Up for sale is my 2005 MINI Cooper S. I am the original owner. I custom ordered this from MINI back in September 2004. I have maintained this vehicle as best as possible and it runs great. I have used it on a daily basis. My fiance currently drives it to the train station for his daily commute so the mileage will be slightly higher than shown on the odometer. It will be hard to part with this, but I am ready to purchase a new vehicle. I value keeping my cars in excellent condition and I have all past service records, which can be provided at pick-up. I will be listing this locally as well and reserve the right to end this listing early for a local buyer. If you would like to view the vehicle in person, please contact me to arrange a time. I do work full-time so late evenings or weekends work best. I set the reserve price equal to my trade-in offer from my local MINI dealership.
  • Condition: Very Good condition. There are some minor scratches and paint chips, please see pictures. I tried to highlight every possible flaw that I could find.
    • Tires have about 3mm of tread until they reach the wear indicators -- they are good for this year, but you may want to replace them before next winter.
    • Front brakes have about 30% life remaining, again you may want to replace them in the next year.
    • The front passenger strut mount is cracked and should be replaced in the next year.
    • The E-Brake end cap is broken off.
    • There is some surface rust underneath the passenger side muffler.
  • Features: Everything already indicated in the details of the listing. If you have a question about a specific feature, please ask. Some extra features:
    • Dual heated front seats
    • Premium audio, includes i-Pod USB connector
    • Fog lights
    • Power everything except seats: windows, locks, moonroof
    • Rear spoiler
  • History: I am going to list all significant recent work and service that has been completed starting with the most recent date. Again, I have all service receipts for this work that I can provide to the new owner.
    • Hand/E-brake cables replaced 3/24/14
    • Rear hatch door cylinders replaced 3/24/14
    • Oil change, synthetic 3/18/14
    • Oil pan replaced, oil pan gasket replaced 3/18/14

  • Payment and Pick-up: $500 non-refundable deposit is required via PayPal within 24 hours of auction end. Remainder of payment is due in person. If paying in person, I prefer cash. If you want to pay by certified/bank check, we will meet at the Buyer's bank to complete the purchase so that funds can be verified. Sale is final, and car is sold AS-IS.

Despite Mini's woes, Clubman sales surging

Mon, Apr 4 2016

The Mini Clubman has a polarizing design, but those who like it are snapping it up. According to Automotive News, the Clubman is on pace to become Mini USA's best selling model. Almost 1,700 vehicles were sold during the first quarter of 2016, and the vast majority – 1,037 units – were sold last month alone. These facts are made all the more noteworthy because Mini's sales fell 15 percent during the first quarter. The surging sales of Mini's newest model are especially good news for the brand's coffers. The Clubman is the most expensive non- John Cooper Works model you can get, aside from the upcoming Convertible. It doesn't sound like there are too many Clubman models going for the $24,950 starting price, either. According to Mini Dealer Council Chairman Michael Vadasz, dealers are doing solid business on customized orders, which, he tells AN, "is what Mini is all about." About one in four Minis built today are custom orders submitted by consumers, who love taking advantage of the Porsche-like breadth of a la carte options, no matter what it does to the final price. The fact that Mini is seeing so many custom Clubmans, then, is a very good thing. As for why the Clubman is doing so well, Mini USA Vice President David Duncan says it's because the car just isn't so Mini, moving the brand beyond its traditional subcompact class to the compact segment, where it can challenge cars like the Audi A3. "We see that as a fast growing segment, so having an entry in there gives us that opportunity," Duncan told Automotive News. "And then when you look at the car itself, it's got a premiumness about it that really takes us to the next level and allows us to compete against brands that we weren't typically competing against." Mini recalls nearly 100,000 cars for potential electrical fire risk

Fri, May 26 2023

Mini is recalling more than 97,000 cars to address a potential fire risk. The recall covers the 2008-2014 Mini Clubman (including Cooper, Cooper S and John Cooper Works models) and the 2007-2013 Mini Hardtop 2 Door (again encompassing Cooper, Cooper S, John Cooper Works variants). In both models, a control module beneath the driver-side A-pillar is susceptible to water intrusion under certain circumstances. If the electronics inside are exposed to water, a short circuit may occur, which Mini says could lead to a "thermal event" — engineer speak for "fire." While Mini says there are multiple circumstances under which the module can become compromised, the recall is currently limited to models sold in climates where the use of road salt is prevalent. In this environment, road salt entering the cabin via normal means (read: your boots) can accelerate corrosion if water is getting into the cabin. How might that happen? Mini says a common culprit is its own sunroof drain. Here's the full explanation, lifted directly from Mini's defect report: This safety recall involves the Footwell Control Module (FRM), an Electronic Control Unit (ECU) which controls various lighting and power window functions, and is installed near the bottom of the driverÂ’s side A-pillar behind an interior trim panel. Due to several contributing factors (environmental, certain US StatesÂ’ wintertime road treatment, vehicle design configuration and age), over time, the FRM could become susceptible to corrosion. For vehicles equipped with a sunroof, after a multi-year period involving large temperature changes, multiple freeze/thaw cycles can cause the vehicleÂ’s sunroof drain hose to become damaged, loosen and eventually detach from the drain pipe within the A-pillar, which could allow water to enter the vehicle interior. In certain US states, large amounts of road salt may be utilized during their wintertime road treatment activities. If water were to enter the interior, then in combination with road salt that may be present in the footwell, this could create an electrolyte solution. If this solution were to contact the FRM then, over time, this could lead to corrosion, possibly resulting in a short circuit. In rare cases, this could lead to a thermal event.

Mini Clubman Final Edition could be the end of the Clubman line

Thu, Mar 23 2023

The Mini range is in for an enormous overhaul next model year, the little Anglo-German hatchbacks getting more mature, more roomy, more powertrains, more digital. The Clubman trim could be saying goodbye for good, the wagon's restrained dimensions perhaps not a fit for where Mini's going. For 1,969 buyers around the world, the Mini Clubman Final Edition will be a way to say "Farewell." As with the Mini Convertible Seaside Edition, the Clubman Final Edition commemorates the birth of the original Clubman produced from 1969 to 1981. It's available in three colors: Enigmatic Black, Melting Silver, and Nanuq White. Those base hues will be accented by Shimmer Copper trim on the grille and fender vents, as well as three stripes running up the passenger's side of the hood. Another three Shimmer Copper stripes run along the lower sides underlining the "1 of 1969" badge on the C-pillar. The wagon sits on 18-inch wheels with a two-tone Final Edition Spoke lacquered to recall copper.  The side sills carry "Final Edition" lettering at the threshold to the front seats, and a "1969" badge across the rear threshold. Inside, there are a lot more warm brown and badging to behold. Three-tone Mini Yours leather sports seats are far flashier than anything from 1969, set off by anthracite Piquet fabric, blue contrast stitching, stitched badging and a copper-colored button. A range of "Final Edition" and "1 of 1969" notifiers run appear on the steering wheel, instrument panel, and floor mats.  Depending on market, the Clubman Final Edition can be ordered in Cooper and Cooper S trims, with any available powertrain including diesel, and in two- or four-wheel drive. We're not sure how many will come to the U.S., if any, nor what they will cost, so check with your dealer. The 100 specials being sent to the UK will start at GBP37,000 ($45,250 U.S.) on-the-road, about GBP10,000 ($12,230 U.S.) above an entry-level Clubman Cooper Classic.
