2009 Mini Cooper S JCW The Toy Barn is thrilled to offer this ultra-low-mile John Cooper Works, boasting 208 turbocharged horses and mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox. The "JCW" S gets the full host of performance goodies: Brembo brakes, Corner Brake Control, Dynamic Traction Control, Electronic Differential Lock Control, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, and MUCH more, making this a serious performer and capable daily driver. This particular JCW has only 48k miles, and is absolutely beautiful inside and out. This JCW has a two-owner Cafax with perfect history, and by looking at it and getting to drive it, it certainly shows. The Laser Blue finish is excellent and free of any major damage or issues, with little evidence of wear (I'd be glad to go over the car with you panel by panel over the phone). The 17" Silver JCW wheels are excellent and the Continental performance tires still have ample tread remaining. From front to back, this car looks amazing. Inside, the Grey/Carbon Leatherette seats look fantastic and nearly new as well, as do the dash, door panels, etc. Again, you'll be hard-pressed to find one nicer. It is a beautiful car and will be sold with all of the books and manuals, and one key. This is a rare opportunity indeed!

JCW Tuning Kit comes to Mini Countryman and Clubman
Tue, Oct 31 2017Mini devoted one line in the middle of its SEMA press release to the limited-edition Ice Blue Cooper S Hardtop on show at SEMA. We'll give it a few more lines: the Ice Blue hue hasn't been available since 2013, and Mini's being coy about how long the color will hang around. Available on two-door Cooper models, the Ice Blue package adds optional features beyond color, like custom wheel caps and Mini Connected, and adds a few thousand dollars to the MSRP depending on which Cooper you start with. Ready for the big Mini news? The John Cooper Works Tuning Kit will soon be available for Cooper S and Cooper S ALL4 Countryman and Clubman; before now, the kit could only be had for the Cooper S hardtop and convertible. The kit juices horsepower up to 208 hp from 189 hp, and throws in another 14 pound-feet of torque to top out at 221 lb-ft. The stainless-steel exhaust reduces exhaust gas back pressure, and can be controlled via Bluetooth for Sport or Sport+ auditory response. Sport, we're told, is safe for any road, while Sport+ makes a track-only kind of cacophony. The back-end growl gets piped through either chrome or carbon fiber tailpipes. The JCW Tuning Kit goes on sale in January 2018 for $1,950, and can be installed at any Mini dealer. Mini unveils new, stripped down logo
Wed, Dec 13 2017Quirky British marque Mini is going with a ... less-than-quirky logo redesign, unveiling a "flat design" that it says is intended to focus on the essentials. It replaces the three-dimensional white-on-black logo that first appeared in 2000. Gone are the three-dimensional style, shading, gray tones and gray-on-black name of the previous version in favor of a stark contrast of black lines and the all-caps Mini name against a white background. It keeps the wings, which first featured on the iconic cars in the early 1960s, according to the Logos History blog, which has a comprehensive collection of logos stretching back to the brand's origins in 1959 under the British Motor Corp. and the Austin and Morris brand names. It also bears a visual similarity to the logo introduced during the mid-'90s. We're not saying the new logo was designed on an old PC using MS Paint, but it looks like it could've been. Parent BMW Group says the new logo combines stylistic elements from the early phases of the classic Mini "with a future-oriented appearance that focuses on the essentials" and a two-dimensional look "allowing universal application." (Meaning, cheaper to produce?)
