Custom Mini Cooper Clubman Owned By Celebrity Nick Offerman (ron Swanson) on 2040-cars
Los Angeles, California, United States
Celebrities Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally were the original owners of this chocolate brown Mini Cooper Clubman. They were kind enough to sell it to me, and now I need to sell it to you since I'm moving to New York. Nick had the original tires replaced with run-flats for superior handling. Interior is custom brown leather with cream accents. Full roof rack. Biking/skiing rack attachments included which have never been used. Back passenger area is surprisingly roomy. Trunk space is ample for a Mini, and seats fold down to allow for extra room. This car is in excellent condition with only the minor cosmetic issues mentioned above. It's super fun to drive and comes in pretty handy for those tiny parking lots and tight parking spots of LA! I'm sad to part ways with this awesome ride and hope to pass it down to another Ron Swanson fan:)
Cool features: - panoramic sunroof - paddle shifters and stick shift (for manual driving) - steering wheel radio and cruise control - sport mode - alloy wheels - low miles - ambient interior lighting (several colors) - ipod/iphone connection, aux audio input - bluetooth enabled - mostly highway driven - parking in tight spaces! - great gas mileage 26/34 MPG - front and side curtain airbags - power mirrors - barn door trunk - fast, fun, reliable - Mini manual included, 2 keys Shipping and inspection are the buyers expenses. Watch this Chinese stunt driver parallel park with only 3 inches to spare
Mon, Nov 24 2014Whenever this writer thinks of fancy parking jobs, we go straight to Buddy Love singing Strokin' in a red Dodge Viper he slides into a tiny space in The Nutty Professor. But after watching the video above, we might have to start thinking about Han Yue, who broke the world record for getting into the tightest parallel parking space. The previous record was set in July 2013 by Alastair Moffatt, who had 3.4 inches to spare between his car and those around. Yue used a Mini Cooper at the China Drift Championship in Chongqing, China, to shrink that gap to 3.15 inches. That gave Yue two world records at the same event: the day before, he used a BMW M4 to set the world record for doing the most donuts around a car driving on two wheels. Which, frankly, we didn't even know was a competitive thing... Mini Clubman Concept throws open all six of its doors for Geneva
Tue, 25 Feb 2014Coming in just over 10 inches longer and 6.5 inches wider than the 2013 Mini Clubman, the new Mini Clubman Concept that you see above is set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show next week. Let's get the maximum mini jokes out of the way right off the bat... Done? Okay, moving along.
Adrian van Hooydonk, Head of BMW Group Design, says that this Clubman Concept "shows how the Mini Clubman could be taken a step further: more interior space, a greater sense of high-end quality and yet still clever, bold and distinctive." And that extra interior space will be accessible through four real doors, eschewing the single-sided barn door approach of the current Clubman. Well, mostly - there's still the side-by-side barn door philosophy at the back instead of a more traditional upward-opening hatch. In fact, spy shots and early rumors pegged this more conventionally doored Mini as a new model selling under a new name, possibly Traveller. However, it appears that Mini will stick with the brand equity it has established with Clubman instead.
As you can see in the small image gallery above, the Clubman Concept is instantly recognizable as a Mini, though a somewhat more refined overall package than past efforts. The front headlamps still have a bit of a surprised look to them, but we think this concept's overall fascia, and its unique bright finishes, might be more successful than the latest Cooper's. At the rear, there are a set of rather large taillights dominating the view, and we note that the prevalence of air intakes and scoops at parent BMW have moved on down to the Mini line. We'll have to reserve final judgment until we see the Clubman Concept in person.
Mini forgets to bring car to LA, shows Citysurfer concept scooter
Wed, 19 Nov 2014See that red thing? It's the Mini Citysurfer Concept. It is not, in case you were wondering, an automobile. Yet despite this apparent shortcoming, Mini has placed it on a plinth at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The electric scooter weighs in at 40 pounds, can hit 15 miles per hour, cover 10 to 15 miles and can be folded up and charged in the trunk of a Mini Cooper (or any other vehicle with a 12-volt outlet and a roomy enough cargo area). According to the British marque, these qualities will give the scooter's owner the "spontaneous and convenient mobility even in those sections of an urban area not accessible to motorized vehicles."
It's not terribly difficult to see the appeal, as Mini explains it. With urban congestion becoming an increasingly serious problem - and some cities beginning to ban cars outright - the idea of an easy to charge and easy to stow runabout is extremely attractive. That's doubly true in the case of the Citysurfer, which is rather well equipped, as far as scooters go.
