2008 Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works Bmw on 2040-cars
Bedford, New Hampshire, United States
|
Hello, up for sale is a 2008 John Cooper Works. Due to the higher mileage this is a great opportunity to own a John Cooper Works at a very reasonable price. This car has been extremely well cared for. If the odometer didn't reflect 158K it could be easily be mistaken for a car with 58K. This vehicle has lived in Bedford, NH its entire life. I also live in Bedford. When it came up for sale I decided to pick it up as a winter car. After closely looking over the car I have decided it is far too special and clean to drive only in the winter months. As new, this car was purchased with all the options. It is beautifully appointed with Pepper White paint and Gravity Tuscan Beige leather. The original owner had a clear 3m bra installed which remains on the hood, fenders, and front spoiler. It has been outfitted with convenience package (sports leather wheel, garage door openers, comfort access system keyless entry, auto dimming mirror, rains sensing wipers, and bluetooth) the cold weather package (power folding mirrors, heated mirrors and washer jets, heated front seats), premium package (dual sunroof, hifi sound, automatic AC), sport package, anthracite headliner, limited slip differential, chrome line interior, rear fog lights, xenon headlights, and white turn signals. As outfitted before the Works package the retail price was 30,550. Adding in the cooper works package easily brought this mini to the mid 30's. In addition, the car has a dealer installed garmin GPS and auxiliary input for audio. There are a few small paint flaws where the bra ends on the hood. The tires could use to be replaced in the next 5-10K. The wheels have a couple spots where the clear coat has lifted. The vehicle has recently been serviced and the monitor system shows 10K remaining before next service. Car is very tight, accelerates well, sounds great, and stops on a dime. Clear NH title in hand. Priced well below NADA clean trade of $11475 and clean retail of $14550 Please see below for high resolution pictures and very clean car fax. You will not be disappointed with this car. It is VERY nice. Please do not hesitate to contact me for additional information on the car. I can be reached at (Brad) 413-478-4312 or by email. I would be happy to send pictures of specific area of question or concern. Car has is also advertised locally. It appears the link to Carfax times out requiring a log in. Please send me a message with your email and I would be happy to forward the report. |

Mini Paceman Adventure photos arrive by the trucklette-load
Fri, 25 Apr 2014Yesterday, we brought you the news of the existence of this Mini Paceman Adventure tiny truck, and the story of how it came to be. Long story short: it was a lighthearted collaboration between apprentices and instructors at parent BMW plants in Germany. The mini-sized pickup bed and off-road kit may not make the Paceman All4 actually practical, but we'd argue that they do make the one-off fairly loveable.
Apparently the Mini photographers agree with that "loveable" part. We'd heard that there were some better, higher-resolution images of the Paceman Adventure on the way, but we didn't expect there to be hundreds of them. But as you can see, the shooters went out and thoroughly documented the pickup, shooting it in several locations, still and moving, and documenting some of its construction as well. Find your favorite in the massive gallery of images, above.
2014 Mini Cooper
Mon, 10 Feb 2014If I had a dollar for every time I heard someone from Mini refer to 'go-kart-like handling,' I'd be retired, living on a beautiful piece of coastline somewhere in the Caribbean. Perhaps even on the shores of Puerto Rico, where Mini chose to launch its latest Cooper and Cooper S hatchbacks. As with so many frequently used phrases, though, there is indeed some truth to the cliché - while the Mini Cooper has never actually handled quite like a go kart, it has always had a certain directness in its movements, reacting to steering inputs with an immediacy and fervor unlike most any other automobile meant primarily for the street.
Combine those unique driving dynamics with a sense of fun that permeates the entire brand from pre-sales marketing to the actual sales process itself and you end up with a marketplace success. As an ex-Mini owner myself (a 2009 Cooper S Convertible), I can attest to the kinship felt between fellow Mini drivers who share in the knowledge that they are having more fun than the poor appliance-driving masses sharing the highways and byways of these United States. It's no surprise that the style-conscious US continues to be the marque's single largest market year after year.
This enviable brand perception hasn't been attained without its own fair share of flaws, however. Though the quirky design and massively customizable bits and pieces that have made up the Mini brand's interior philosophy since it was reborn in 2001 have proven somewhat endearing, the Cooper Hardtop's ergonomics have always been an unmitigated disaster. Plus, this is a very small car, with a rear seat that's practically uninhabitable by adult-size occupants. While that adjective seemingly goes hand-in-hand with the brand's name, the modern Cooper has never been as ingeniously packaged as its 1959 forbearer, which offered up as much interior space as possible through innovative engineering and minimalist design. Further, parent company BMW has positioned Mini as a premium brand, so the Cooper's diminutive size has never equated to low prices. And for being such a small car, the Cooper historically hasn't been well-known for its fuel efficiency.
Rivian R1T, Mini Cooper Electric owners happiest with their EVs
Tue, Feb 28 2023The J.D. Power 2023 U.S. Electric Vehicle Experience (EVX) Ownership Study is out, and there's change at the top. With the swelling adoption of electric vehicles in the U.S. over in the past two years especially, the third year of the EVX study changes focus to first-time EV buyers. Those two factors encouraged change at the top of both premium and mass-market segments. Among premium EVs, the Rivian R1T pickup scored overall victory in its first year of eligibility with a satisfaction score of 794 out of 1,000. The Tesla Model 3 takes second place with 759 points. Tesla had won the top two premium spots in the study in 2021 and in 2022. The average score in the premium segment was 756. The Tesla Model Y (754), Audi E-Tron (735), and Polestar 2 (724) filled out the list of the five eligible models this year. Among the ten eligible mass-market vehicles, the Mini Cooper Electric nabbed the overall win by scoring 782. The Kia EV6 came second with 762 points, keeping Kia in the top two; the Kia Niro EV won the mass-market segment the previous two years. The Ford Mustang Mach-E (742), Hyundai Ioniq 5 (738), and Volkswagen ID.4 (735) completed the top five, the Niro EV (733) in sixth. All were above the segment average of 730. The four models fell below the segment average were the Ford F-150 Lightning (723), Chevrolet Bolt EUV (716), Chevrolet Bolt (711), and Nissan Leaf (698). How are the scores derived? J.D. Power worked with EV app maker and research firm PlugShare to get owner responses in ten areas: accuracy of stated battery range; availability of public charging stations; battery range; cost of ownership; driving enjoyment; ease of charging at home; interior and exterior styling; safety and technology features; service experience; and vehicle quality and reliability. Brent Gruber, executive director of the EV practice at J.D. Power, said, "Recent vehicle launches from both new brands and traditional automakers have had a profound effect on what factors are most important in the ownership experience. Today’s EV owners are looking for quality, reliability, driving enjoyment, safety and technology features." The Mini, in fact, scored highest of any premium and mass-market EV in the studyÂ’s highest-weighted index factor, quality and reliability.
