2012 MINI John Cooper Works for Sale!  The car only has 27,700 miles on the odometer and is in great shape. All maintenance has been performed on schedule by BMW/Mini dealerships. The only modification to the car is a strut tower brace for improved chassis stiffness. The car currently rides on performance all-season run-flats. A full set of the stock summer high performance tires will be included (these are not cheap!!!).

Options include:
-Heated Seats
-Automatic Climate Control
-Power Fold-away Mirrors
-Auto-dimming Rearview Mirror
-Panoramic Moonroof
-Rain Sensing Automatic Wipers

If you've done your research, then you know the JCW MINI is a big step above even the S model. It has factory engine upgrades bringing the total power output to 208hp (21hp over the S model). The brakes are larger and incredibly powerful...they will throw you through the windshield if you lay on them hard! The front differential is capable of 90% power transfer as opposed to the standard and S model which are only capable of 40% power transfer. The interior and exterior color combinations are unique to the JCW model, along with the grey faced gauges, which look much nicer than the white face gauges found in the lesser models. Additionally, the JCW model allows the driver to switch off all the traction and electronic stability control, giving the person behind the wheel complete control of the vehicle. All this and 33 mpg!!! Few sports cars have the power to weight ratio, handling, economy, and timeless styling of these cars.

This car looks and drives excellent. I hate to let it go, but my situation dictates I purchase a truck for my work and I have limited parking. My loss is some lucky buyer's gain! Serious buyers only, please.

This vehicle is also for sale locally; I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.

2020 Mini Cooper John Cooper Works GP is relatively efficient

Mon, Apr 6 2020

The 2020 Mini Cooper John Cooper Works GP is on track to be a heck of a hot hatch what with its over-the-top styling and 301 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. It's also going to be a bit more frugal than the competition. We know this because the EPA released fuel economy numbers for the little monster. In town, the GP will return 24 miles per gallon, and it will get 30 mpg on the highway. Combined driving will result in 26 mpg. The Volkswagen Golf R with it dual-clutch automatic ties the Mini on the highway and in combined driving, but is down by 1 mpg in town. The Honda Civic Type R and Hyundai Veloster N each get worse fuel economy across the board. Both get 22 mpg in town and 25 in combined driving. The Honda then gets 28 mpg on the highway and the Hyundai gets 29 mpg. In defense of the other cars, they are more practical, as they all have usable rear seats, whereas the Mini has ditched its vestigial rear chairs. The Honda and the Hyundai also only come with manual transmissions, which nowadays aren't usually as efficient as automatic transmissions. But on the other hand, the Mini makes more power than all but the Honda, which beats it by only by 5 horses, and it makes substantially more torque than the rest. Regardless, if you happen to want to use just a bit less fuel in your hot hatchback, the Mini may be the choice for you. Related Video:

Next-generation Mini Cooper electric car caught in spy photos

Thu, Mar 18 2021

Though the current generation of Mini Hardtop just got a refresh, it seems a new generation is around the corner. That new model appears in the spy photos above, and in electric form no less. At first glance, it doesn't look very different, but there are many small changes that add up to make it distinctly its own. At the front, the headlights appear to be more circular than the slightly ovoid units of the current model. They look as though they wrap a little more around the fenders, too. The grille appears to be enlarged a bit to match the bigger headlights, and the changes give the car even more of a cute, wide-eyed appearance than before. Other interesting things to note are that the hood scoop may be going away, as the one on this car is a fake. The hood cut lines also seem to go through to the wheel arches. Other subtle changes are revealed in profile. The front overhang looks slightly reduced, and the windshield looks more raked. Part of that appears to be because of the base being moved slightly forward. Not only has the windshield become more raked, so has the rear window. It's hidden by the newly added aerodynamic fairings below the rear spoiler. Finally, we can see the chrome, refrigerator-style door grab handles are gone in favor of more flush-fitting handles, and the charging door has changed sides to the left of the car. The back doesn't reveal much unusual, but the taillights have more square-like proportions, and they seem to fit more flushly to the body. There also appear to be some cut lines through the taillight area, so there may be more going on under the camouflage than we can see right now. We also get a small glimpse of the interior. It looks like there's a wide screen across much of the dash. It's in keeping with current car design trends, but is a major departure from the retro-inspired design of past Minis. The prototype we see here looks pretty far along in development. With that in mind, along with recent reports, the new model may be launched in 2023. It will likely be accompanied by gas-powered versions, since 2025 is the cut-off date for the last new gas-powered Mini option, and 2030 is the point where the brand will be fully electric. Mini Aceman spy photos show strong relation to concept

Wed, Nov 23 2022

When Mini revealed the Aceman concept earlier this year, the automaker made it clear that it previewed an upcoming model. That production model is what you see here under the camouflage. And it seems the little electric crossover is hewing close to the concept's lines. The overall shape is classic Mini with a two-box layout, floating, contrasting roof and wheels pushed to the corners. It of course has big headlights at the front, and they have the bevelled edges of the concept. We can just make out the edges of a grille panel like on the concept. Of course it's difficult to see, being solid, a result of the car being an EV.  Moving around the car, we find the semi-flush door handles that BMW has come to like. The concept's wide hatch opening and multi-segment LED taillights seem to have made it to production without much change, too. The camouflage makes it hard to tell whether the squared-off contrast fender flares of the concept are sticking around, but considering how much else is true to form, we'd expect them to show up. The Aceman will fit between the new Mini hatchback and the Countryman SUV. Previous spy shots of the Countryman have shown that it's a fair bit longer at the rear than this Aceman. We're expecting it Aceman go into production in 2024, likely with a reveal sometime next year.  Related video: This content is hosted by a third party.
