I am selling my 2009 Lancer, a car fully loaded and, unfortunately, never used up to its full potential. It has the optional to purchase CVT automatic and the Sound and Sun package which is just what it sounds like, a 650 amp Rockford - Fosgate sound system with an in-dash six disc changer as well as a moon roof. Another feature is the FAST Key, keyless remote entry system. With the CVT automatic, paddle shifters on the steering wheel the car accommodates different driving techniques (and different drivers I might add) The interior is black leather, with heated seats. In the back, the split, folding bench was quite useable. Foot room and knee room were pretty good and two adults could sit in comfort. Adding lots of safety features to the mix such as a full assortment of airbags, including front-seat side airbags, full-length head curtain airbags and a driver knee airbag as well as antilock brakes, makes this car not only fun but also fun to drive. The mileage is mostly highway, as I used to commute to work. Mitsubishi Lancer GTS 2009 in a nut shell 168-horsepower 2.4-liter DOHC MIVEC engine equipped with the CVT, includes a 6-step Sportronic mode, Automated and Manual option, operated through paddle shifters. FAST (Freehand Advanced Security Transmitter) Key / keyless ignition and entry 18-inch alloy wheels automatic climate control leather heated seats hands free/ BlueTooth system sport-tuned suspension Sun and Sound package includes: sunroof nine-speaker Rockford Fosgate sound system with an in-dash six-CD changer an auxiliary audio jack (RCA style) and satellite radio Safety front-seat side airbags full-length head curtain airbags a driver knee airbag antilock brakes. |

Look what West Coast Customs did to a 100-year-old Mitsubishi Model A
Mon, Nov 27 2017A hundred years ago, Mitsubishi made its first car, called the Model A. Back in April of this year, the automaker said it would update an example of that original model, electrifying it with the help of West Coast Customs. The result is the Mitsubishi Re-Model A, which combines old-school looks with the automaker's plug-in hybrid powertrain borrowed from the Outlander PHEV. To make room for the Outlander PHEV's chassis, West Coast Customs had to stretch the body of the Model A, while attempting to retain as much of its original form as possible. Once that was completed, they gave the car new door panels and modern steering wheel and parking brake. With two drive motors, the Re-Model A gets Mitsubishi's Super All-Wheel Control. The resulting car is a little funky looking. It's got wide, modern wheels and tires that look out of place. The front end takes on a new shape that looks odd from certain angles. On the plus side, it's probably faster and better to drive (depending on your perspective) than the original, which had a 2.8-liter four-cylinder engine producing 35 horsepower. We drove the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV that the Re-Model A gets its chassis from, and enjoyed it quite a bit. Still, watching the mechanics tear down a 100-year-old vehicle which will never be the same again Β makes us cringe. Mitsubishi has a microsite devoted to the Re-Model A if you'd like to learn more. Nissan is exploring the sale of its 34% stake in Mitsubishi
Mon, Nov 16 2020TOKYO Nissan is looking to sell some or all of its 34% stake in Mitsubishi Motors, Bloomberg News reported on Monday, citing unidentified sources, a move that would reshape a three-way alliance that includes France's Renault. Nissan shares rose 5% on the news. Mitsubishi Motors was up 3%. "There are no plans to change the capital structure with Mitsubishi," a Nissan company spokeswoman told Reuters in an emailed statement. A Mitsubishi Motors spokesman said the same, adding the company would continue to collaborate within the alliance. Renault did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment. Nissan, struggling to recover from the pandemic-induced downturn, could sell its stake to a Mitsubishi group company such as Mitsubishi Corp, which already owns a fifth of Mitsubishi Motors, Bloomberg said. Such a deal would fundamentally alter a three-way partnership built by Carlos Ghosn, former chairman of the alliance, which plunged into confusion when he was arrested in 2018 on charges of financial misconduct. Ghosn had wanted a full merger of Renault and Nissan, which was shelved, according to Reuters sources, as the companies decided to fix the troubled alliance. The pandemic has, however, compounded problems and made a recovery hard. Nissan, which is 43% owned by Renault, last week cut its operating loss forecast for the year to March by 28%, helped by a rebound in demand, especially in China. Mitsubishi Motors, Japan's No.6 automaker, expects to post an operating loss of 140 billion yen for the business year. Both companies are cutting production levels and costs in a bid to return to profitability. Related Video:
Mitsubishi's first US chairman since 2007 charged with revitalizing brand
Fri, 02 Nov 2012Have a look at Mitsubishi North America's vehicle page and you'll find seven cars in four model lines: i-MiEV electric hatch, Lancer sedan, Lancer Evolution and Sportback, Outlander and Outlander Sport, and Galant sedan. The Galant has 3.9 tires in the automotive grave, and the only hope for mainstream excitement, the Eclipse coupe and Spyder, had hemlock poured down their crankcases last year. Increasing the quotient of bleak, the Lancer isn't due for a refresh until 2014, the coming Outlander PHEV will sell in miniscule numbers when it does arrive, a little sports car has been nixed and the only other Mitsu being considered for our landmass is the Colt, which, for its stellar fuel economy numbers, looks like a car designed by Pikachu. There's also that matter of declining NA market share in a rising overall market, Mitsubishi's piece of the total pie currently hovering around the 0.4-percent mark according to Automotive News.
The company has decided to do more about it, reassigning Executive Vice President and Head Officer of the Headquarters Product Projects & Strategy Group Gayu Uesugi to be the new chairman of Mitsubishi Motors North America. It will be the first time in five years that someone has filled the chairman position at MMNA.
The hope is that with Uesugi's 35 years with the company, his experience in the company's global product plan and his success in emerging market strategy, he's the man to "[develop] a product plan and growth strategy for the US market" that will put things right. Or at least better. He will work with Yoichi Yokozawa, who has been CEO of MMNA since last year. There are more details on the move in the press release below.
