Hello everybody,

Up for sale is my '97 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX. It's in excellent condition for its age and starts up and runs great! It's 100% stock except for a Blitz blow-off valve, conical intake filter and an upgraded muffler that sounds pretty nice and isn't very loud. Those modifications were installed by the previous owner. It was also undercoated when purchased in Texas but it has never seen any snow. It's an excellent car that has all wheel drive, a powerful turbo and still gets excellent gas mileage.

The exterior of the car is in lovely condition. It has some wear as you'd expect for a car of its age but overall, it's very straight and the paint is in excellent condition for its age. It has no rust at all - not even in the spare tire well as you can see! It gets plenty of compliments wherever it goes! The wheels have some curb rash unfortunately and the bottom of the front bumper was scuffed up by the irresponsible mechanics who did the NY state inspection the last time it was done. The tires have plenty of tread left on them. The exterior is completely stock in its appearance except for the larger diameter of the muffler tip.

The interior of the car is in good shape overall. The driver seat is worn but the passenger seat and rear seats are in great shape. The dashboard is very clean and crack-free. The carpets are in good shape. The cloth of the sunroof cover is drooping and will need to be reattached using a spray adhesive or something. This only affects the sunroof cover. The rest of the headliner is in good condition. Also, the supports for the hatch are weak and will usually not hold the hatch up.

The car runs great. It sometimes gets a check engine light on but runs nice and smoothly anyway. The car was stored for about 2 years in a garage and when I went to bring it back home this summer, it started right up after the battery was charged without any hesitation!

The car is being sold with no reserve price. Highest bid takes it because I just don't have the space to keep it as I lost the storage garage where it was being kept.

Please ask any and all questions prior to bidding. The car is being sold as-is with no warranty.

Must be picked up in Thornwood, NY. If the car is to be shipped, it is the responsibility of the buyer to arrange shipping.

Thank you very much and good luck!!

Mitsubishi recalling 2011 Outlander Sport over panoramic roofs that may fly off

Tue, 02 Jul 2013

The panoramic roof offered on the 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is a great way to make the cabin feel more open, but some owners of the compact CUV could get a little more openness than they bargained for. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced a recall for Outlander Sport models built between August 2010 and March 2011 due to the possibility that the panoramic roof could fly off.
On about 3,200 Outlander Sport models in the US and Puerto Rico, a potentially improper installation process could have resulted in a lack of adhesive primer between the glass and the roof, which could allow the glass to detach from the vehicle and become dangerous debris on the road. Fortunately, it sounds like there have only been two instances of detached roofs, and neither was in the US. As a fix, Mitsubishi dealers will check to make sure the primer was used, and if not, the glass will be reinstalled following the proper procedure. Scroll down for the official NHTSA recall notice.

2013 Pikes Peak Hill Climb, Practice Day 4

Fri, 28 Jun 2013

The fourth and final practice day of the 91st Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is complete. Tomorrow everyone will make any last-minute adjustments and get their cars, their bits and bobs lined up in the pits for Sunday morning's this-time-it-counts run.
The Unlimited runners took on the top section of the course today, Sébastien Loeb and his big-mouth Peugeot acing the practice test again with a time of 2:11. Rhys Millen's team proved its got the engine issues of two days ago in the Hyundai PM580T sorted out, posting the next-best time at 2:27.16. The reason we had to dip all the way into the hundredths for his time is because he nipped Romain Dumas by just .31 of them, the Frenchman in the Norma M20FC PP running the course in 2:27.47. In fourth came the Frenchman in the monster Mini, Jean-Philippe Dayraut six seconds back at 2:33.
Time Attack competitors, also on the upper section, were led by Paul Dallenbach in the Hyundai Genesis Coupe with a time of 2:36, Porsche pilot Jeff Zwart crossing the line six seconds later at 2:42, fellow Porsche driver David Donner coming in another six seconds back at 2:48. Dallenbach has topped three of the four practice-day sessions, sliding into the second spot behind Donner only on Practice Day 2.

2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross Quick Spin Review | Deserving of a clean slate

Wed, Apr 18 2018

The 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is named after a sport compact coupe, which was iconic to some and a sad reminder of its brand's slide into irrelevance to most others. That "Eclipse" is now attached to a compact SUV will likely cheese off the former and cause the latter to sarcastically mutter, "Yup, that seems about right." Mitsubishi's marketers would say it shares the old Eclipse's "reputation for driving dynamics and technology." Do with that what you will. For now, though, let's put aside what it's called. Well, beyond the fact it's comically long to say and difficult to type (I started calling it the Eagle Talon Cross for those reasons). Because really, the name straps a whole load of baggage to a mostly clean-slate vehicle that in concept is actually a smart move by a brand trying to climb back to relevance. In size, it straddles the line between B- and C-segment compact SUVs. In shape and style, it's set apart from the more utilitarian entries of both. Under the hood, it provides torque-rich turbocharged grunt in contrast to meek naturally aspirated rivals. The ample ground clearance and standard all-wheel drive (on most trims) take a page from the Subaru playbook that's been moving the chains so well. As we discovered when we compared its specs to those of vaguely similar SUVs, the Eclipse Cross is far more intriguing and potentially competitive than originally thought. Perhaps it's unfair to the car itself, but besides all that baggage attached to its name, it's also saddled with the expectations of recent Mitsubishi products that have been uncompetitive, dull or just plain bad. (The i-Miev is the worst and most embarrassing car I've ever driven, and I've driven a Yugo.) In short, the Eclipse Cross warrants a clean-slate appraisal. Sure, it shares its wheelbase with Mitsubishi's two Outlander SUVs and certainly other components as well, but in appearance, touch and driving feel, the Eclipse Cross is profoundly different. This is immediately obvious in the cabin that's far more contemporary in appearance. If you think it looks a bit like the Lexus NX interior, you certainly wouldn't be alone, right down to its touchpad tech interface (more on that later). Materials quality is also strong, and not just in comparison to its brand mates, but to the compact SUV segment as a whole.
