2009 MINI Cooper Convertible John Cooper Works (JCW) A Head-Turning, Mind-Blowing, Whiplashing "BLACK BEAUTY" (almost all chrome trim has been "blacked out" with a vinyl wrap). This MINI is NOT "cute", and is fitting only for drivers who want performance with a sleek/stealth look. Aside from the specs you can find from Edmunds or any other research site, here are the options, extras, and mods: --------------------------------------- JCW Aero Kit Eibach Suspension Kit NEW turbo & NEW water pump were replaced and installed by MINI in late 2010! Extended maintenance contract to August 2015 or 100,000 miles Major maintenance recommendations (50-60K) were JUST completed in August! (current mileage is under 65K) Heated front seats / cold weather package Window tint (including rear and front passenger side windows) Almost all chrome trim has been wrapped in black vinyl (headlights being the only exception) Smoked tail lights & side turn signals Hard-wired radar detector cord for most Escort radar detectors (for stealth detector placement above rearview mirror). Carbon Fiber style JCW Shift knob Stubby Antenna Rubber sport mats I have a sport button mod (car goes into Sport mode automatically after engine is turned on..without having to press the Sport button) and a safety third brake light mod (flashes alarmingly to increase visibility to other drivers after brake pedal is pressed) that has never been installed...they're new. I will throw those in for you after I locate them in my storage unit. Vehicle is in excellent condition and housed in the Temecula/San Diego Area.

BMW will electrify all brands and model lines, including Mini
Tue, Jul 25 2017BMW has announced that it plans to produce a fully electric version of the three-door hatchback Mini. The car will go into production in 2019, and the battery electric drivetrain will be produced at BMW's Bavarian facilities, then transported to Plant Oxford where it will join the cars. BMW says there will remain a diesel variant in addition to the petrol, plug-in hybrid, and EV versions of the Mini. No prototype shots have been released of the upcoming cars; the current one was unveiled in late 2013. The UK production location isn't the only place where BMW builds Minis, as the former Volvo/Mitsubishi/Smart NedCar plant in the Netherlands has been tooled to build some of the 360,000 Minis built yearly. According to the BBC, UK Business Secretary Greg Clark considers the choice to build EV Minis in Britain a "vote of confidence" despite Brexit, and that it would see battery technology development boosted in the UK. By the time the EV version starts production, UK will likely have already left the European Union. The electrification of the Mini is part of BMW Group's continuing addition of full-electric or plug-in versions to all its brands and model series. Of all the vehicles it will sell in 2025, 15-25 percent will be electrified in one way or the other. Similarly to Volvo, BMW sees flexible production to be in a key position in the future: The facilities would have to be able to build all versions at the same time, as markets fluctuate depending on incentives and infrastructure. If EVs sell strongly, the production process can quickly respond to the demand. An electric Mini underwent trials back in 2008, so the full-scale production vehicle would have over a decade's worth of engineering behind it. Green BMW MINI mini ev bmw group
Mini Coopers make the best Pac-Man ghosts in Pixels movie trailer
Thu, Mar 19 2015The concept of fighting off real-world incarnations of classic arcade game characters out to destroy the Earth sounds like a rejected idea for an SNL Digital Short. But it's coming to theaters this summer in a film called Pixels starring Adam Sandler and Kevin James. Based on the trailer, it seems the premise of the film is that aliens receive a message from Earth and decide to fight back with vintage arcade characters, including ones from Space Invaders, Q*bert and Donkey Kong. To defeat these baddies, Sandler and Co must beat them in the style of their respective games. When it comes time to take out the giant glowing-yellow Pac-Man, their plan includes outfitting a quartet of Mini Cooper S models as the ghosts. Squint at the cars' license plates to spot a subtle, visual joke. They are called Inky, Pinky, Blinky and Clyde – the nicknames of the enemies in the arcade. While it could be argued that Sandler and James haven't quite been at the top of their games recently, the story here appears to boil down to Ghostbusters with video games, which could work purely on a nostalgic level if it's properly handled. Check out the trailer to spot even more vintage arcade references.
Mini's Superleggera concept could see production; here's what it might look like
Fri, 30 May 2014We fell in love with the Mini Superleggera Vision Concept from the moment we laid eyes on it. The little convertible blends retro and modern together better than any Mini in years. There is even more good news about the roadster as well because the company is considering actually building it. We even have some renders of what the production version could look like.
Mini boss Peter Schwarzenbauer tells Automotive News at the 2014 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, that the Superleggera might have a life beyond its debut. "We wanted to test how Mini enthusiasts worldwide were reacting to such a different type of Mini. So far, it has re
ceived overwhelming appreciation," he said to AN. But here's the bad news. All of the unique elements of the droptop wouldn't be cheap to build. Pricing would likely be around 35,000 euros if BMW gives it the green light, according to Schwarzenbauer. It's too early to know whether the road car would use the electric motor from the concept or something more conventional.
