Owners Thoughts (if you care to read): I am the original owner of this 2006 Mini Cooper S JCW GP, which I have decided to sell because of my new job driving constraints. Let me first say that I have had a spare-no-expense approach to this car since I have owned it. Also, if you are new to knowing about this car just google it and you will quickly understand what it means to be an owner of a GP. This car is limited - only 415 shipped to the US and all of us original owners were put on a waiting list to get one. I have saved every piece of documentation including all of the flyers, mailers, and maintenance docs regarding this car. All service has been done either at Mini of Peabody in Peabody, MA or Turner Motorsport in Amesbury, MA. Over the 8 years of owning this car I have kept it garaged and pampered. The car has a few really small dents around the body from miscellaneous road pebbles, etc. and normal driving conditions (see photos). The body and paint otherwise is in excellent shape and is hard waxed 2 times a year. The last price I got from our local Dent Wizard to remove the dents was around 500 dollars which I factored in when pricing the car. I will do my best to take pictures of each dent for those who cannot come see the car in person. For those people who have serious interest in this car and are not local, I can video gchat (on my phone) with you if you would like a full real-time tour of the car in order to show you as much as possible. I also have the title in hand for those people who would need to register it and drive it home out of state (i.e. no waiting). I am also including numerous extras, as noted above, which are included in the list price. Please note: If you want a used Mini Cooper S (as opposed to a JCW GP) you probably should just buy a used Mini Cooper S, which you could pick up for 10k-15k anywhere. If you want a car that you rarely, if ever, see on the road and when you do, you pull over to meet the person (jump high five included), make note of the number on the roof, talk about how much you love the car, and what you have done to it, you probably are looking for a GP. Are you looking for the fastest production Mini ever made (pre 2013, new model might be a few clicks more)? Are you looking for the most bad-a$$ production Cooper ever made? If yes, then I would recommend the GP. I would also recommend reading the background about this car before jumping into emailing me questions. For instance, this car has no back seats, nor a rear windshield wiper...do your research, please. Also take a look and inform yourself to what other GP's are selling for. Do not compare a GP to any other John Cooper Works or S models. There are not many for sale out there, some are collector minded and some are low miles. There are a lot of forums out there for GP owners too - sign up and ask some questions if you need to. If you have any other specific questions please do not hesitate to ask, but please do not waste my or your time 'tire kicking' or nickel and dimming me. This is a serious car for a serious and spirited driver who loves Mini and wants the coolest one made to date. Thanks for reading and checking out this listing. p.s. all modifications/upgrades to this car can be undone however I have taken tremendous care to conceal aftermarket items in order to preserve this special edition car, while still upgrading beyond some of the OEM Mini standard stuff. Additional Photos: Let me know and I can send you a link (the ebay gods do not allow it in the listing) There are a lot more photos and most have comments and descriptions. Leave me a comment if you have any questions. Shipping The car located in Massachusetts, the buyer is responsible for all shipment costs and coordination. I will help with timing and make myself available for test drives for serious buyers only. If the buyer needs to fly in to drive the car home, I am can meet at the airport or Bus stations locally. |

Mini Aceman debuts at Beijing Auto Show as a little, all-electric crossover
Wed, Apr 24 2024This here is the totally new Mini Aceman, and it’s an all-electric, Mini crossover. Splitting the size difference between the properly mini Mini Cooper and large Mini Countryman, it fills the space previously occupied by the now-discontinued Clubman, but does so without a gasoline-powered option (or cute barn doors in the rear). Before we get ahead of ourselves, though, MiniÂ’s made clear that the Aceman is not yet confirmed for U.S. sales, and the global debut itself just took place at the Beijing Auto Show. So, as of now, this little EV is definitely destined for international markets, but weÂ’ll need to wait and see if Mini sees fit to bring it here. Two versions will hit the market initially, the Aceman E and the Aceman SE. The base E is fitted with a single electric motor good for 184 horsepower and 214 pound-feet of torque, enough for a 0-62 mph time of 7.9 seconds. It also gets a 42.5-kilowatt-hour battery pack that Mini says gives it a 192-mile range on the optimistic WLTP test cycle – fast charging peaks at 75 kW in this model. Meanwhile, the Aceman SE gets a more potent electric motor good for 218 horsepower and 243 pound-feet of torque, reducing its 0-62 mph time to 7.1 seconds. The SE also gets a larger 54.2 kWh battery pack, increasing range to 252 miles on the WLTP cycle – it charges better than the E, too, peaking at 95 kW. Do note that both versions would cover much less ground on the EPA test, which is a more realistic barometer for real-world driving than the WLTP test. Coming in about 14 inches shorter and three inches narrower than the big Countryman, the Aceman is bound to be a more fun-to-drive and cheaper EV. We donÂ’t know much about its underpinnings now, but Mini says its suspension, steering, powertrain and braking systems are all tuned with fun driving in mind. Its outward appearance isnÂ’t a replica of, but closely follows the design direction proposed by the Aceman Concept back in 2022. Many elements weÂ’ve seen in the new Cooper and Countryman apply here, too, such as the customizable light patterns, flat surfacing and general minimalism to the styling. Wheel options between 17-19 inches will be available, and four different trims with varying styles will be, too. One of those four will be a JCW trim, but itÂ’s not meant to be a performance model, instead sticking to sporty appearance add-ons like a Chili Red roof and hood stripes alongside high-gloss black accents all around the exterior.
2020 Mini Cooper SE First Drive | Little range, big fun
Wed, Jan 29 2020The all-electric Mini Cooper has been a long time coming. The company’s first step toward electrics began in 2008 with the experimental Mini E, a car that used a powertrain co-developed with an outside company and that had some major compromises. It didn't have a back seat, there was even less cargo space than a regular Mini and it wasnÂ’t available to purchase, being offered in limited numbers for a short lease. More than a decade later, the 2020 Mini Cooper SE is available for purchase or lease to anyone, and offers the complete Mini experience, with in-house BMW-Mini technology and fewer compromises. ThatÂ’s also how Mini is marketing the Cooper SE: The S in the name is there to tell you it's as much fun to toss around as the grin-inducing Cooper S. The blunted performance from extra weight and limited range might say otherwise, but from behind the wheel, this is a Mini worthy of its S, and not some fun-challenged economy-mobile. The powertrain uses the same electric motor youÂ’ll find in a BMW i3. It makes 181 horsepower and 199 pound-feet of torque, which is just 8 hp and 8 lb-ft less than the gas Cooper S. Weight is an issue for performance numbers, since the 3,153 lbs SE lugs around an extra 453 lbs compared with its gas sibling. That reduces its 0-60 mph time from 6.5 seconds to 6.9, and its top speed also drops to just 93 mph as a function of its single-speed transmission. But a half-second to 60 mph is less significant from behind the wheel. Simply put, the Mini Cooper SE feels sprightly. It has the electric motor trademark of instant throttle response, which is amplified by the more aggressive throttle setting in Sport mode. The other trademark is a big lump of torque, though not quite as much as the tire-torching Chevy Bolt EV or Hyundai Kona Electric. These characteristics make the Mini fun for squirting around town and for making passes on the highway. Power starts falling off if you keep your foot down, so on-ramps arenÂ’t as thrilling as the longer-legged gas Minis. Also impressive are the regenerative braking modes. The Cooper SE has a mild mode and an aggressive one, with the former feeling a bit like the engine braking in a manual-equipped gas car, and the heavy one making it easy to drive with one pedal. The extra weight doesnÂ’t hinder handling. In fact, there may be some incremental improvements, as the electric Mini has a 50/50 front/rear weight distribution, better than the front biased gas Minis.
Top Gear caught filming Best of British near Buckingham Palace
Mon, 24 Jun 2013YouTuber and car-fan extraordinaire Shmee probably had very little trouble tracking down the Top Gear film crew recently, as the group was putting together an episode that could accurately be described as "excessive." With its flag-waving (literally) Best of British theme, the TG guys gathered a jaw-dropping array of British cars, and parked them all right in front of Buckingham Palace to make extra sure that the point was driven home.
Top Gear hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May were outfitted with a trio of Jaguar F-Types festooned with gigantic Union Jacks, with which to survey the landscape of British motoring glory. In the video below, you'll see that this includes any number of Mini, Aston Martin, Lotus, McLaren, Land Rover, Bentley and Rolls-Royce models (just to name a few), as well as a healthy dose of weird stuff that most people would never guess at being built in the UK. The lawnmowers and military vehicles are especially cool.
