I’m the original owner. I picked up the car on June 29, 2013 with 22 miles on the odometer. For the past year-plus, this car has been my pride and joy. The car was broken-in per Mini/BMW factory recommendations, including variable speeds at sub-4,500 RPM levels. The car’s never been tracked. Oil change and transmission fluid change done concurrently at 1,364 miles. The engine oil used was Castrol Edge Professional TWS 10w-60; transmission fluid was Redline MTL 70W80. Consistent and methodical cleaning regimen. Thorough washes using “P21S High Performance Total Auto Wash”; quarterly waxes, including claybar treatment, using “P21S 100% Carbauba Paste Wax.” No after-market modifications; non-OEM parts on the car limited to low-dust EBC Redstuff brake pads to replace the notoriously dusty BMW/Mini OEM pads. Clear bra applied to the entire hood, front air dam, headlamps, A-pillars, foremost portion of roof, side mirrors, sideskirts, and on topmost portion of rear bumper assembly (luggage strip). Wet Okole neoprene seat covers on both seats. The clear bra was applied before any freeway driving was done, while the seat covers were installed during first month of ownership. (Note: the seat covers were temporarily removed for the purposes of the photos featured in this listing. Will be including with sale, if buyer so chooses) No smoking and no pets. |

2016 John Cooper Works Clubman is torquiest Mini ever
Wed, Sep 21 2016Mini fancies its latest Clubman as more an executive car than a typical premium compact. Think BMW 5 Series to the regular Hardtop's 3 Series. With that in mind, you can think of the new John Cooper Works Clubman as a Mini M5 of sorts. The new JCW Clubman boasts a number of features not offered on its little brothers. Mini engineers are squeezing 228 horsepower out of the 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder, just like on the Hardtop model. But the bigger John Cooper Works gets a significant bump in torque, up from 236 pound-feet of torque to a more robust 258 lb-ft. And with a standard All4 all-wheel-drive system, the JCW Clubman maximizes the ability to deploy that extra power. View 15 Photos Regardless of transmission, the new Works model hits 60 in 6.0 seconds and runs up to 147 miles per hour, 0.9 seconds quicker and five miles per hour faster than the S model we drove last year. A sportier suspension, meanwhile, drops the ride height 0.4 inches, so expect at least slightly better handling from Mini's newest Works model. Exclusive two-piece sport seats should keep drivers in place while exercising the newfound handling ability. But beyond the extra power, all-wheel drive, upgraded suspension, and neat seats, the JCW Clubman is largely a mishmash of parts we know and like. It uses the same standard six-speed manual and optional eight-speed automatic as the regular car, while the polarizing six-doored body wears the usual JCW tinsel – 18-inch wheels and a more aggressive body kit that promises better engine and brake cooling. And it still has a weight problem – the new car weighs in just under 3,500 pounds to the standard car's 3,300-pound curb weight. Mini hasn't published pricing, but if the trend set by the Hardtop and Convertible continues, we'd wager the new JCW will start around $35,500, tacking $6,000 onto the S model's $29,450. Well, at least Mini has the executive-level pricing down. The John Cooper Works Clubman should hit US dealers in December. 28 "flexible ladies" cram into a Mini Cooper [w/video]
Sat, 17 Nov 2012The Mini Cooper is now confirmed as a great car with which to pick up chicks-up to 28 of them at a time, to be specific. That's the number of limber ladies you can fit in a Mini, as proven earlier this week in London.
The flexible females used every available space in the car, including the footwells and dashboard, to set the Guinness World Record for the most people inside a 2012 Mini. They beat their own previous record of 27, set last year.
Organizer Dani Maynard said before the attempt that the girls had undergone extra training and stretching since last year's record-breaking stunt. "While we have not quite been able to fit any of the girls into the Mini's glove box, there is a surprising amount of space to utilise," she told UK news site Metro.
Mini could go even bigger with next Countryman
Mon, 25 Nov 2013We recently reported that the new family of Minis could balloon from eight models to ten or more, but it's not only the model line that's expected to grow: so too could the largest model itself. That, of course, would be the Countryman, which is already bigger than anything else ever to wear the Mini badge. But if you think the current Countryman is already big enough, the latest reports suggest that it could get even bigger. Apparently parent company BMW feels a larger Mini crossover would better compete with more mainstream models in the marketplace.
The Countryman, however, will only be one of the new variants to spin off of the new third-generation Mini. Expect the new Hardtop hatchback introduced in LA to be followed by a new Cabriolet, Roadster, and Paceman. A five-door version of the base hatchback will also join in addition to the new Clubman, which is tipped to get a split tailgate instead of the single hinged aperture on the current model. The jury's still out on the Mini Coupe, which has largely failed to impress, while a convertible crossover could be back in the mix along with the rumored plug-in hybrid version.
