1992 Classic Mini - British Open in Racing Green Color
This car is made in 1992 and the VIN# SAXXNYAXMBD051811
The Mini British Open was introduced by Rover (Ex-Austin) in 1991 first in UK for a total production of 1,000 units and later introduced to Germany with Left-Hand Drive in 1992 for another production of 1,000 units. Typically the British Open has a power sliding cloth roof with 1275 c.c. and they are all in racing green color with the British Open logo on two sides and at the back. They all have beige cloth seats.
This British Open Mini has all of the above. It was imported from Germany 3 years ago and it was repainted in the same racing green color after it arrived Toronto. A few upgrade had been made, such as a performance exhaust, performance air-filter and a set of new alloy wheels and tires. Other than that the car has most of the original features and parts. The car also comes with the original fuel injection, therefore the engine is very easy to start up. The power sliding roof is working very well without leaking. It has never been driven in winter and it is always kept in a covered garage.
The car is in very good running condition. Since it is a 20-year old car, there is no warranty and the car is sold "AS IS". Serious buyer can make an appointment for inspection or test drive. The car is located in Markham (25 miles north of Toronto).
The successful bidder needs to pick up the car himself or make arrangement for shipping at his own cost. He has to make a deposit of US$500 within 48 hours after the auction is close and the balance can be paid in cash, wired transfer or bank draft issued by a Bank acceptable by the Seller.
SERIOUS BUYER TO BID ONLY AND ENJOY THE AUCTION.

Mini Clubman Concept isn't mini, isn't a Clubman
Wed, 05 Mar 2014Hey, remember when Mini was... mini? I know, you've heard all this before. But seriously.
Take this new Mini Clubman Concept, for example. As you'll recall, the current Clubman slots in between the Hardtop and Countryman models in the Mini lineup. But because the new, third-generation Mini has grown, so has everything else. And in fact, the concept car seen here is actually 4.4 inches longer and just over 2 inches wider than the current, already-large Countryman. The future of Mini looks awfully maxi.
Furthermore, the Clubman as we know it uses a weird, five-door layout (two up front, a third, suicide door, and two barn doors out back), but this concept adds a sixth door for a decidedly more conventional layout. Of course, four real doors for passengers sort of takes the uniqueness out of the Clubman package, and essentially makes this thing a not-as-tall, front-wheel-drive Countryman. Totally necessary, right?
Lexus tops JD Power Vehicle Dependability Study again, Buick bests Toyota
Wed, Feb 25 2015It shouldn't surprise anyone, but Lexus has once again taken the top spot in JD Power's Vehicle Dependability Study. That'd be the Japanese luxury brand's fourth straight year at the top of table. The big news, though, is the rise of Buick. General Motor's near-premium brand beat out Toyota to take second place, with 110 problems per 100 vehicles compared to Toyota's 111 problems. Lexus owners only reported 89 problems per 100 vehicles. Besides Buick's three-position jump, Scion enjoyed a major improvement, jumping 13 positions from 2014. Ram and Mitsubishi made big gains, as well, moving up 11 and 10 positions, respectively. In terms of individual segments, GM and Toyota both excelled, taking home seven segment awards each. The study wasn't good news for all involved, though. A number of popular automakers finished below the industry average of 147 problems per 100 vehicles, including Subaru, (157PP100), Volkswagen (165PP100), Ford/Hyundai (188PP100 each) and Mini (193PP100). The biggest losers (by a tremendous margin, we might add) were Land Rover and Fiat, recording 258 and 273 problems per 100 vehicles. The next closest brand was Jeep, with 197PP100. While the Vehicle Dependability Study uses the same measurement system as the Initial Quality Survey, the two metrics analyze very different things. The VDS looks at problems experienced by original owners of model year 2012 vehicles over the past 12 months, while the oft-quoted IQS focuses on problems in the first 90 days of new-vehicle ownership. Like the IQS, though, the VDS has a rather broad definition of what a problem is. Because of that, a low score from JD Power is no guarantee of extreme unreliability, so much as just poor design. In this most recent study, the two most reported problems focused on Bluetooth connectivity and the voice-command systems. The former leaves plenty of room for user error due to poor design (particularly true of the Bluetooth systems on the low-scoring Fords, Volkswagens and Subarus), while the second is something JD Power has already confirmed as being universally terrible. That makes means that while these studies are important, they shouldn't be taken as gospel when it comes to automotive reliability. 2014 Mini Cooper goes to the dogs
Tue, 17 Dec 2013We wouldn't buy a car to make a dog happy, but Mini's latest commercial, Bullheaded, would have you believe that dogs like the new 2014 Cooper as much as humans. Regardless of the commercial's target audience (Spike The Bulldog, or his owner?), it does show a couple new tidbits about the car, such as the new center dial touchscreen, ambient lighting and the nifty tinted pop-up display on top of the dashboard that reminds us of the head-up display on the new Mazda3.
Head below to watch Spike and his owner drive the Mini in Downtown Los Angeles (and the back lots of Paramount), and to get a behind-the-scenes look at how the commercial was made.
