2008 MINI COOPER
I am pleased to offer this amazing 2008 Mini Cooper 6 speed with very low miles. This Mini is near new in appearance both inside and out. I have posted many pictures to show how new looking this Mini is. In review of the Carfax there is a notation of a minor accident report to the right rear and it appears that this damage still exists and I have provided a picture of that. Frankly that is the only flaw that I could find on this Mini. The paint is beautiful and free of any unsightly marks, scratches or dings. All of the lights, lenses etc. are as new. All of the glass is as new. The interior is near perfect with great looking rubber floor mats. The books and both keys along with the window sticker will come with the car. There are no mechanical issues and in fact has a brand new clutch. The Mini is a ball to drive and performs like a new car. This Mini is loaded with options including both the cold weather package and Premium package. Features include power folding mirrors, heated mirrors, washer jets and heated seats. Premium package includes dual panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, Mini HiFi sound system, 16” alloy wheels, multi-function steering wheel, sports leather steering wheel, brushed alloy interior surfaces, center armrest, fog lights, blue tooth and USB/Ipod adaptor as well as a neat little navigation device which does not show on the options list. The 1947 Desoto flying lady hood ornament was also not listed on the option list. This Mini was sold by Hendrick Mini of Charlotte, NC so it has always been a southern car. KY bidders will add 6% usage tax and $199 transfer/doc fees. Out of state residents will add $128 to cover title fees, mailing costs, temporary tags, etc. Contact to be made by winning bidder within business 24 hours and a minimum partial payment to be made within 72 hours of auction end. The partial payment is non-refundable, unless we fail to deliver the goods as described. Balance will be due within 7 business days of the close of the auction. Any exceptions to be worked out before the completion of the sale. Auctions ending on a Friday or holiday will be addressed the follow business day. We will be happy to assist the new owner in arranging transportation from our nearby airport, Lexington Bluegrass Field, at no extra charge.

Mini will be ending custom orders of the current R56 Cooper Hardtop ahead of the retooling process for the new F56 Mini. That means owners who aren't enamored with what they've seen of the model's new look but still want a personalized version of the tossable hot hatch had best get down to their local Mini dealership and submit their order post-haste.
According to Mini enthusiast site Motoringfile, all orders must be submitted by August 28 in order to get a custom build. Orders are also locked in after that, so if you do get one of the spots, make sure you're absolutely content with the car you order. This cutoff will affect all models of the Hardtop, including the John Cooper Works model.
After August 28, owners will need to wait for the new Hardtop to arrive, which Motoringfile estimates will be in March of 2014. If you miss out on this final allocation of hardtops, all is not lost, however. Mini will still accept personalized orders on other bodystyles, which won't be replaced by F56-based models for some time.

Soon, not all BMW 5 Series models will be assembled by BMW. Yes, we know that sounds strange, but it's not at all uncommon. For instance, the Mini Paceman and Countryman hatchbacks – and remember, the Mini brand is owned by BMW – are assembled in Graz, Austria, by Magna Steyr, a company that specializes in building cars for other automakers. Soon, though, the contract Mini has with Magna Steyr will be coming to an end, and that means the Austrian company will have excess capacity on its hands. That production capacity will be filled soon enough, however, by BMW 5 Series models, according to a report from Automobil Produktion in Germany. Magna Steyr will build between 50,000 and 70,000 of BMW's mid-level model, according to the report, but there's no indication of which 5 Series model or models (and there are many shapes and sizes to choose...) will be moved to Austria from BMW's plant in Dingolfing in southern Germany. With 373,053 units sold in 2014, the 5 Series is BMW's second-most-popular model, after the 3 Series. BMW told Automotive News Europe that it doesn't comment on those kinds of reports, which, as is usually the case, is neither confirmation nor denial. It's worth noting that the two-door Mini Paceman isn't a part of the brand's plans moving past 2015, though the Countryman soft-roader that currently stands as the largest member of the automaker's family will soldier on.
