Almost New Mini Cooper S, Loaded With Options 9600 Mi. 33k List! *look* on 2040-cars
Scottsdale, Arizona, United States
|
This is NOT your run of the mill used Mini Cooper! I ordered this car for myself in 2008 and ran down the option list missing only the navigation system as I felt it was a silly option. Everything else, was added! Most of the cars out there were produced for the lot and lack many of the options to keep the pricing down. Not this one...it was for ME! This car is a fair weather car only as I have other cars to drive...this is my "fun" car and it has fulfilled my every dream! Its fun to drive and it gets great gas mileage too! I relocated the car to my second home in Arizona in 2012(it was the best long drive I ever had) and now I have the desire to have a convertible to drive when I am there so I have to part with my beloved Mini. Option list is: MSRP $21,200.plus $650 delivery Lounge Leather Seating $2000 Convenience Package $1500 Cold Weather Package $500 Premium Package $ 1500 Anthracite Headliner $250 17" rims $750 Steptronic Trans $1250 Stability Control $500 Chrome line interior $250 Rear Fog Lamps $100 Xenon headlight $500 Satalite radio $1000 subscription is paid FOREVER! White Turn Signals $100 JCW side skirts $ 1500 plus labor Mini car cover, mini checkered side scuttles, professional window tint, Lamin-X over headlights, Carbon Fiber trim, Viper stripes, and on and on............ Look at the pictures and see for yourself. I even have donut spare tire in case you want to take it on a long trip like I did ( S models do not come with spare. they have run-flat tires) The most recent full service has been done by Scottsdale Mini this January and all service updates have been performed. I have all records for the car since it was delivered. It is absolutely like a new car! Not a scratch, nick, ding EVER!..... NOTHING but a brand new car! All rims are perfect as well. Having spent most of its life under a cover, in a climate controlled garage, and on a battery tender, the car looks as if it was delivered yesterday!. While I am very proud of my car, I am also realistic that it has depreciated over the years and will make the second owner a great car at a great price! No sales tax as I am a private party. My reserve reflects the current market value. The reason for selling is I have the "hots" for a convertible or I would keep this forever....wife says "one toy at a time" so it has to go....plus the garage is getting cramped! If you have any questions, please ask before you bid. Any shipping costs are not included in this auction. Please budget this when bidding as it will be additional unless you plan to pick the car up. |

2019 Mini E Countryman Review | Not a great plug-in hybrid, but still great
Thu, Apr 25 2019At first glance, the 2019 Mini E Countryman plug-in hybrid is wildly unimpressive. It can only go a meager 12 miles on electricity alone, and when out of plugged-in electrons its turbocharged three-cylinder engine manages an EPA-estimated 27 mpg in combined driving. Pretty good for a compact SUV, but crap for a hybrid. Its price tag is eye-watering. Although it starts at $37,750, including $850 destination, my test Countryman hit the register at $45,750 and still didn't have power seats, leather, satellite radio, adaptive cruise control, and other items that should be included on a vehicle at this price range in this segment (compact SUVs like the Mercedes GLA or Volvo XC40). Admittedly, if you skip our test car's $2,000 John Cooper Works Appearance package (not a bad idea), you can add some of those extra niceties instead, but the price would still be steep. An E Countryman, or 2019 Mini Cooper S E Countryman ALL4 as it's officially and ridiculously known, is roughly about $4,000 more than a comparable gas-only Cooper S Countryman ALL4. There are some functional disadvantages as well. The plug-in hybrid lacks the regular Countryman's sliding back seat that adds cargo space without folding the seat backs and therefore wiping out passenger space (see video below). It also has only about 30 percent of the under-floor storage available in the cargo area, the result of the batteries needing to go somewhere. Now, Senior Editor Alex Kierstein reports that he found the E Countryman to still be perfectly space efficient. There was sufficient room for his wife to sit up front with a rear-facing baby seat behind her and a big stroller in the trunk. Still, he would've had even more room in the regular Countryman. The bottom suitcase in the right photo would not fit in the E Countryman since it lacks this regular version's removable floor panel. Really, all the above issues make the plug-in hybrid version of the Countryman a little hard to recommend ... at first. At second, third and fourth glances, it actually starts to make a lot more sense. Sure it only went between 10 and 12 miles on electricity after I recharged it, but hey, that's still 10 to 12 miles further than any other Mini can muster. You can even utilize the "Save Mode" that allows you save that electric range for times when you know it'll be most beneficial (say, the urban-driving conclusion to the morning commute).
'Why isn't he stopping?' Mini driver describes being pushed sideways by dump truck
Thu, Mar 25 2021Yesterday, a video out of Toronto made the rounds on social media. It was scary to watch, as a dump truck pushed a Mini sideways a half-kilometer (third of a mile). But there were no details about why this accident happened or who was involved. Today, we know more:  This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Courtenay Erhardt, 26, is a nurse who was driving her Mini to a coronavirus vaccination site to administer shots to homeless people. She says she was waiting at a stoplight before heading up an onramp. “I was in front of him at that stoplight. We were both trying to get onto the Gardiner (Expressway)," she told the Toronto Star, which has a photo of Erhardt and a close-up look at the Mini stuck to the Kenworth's bumper. "He hit me from behind when we were merging." "[The dump truck] just sort of bumped my back rear-end and unfortunately I went sideways and the truck just continued to go up the ramp," Erhardt told CTV News Toronto. "I just remember holding my horn and my steering wheel and just screaming. Just like bawling and screaming. I honestly didn't know if my Mini was going to flip, or veer out into oncoming traffic on the Gardiner," she said. "I just remember thinking, 'Why isn't he stopping? Why is he still going?'" A couple in another car behind the truck saw smoke coming off the truck and knew something was wrong, Erhardt said. They pulled up alongside her, saw what was going on, then pulled ahead of the truck and forced it to stop. They called 911 and helped Erhardt escape her car. The truck driver, Erhardt said, emerged. “He said, ‘I didnÂ’t see youÂ’ and asked me not to call the cops. He asked if he could pay for the damages. He was young.” He has been charged with several offenses, Toronto police said. Police Sgt. Murray Campbell released a statement to CTV saying, "Operators of large vehicles do not have the benefit of such lower/smaller vehicles, in their ability to see out of windows in all directions," implying the truck driver couldn't see the small car beneath his hood. Campbell advised motorists to make sure they can see truck drivers so the truck drivers can see them. Which is good advice. That said, this truck driver surely felt that something was wrong — and heard the sounds that we can hear in the video. Erhardt, though terrified, was not injured. She credits the couple who helped her, along with the Mini Cooper.
Drive On The Left | The List #0033
Thu, Jul 14 2016When you've been driving on the right side of the road your whole life, driving on the left can be incredibly disorienting. In this episode of The List, hosts Jessi Combs and Patrick McIntyre brave the traffic-filled streets of London as they take in the sights in a Mini Cooper. "London is not a driving city. There are millions of people and millions of cars," said Patrick. "And the streets seem to have been laid out at random over the centuries." Even Jessi found herself battling old habits in the right-hand drive Mini. "I've already gone over to reach for the door twice to shift it," she said. Our hosts dig into the history behind the traffic swap on the other side of the pond as they attempt to check "Drive On The Left" off their List.
