NO RESERVE "PROJECT MINI"

1977 Leyland Mini 1000.

Damaged due to drunk driver running off the road, into my sign post and knocking it down on 4 minis.

I have sold 300+ Minis over the past 25 years and there were always tire kickers looking for a "project mini".

I never sold a "project Mini" because those tire kickers never wanted to pay more than $3000 for a running & driving, rust free, "project Mini".

Shipping from NZ was usually $2800+ per Mini and the MINIS WERE NOT FREE. NOW YOU KNOW WHY I NEVER OFFERED "PROJECT MINIS" FOR $3000!

AFTER ALL THOSE YEARS OF NOT SELLING "PROJECT MINIS" I FINALLY HAVE ONE FOR SALE.

This Mini was redone 10 years ago in a John deere scheme. Hundreds of dollars were spent buying John Deere chrome name badges, factory decals, John Deere seat cover material and the correct John Deere yellow and green factory paint. george did this mini up to look like a million bucks!

This Mini, along with 3 others, was parked in front of my shop, in Charleston, SC, on my lot, on display.

An uninsured drunk driver ran off the road, hit my sign and knocked the sign down in top of all 4 Minis.

This Mini was damaged more than the other 3, as the sign, on top of the sign post, fell directly in the roof of this Mini. No broken glass, just a caved in roof. Not the kind of damage you buff out!

The other 3 Minis were repaired and sold years ago.

George removed all the interior and glass from this Mini. Every removed part is in my warehouse and intact. See photos.

Please see posted photos for damage, features and condition. this Mini was not a rusty car, at all and has been stored inside my warehouse since the damage was done. this is a nice Mini that needs a roof or the damaged roof removed completely and made into a roadster or convertible.

Importing Minis, in recent years, has become economically impossible, due to the poor exchange rate of the US dollar to other currencies around the globe.

this Mini has been stored inside my warehouse for 3+ years. The engine runs and the car ran & drove great before the damage occurred. the engine did not knock, smoke or over heat. The transmission did not make any unusual noises, jump out of any gear or have any faults at all. the clutch and brakes functioned properly as well. Pete ran this car just last spring and it ran great and moved under its own power. the electrical part of the ignition switch needs replacing, as did most on the mid to late 1970's Minis.

Buyer must send a $500 Paypal deposit within 24 hours of end of listing and the balance of the sale price must be received by me within 3 days of end of listing, in the form of a bank cashier's check, sent by US Post Express mail, 2 day delivery with signature required on delivery. No exceptions.

the Mini can remain inside my warehouse for 30 days, at no extra charge, giving the buyer enough time to arrange transport or come pick the Mini up at their convenience.

Clear SC title and sold as is due to damage.

We were going to cut the roof off,but not enough time, as my property has sold and we must move out by late October, hence the emoval of all the parts, (see posted photos for examples of 3  Minis, orange, red and white, with roof removed),

'Why isn't he stopping?' Mini driver describes being pushed sideways by dump truck

Thu, Mar 25 2021

Yesterday, a video out of Toronto made the rounds on social media. It was scary to watch, as a dump truck pushed a Mini sideways a half-kilometer (third of a mile). But there were no details about why this accident happened or who was involved. Today, we know more:   This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Courtenay Erhardt, 26, is a nurse who was driving her Mini to a coronavirus vaccination site to administer shots to homeless people. She says she was waiting at a stoplight before heading up an onramp. “I was in front of him at that stoplight. We were both trying to get onto the Gardiner (Expressway)," she told the Toronto Star, which has a photo of Erhardt and a close-up look at the Mini stuck to the Kenworth's bumper. "He hit me from behind when we were merging." "[The dump truck] just sort of bumped my back rear-end and unfortunately I went sideways and the truck just continued to go up the ramp," Erhardt told CTV News Toronto. "I just remember holding my horn and my steering wheel and just screaming. Just like bawling and screaming. I honestly didn't know if my Mini was going to flip, or veer out into oncoming traffic on the Gardiner," she said. "I just remember thinking, 'Why isn't he stopping? Why is he still going?'" A couple in another car behind the truck saw smoke coming off the truck and knew something was wrong, Erhardt said. They pulled up alongside her, saw what was going on, then pulled ahead of the truck and forced it to stop. They called 911 and helped Erhardt escape her car. The truck driver, Erhardt said, emerged. “He said, ‘I didnÂ’t see youÂ’ and asked me not to call the cops. He asked if he could pay for the damages. He was young.” He has been charged with several offenses, Toronto police said.  Police Sgt. Murray Campbell released a statement to CTV saying, "Operators of large vehicles do not have the benefit of such lower/smaller vehicles, in their ability to see out of windows in all directions," implying the truck driver couldn't see the small car beneath his hood. Campbell advised motorists to make sure they can see truck drivers so the truck drivers can see them.  Which is good advice. That said, this truck driver surely felt that something was wrong — and heard the sounds that we can hear in the video. Erhardt, though terrified, was not injured. She credits the couple who helped her, along with the Mini Cooper.

Despite Mini's woes, Clubman sales surging

Mon, Apr 4 2016

The Mini Clubman has a polarizing design, but those who like it are snapping it up. According to Automotive News, the Clubman is on pace to become Mini USA's best selling model. Almost 1,700 vehicles were sold during the first quarter of 2016, and the vast majority – 1,037 units – were sold last month alone. These facts are made all the more noteworthy because Mini's sales fell 15 percent during the first quarter. The surging sales of Mini's newest model are especially good news for the brand's coffers. The Clubman is the most expensive non- John Cooper Works model you can get, aside from the upcoming Convertible. It doesn't sound like there are too many Clubman models going for the $24,950 starting price, either. According to Mini Dealer Council Chairman Michael Vadasz, dealers are doing solid business on customized orders, which, he tells AN, "is what Mini is all about." About one in four Minis built today are custom orders submitted by consumers, who love taking advantage of the Porsche-like breadth of a la carte options, no matter what it does to the final price. The fact that Mini is seeing so many custom Clubmans, then, is a very good thing. As for why the Clubman is doing so well, Mini USA Vice President David Duncan says it's because the car just isn't so Mini, moving the brand beyond its traditional subcompact class to the compact segment, where it can challenge cars like the Audi A3. "We see that as a fast growing segment, so having an entry in there gives us that opportunity," Duncan told Automotive News. "And then when you look at the car itself, it's got a premiumness about it that really takes us to the next level and allows us to compete against brands that we weren't typically competing against." Mini reveals new John Cooper Works concept ahead of Detroit

Tue, 17 Dec 2013

BMW effectively hit the reset button when it unveiled the new Mini at the LA Auto Show last month, opening the door to a whole raft of new variants to follow - and this is the first.
Set to be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show next month is the new Mini John Cooper Works Concept, a show car that previews the next hot hatch from the Anglo-Saxon automaker. Mini isn't saying much about what makes it tick, focusing instead of the design that sets it apart from the standard version we've already seen.
This JCW concept features a lustrous grey paintjob with bright red accents, 18-inch alloys and an upgraded aero kit, all aimed at making the Mini look that much sportier. It's got bigger air intakes where the fog lights would be, LED headlamps, a black grille frame, side skirts, a rear bumper with diffuser insert and a roof-mounted spoiler.
