I am sure I am close to having her running. This vehicle is cranking, windows, lights, power locks work. horn, Radio powers on!  Picked up a cam sensor today and have not installed it yet.

I purchased the car just about a year ago. It came from New Jersey with as a Salvage title (flood). TItle in hand, processed now by State of Massachusetts. I was happy the day of delivery. My electrical engineer friend gave me my stamp of approval and told me I bought a solid car.  Upon first encountering water the interior was removed, the majority of the interior is now back in place. There is no odor. (If there ever was a correct way to address a car that took on water this is it.)

-popped in a new NAPA battery. At the time, I could not get the dash to light up.  Purchased a New Fuse box.  Still no dash lights. Purchased matching car computer.  still nothing.  New ECU from ebay still nothing.

Tax seasons came. Got it out of winter storage, and to a local shop.  All the cars electrical has been gone over with a fine tooth comb.  All connectors have been sprayed and cleaned.Dash lights on:), more parts later Cranking.. Catch up on the bill. grrr.  Part comes. Not getting fire to the plugs. Do test I found online on mini forum and test confirms no spark. Another part coil, still no..put in new plugs ..nothing  ahh..:(

If it is not a this cam sensor or wires (did not pick them up yet) there is a code that is the last 5 digits of the vin.  that i need to put in off the new computer from ebay?  I don't know but could use the cash more and finish the work on my home.Looks like someone else can get the satisfaction of cruising this down the road.  If I got it rolling I was going to toss a new exhaust on her. there is a small hole in but had it on the lift and it is a solid car. just stumped.  If you are handy. you can be the genius! Would be a nice vehicle for someone.  That computer new from the dealer is 1,400. I priced it.  Thought of maybe getting new one or one in it flashed cause it is good.  It wanted to run and like the new computer said oops new computer "do not reconize". 100% rating by the way! Thanks for looking.  When i get the cash, the title will be overnighted. Shipping must happen 48 hours after payment. Have receipts for work that is already been done. Will have to gather it up. Plus crank sensor registered official mini dealer. Message me with any specific questions.  Will try to take more pics and add them if it does not sell this 1st time around. As is, no warranty. Buyer will be responsible for shipping.

Have around 10,000-10,500 invested. Message me with any questions. Thanks for shopping!  Going to take some more photos this weekend if it did not sell yet?  Have a feeling it should be a quick sell!

Mini confirms first plug-in hybrid and it looks like it's based on the Countryman

Mon, Oct 17 2016

Mini confirmed Sunday it's developing its first plug-in hybrid model, apparently based on the Countryman. The hybrid will utilize an electric motor that works with a combustion engine, expected to be a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder unit. Though the actual name wasn't specified, Mini said the vehicle will have two driving modes. With Auto eDrive, it can reach speeds of up to 50 miles per hour. Switching into Max eDrive increases top speed to approximately 77 miles per hour. The electric motor sends all of its power to the rear wheels, while the combustion engine powers the front wheels. The engine only kicks on in certain situations. Mashing the throttle brings the engine to life, as does switching the car into "Save Battery" mode, which allows the engine to charge the hybrid's battery through a generator while powering the vehicle. The engine also comes on if the vehicle's all-wheel-drive-system senses a loss in traction. Inside, the changes include a yellow start/stop button (instead of red) and a power display in place of the traditional tachometer. Mini's previous electrification efforts included the Mini E, which had a range under 100 miles and was available for leasing in 2009. Expect the plug-in hybrid to debut in 2019. Mini bringing new 230-hp John Cooper Works to Detroit

Mon, 07 Jul 2014

Mini models may keep getting incrementally bigger, but then so do their engines. Or more powerful, anyway - especially when it comes to the John Cooper Works performance models. The JCW version of the first (post-revival) generation R50, which was really more of an upgraded Cooper S than its own model, packed a 1.6-liter supercharged four with 200 horsepower. The following R56 JCW upped that incrementally to 208 hp, but the next Works hatchback is now rumored to pack around 230 horses.
Tipped to be revealed in both three- and five-door body-styles at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show half a year from now, the F56-gen Mini John Cooper Works hatchback is expected to use the same 2.0-liter turbo four as the new Mini Cooper S, but increasing the output from 189 hp to approximately 230. That would mean it would be more powerful than either of the two previous John Cooper Works GP editions to make the new JCW the most powerful road-going Mini to date, backed by 285 pound-feet of torque driving through a six-speed manual or available automatic transmission to deliver what promises to be a blistering pace for the latest retro hatchback.

2014 Mini Cooper rockets into view

Mon, 01 Jul 2013

Here it is, all but undisguised. We've been clocking the 2014 Mini Cooper for months now, but engineers' well-placed camouflage has meant that our views have been very limited. Today, though, the disguises have been cast aside and the new Mini has been revealed in both standard and Cooper S form during a photo shoot, and there are some real surprises afoot.
For one, we had no idea that the Cooper would adopt the LED daytime running lamp corona headlamps from the much-loved 2011 Rocketman concept, but there they are, looking both unique and a little frightened. The front grille has been resculpted and and is now more rounded, integrating the bumper strike face in matte black. In fact, the entire nose looks a bit more rounded to our eyes, with all variants carrying a small but noticeable power bulge (shown here on the S model above the intake slot in the hood). The profile looks largely unchanged save for a slightly faster windshield, but the rear picks up a set of oversized taillamps that we'll likely have to see in person to get comfortable with. Our spy shooters tell us that the 2014 Cooper, codenamed F56, appears to be slightly larger in the metal than its predecessor, as expected, with much of that length coming in the form of a longer front overhang (perhaps to assist with pedestrian safety regulations).
Expected to ride atop the same UKL architecture shared with the upcoming BMW 1 Series GT and MPV, the entire line of Coopers may move to an all three-cylinder lineup, including BMW's 1.5-liter I3 that features a twin-scroll turbo, direct injection and variable valve timing, a combination good for anywhere between 120 to 200 horsepower. Eventually, higher-performance models could generate up to 300 horsepower out of this tiny engine. Our well-connected lensmen suggest that at least one four-cylinder engine might carry over to the launch of this new generation, but it may only be available for the first model year.
