Arrived today. Looks great! Took a while to get it cranked, but finally successful - Steve, Birmingham

Wanted you to know that the Mini arrived in KC on Monday and I picked it up yesterday.  The photos are in front of my garage.  Thanks!  Nice job!  It came through fine. Ken, Kansas City

As soon as I get the cars registered I will enjoy them I cruised them around for a little when they arrived and caught quite a few eyes. Thank you and hope you can finalize everything soon. Matt in California

Just wanted to share that the Mini arrived today @ my home in Thunder Bay, ON.  She looks good and I'm sure will be most enjoyable.  From Jon and wife

The mini finally arrived last week, and was handed over to me on Sunday. It looks great. Maryam, Abu Dhabi

I drove the mini to the gas station since it was on empty.  It flew like a bat out of hell. Minis are a rarity here.  When I was at the gas station people were taking pictures. From Terry in Seattle

Help Mini decide on its next limited-edition Cooper

Mon, 17 Feb 2014

Mini likes to make a big hullabaloo about the number of ways its cars can be configured, which currently stands at 10 million. While that figure is impressive, the BMW-owned brand is always looking for new and unique design variations, a trend that has seen a number of special-edition Minis pop up over the years boasting unique color and trim items.
For the new, third-generation F56 Mini, the British brand is at it again. Only this time, the cars are designed and chosen by Mini's fans in a new contest. Called "The New Originals," Mini teamed its 10 Final Test Test Drive winners with an illustrator to design their perfect Mini, one of which will become the next special-edition model.
The ten cars are currently being voted on by the brand's fans on the Mini USA website, with the winner set to be announced at the 2014 New York Auto Show in April. A total of 56 examples of the winning entry will then be put on sale, making this one of the most limited of Mini's many limited editions. Voting closes on February 19, so hop over to the page and vote for your favorite.

Mini John Cooper Works gets ready to rumble

Fri, 14 Nov 2014

Mini gave us our first taste of its next-generation John Cooper Works Hardtop in concept form at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. And in fact, we already know that the production version will make its debut at the 2015 Detroit show in January. Fitting, then, that this most recent round of spy shots shows a JCW that's pretty much ready to roll - peel back that yellow swirly paper, and you've pretty much got the final deal.
It's easy to make out the final design for the revised front and rear fascias, and we can clearly see a more robust brake package nestled behind those alloy wheels. Speaking of, we must admit, the wheels here look rather pedestrian for a JCW model, but they could just be prototype rollers and not indicative of the final rolling stock. We expect the flashy red decals of the concept to be offered on the production model, as well, though they could be optional kit.
As reported earlier, power is expected to come from a 230-horsepower turbo-four - a modest increase over the 208 hp from the outgoing Mini JCW. Expect that to route through a six-speed manual transmission, sending turbocharged oomph to the front wheels.

Classic Rover Mini is a passion-inspiring plaything

Sun, 01 Sep 2013

Ask anyone that's driven a classic Mini, and they'll probably tell you that their first reaction to driving it was a lot like the start of this video - whooping, shouting, laughing and a whole lot of smiling. This video, from Jon Quirk, editor-in-chief at Auto Trader UK, highlights the connection between him and his Rover Mini Paul Smith. He really nails the man-machine interface that makes owning a great car so much fun. Besides that, Quirk does a good job of enumerating what is so enjoyable about driving a fun car on a twisting road.
For our British readers, this video is also meant to test the waters for a new format from Auto Trader UK, called "I Bought One." With Quirk's Mini, the car-buying site is looking at telling the story of people and their interesting cars. We think this video is a great start, with high production value and solid content. Head on over to the YouTube channel, and let them know what you think. But first, scroll on down for the entire video on this awesome Rover Mini.
