sep 2 2014Already a hit in the rest of the world, the Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-In Hybrid is not coming to the US until late next year. That gives Mitsu plenty of time to upgrade the SUV to the next-generation model, and we might be getting a glimpse of what the US-speck Outlander PHEV will look like at the Paris Motor Show in early October. Take a look at the new "Sporty and Sophisticated" Outlander PHEV Concept-S that Mitsubishi is teasing in two dark images today. Mitsubishi says that what's being teased here is simply part of a "special package" that "magnifies the Outlander PHEV's unique driving experience." But, the last time Mitsubishi showed off an Outlander PHEV concept – at the 2012 Paris show – the production model ended up looking quite a bit like the show version. With aggressive lines all over the front fascia and bold strokes across the rear, the new concept certainly looks a lot better than the current model. We don't expect all of this auto show pizazz to make the final cut, but we like the direction that Mitsubishi is going here, extending the design language from the Outlander XR PHEV and GC-PHEV concepts from last year's Tokyo show. We should know more when we get to Paris on October 2nd. Until then, click on the images to get a better view and check out Mitsubishi's press release below. Mitsubishi Motors Europe issued the following news release at 6:00 pm on September 2, 2014. Paris, September 2, 2014 - Two years after it premiered its successful Outlander PHEV plug-in hybrid electric Twin Motor SUV/crossover at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) has elected the "Mondial de L'Automobile" again – this time to unveil another PHEV vehicle: Outlander PHEV Concept-S. Sporty & Sophisticated The Outlander PHEV Concept-S is a concept model MMC proposes as a special package of the Outlander PHEV production model that has a refined interior and exterior design that magnifies the Outlander PHEV's unique driving experience. The Outlander PHEV Concept-S takes "Sporty and Sophisticated" as the theme for its design. This refined design expresses the unique combination of spirited 4x4 performance from its twin-motor PHEV system, soothing silent running, and superior on-road performance.
Japan calls Ghosn's escape inexcusable and vows tighter immigration checks
Sun, Jan 5 2020TOKYO — Japan's justice minister on Sunday called the flight of former Nissan Chairman Carlos Ghosn as he awaited trial on financial misconduct charges inexcusable and vowed to beef up immigration checks. Justice Minister Masako Mori said she had ordered an investigation after Ghosn issued a statement a few days ago saying he was in Lebanon. She said there were no records of Ghosn's departure from Tokyo. She said his bail has been revoked, and Interpol had issued a wanted notice. Departure checks needed to be strengthened to prevent a recurrence, Mori said. While expressing deep regret over what had happened, Mori stopped short of outlining any specific action Japan might take to get Ghosn back. Japan does not have an extradition treaty with Lebanon. “Our nationÂ’s criminal justice system protects the basic human rights of an individual and properly carries out appropriate procedures to disclose the truth of various cases, and the flight of a suspect while out on bail is never justified,” she said in a statement. MoriÂ’s statement was the first public comment by a Japanese government official after the stunning escape of Ghosn, once a superstar of the auto industry. Tokyo prosecutors issued a similar statement Sunday. They had opposed Ghosn's release on bail, arguing he was a flight risk. First arrested in November 2018, Ghosn was out on bail over the last several months, and more recently had moved into a home in an upscale part of Tokyo. He has repeatedly said he was innocent. His statement from Beirut said he was escaping injustice. Japan's justice system has come under fire from human rights advocates for its long detentions, the reliance on confessions and prolonged trials. The conviction rate is higher than 99%. Even if Ghosn had been found innocent, the prosecutors could have appealed, and the appeals process could have lasted years. Ghosn's trial was not expected to start until April at the earliest. During that time, he had been prohibited from seeing his wife, and was only allowed a couple of video calls in the presence of a lawyer. Ghosn had been charged with underreporting his future compensation and breach of trust in diverting Nissan money for his personal gain. Although the details of his escape are not yet clear, Turkish airline company MNG Jet has said two of its planes were used illegally, first flying him from Osaka, Japan, to Istanbul, and then on to Beirut, where he arrived Monday and has not been seen since.
Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi pool $200 million to invest in tech startups
Fri, Jan 5 2018PARIS — The Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance is setting up a $200 million mobility tech fund, three sources said, in the latest move by major carmakers to adapt to rapid industry change by investing in startups through their own venture capital arms. The fund, due to be unveiled by Chief Executive Carlos Ghosn at the CES tech industry show in Las Vegas next Tuesday, will be 40 percent financed by Renault, 40 percent by Nissan and 20 percent by Mitsubishi. "It will allow us to move faster on acquisitions ahead of our competition," one of the alliance sources told Reuters. Frederique Le Greves, a spokeswoman for the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance, declined to comment. The traditional auto industry model based on individual ownership is threatened by pay-per-use services such as Uber, as well as ride- and car-sharing platforms, a challenge heightened by parallel shifts towards electrified and self-driving cars. Wary carmakers are struggling to embrace changes and technologies that some of their executives are only beginning to grasp. To accelerate the process, many are investing directly in the new services — and gaining access to intellectual property — via their own corporate venture capital (CVC) funds. BMW has purchased stakes in a plethora of ride-sharing, smart-charging and autonomous vehicle software firms through its 500 million euro ($600 million) iVentures fund, the biggest such in-house facility belonging to a carmaker. Among others that have been increasingly active are General Motors' GM Ventures, with $240 million, and Peugeot-maker PSA Group's 100 million-euro investment arm. CVC funds, a familiar feature of innovative sectors such as tech and pharmaceuticals, have become more commonplace among carmakers since the 2008-9 financial crisis. They let companies skip some of the formalities otherwise required for new investments, and pounce more swiftly on promising startups. The Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi venture will also obviate the current need to thrash out the ownership split for each new alliance acquisition. It represents a further step in the integration of the carmakers as they pursue 10 billion euros in annual synergies by 2022. France's Renault holds a 43.4 percent stake in Nissan, which in turn controls Mitsubishi. Ghosn heads Renault and chairs all three.
