The MG TF was only produced for two years 1954 -1955 as a stopgap between the MG TD and the MGA. When the MG TF was first introduced, it was powered by a XPAG 1250cc engine but the demands for more power by the consumers brought about the additional 250 cubic-centimeters. The consumers got what they wanted and the resulting vehicle was dubbed the MG TF 1500, only 3,000 such cars were produced. The MG TF is often considered the most sophisticated driver by collectors of the T-Series.

This last year production TF1500 offered is the ideal candidate for any collector who is looking for weekend cruiser or something to bring out to the next Cars and Coffee event! It comes nicely outfitted with a Lecarra wood trimmed steering wheel, Brooklands style racing screens, bumper guards, full leather bonnet strap, headlamp stoneguards, chrome badge bar with vintage driving lamps and painted wire wheels with knock-offs. It’s a very capable driver for those who enjoy handsome English ruggedness.

Burgundy exterior with black cabin upholstery, the cosmetics have aged and the paint is showing wear and tear, none-the-less the car is very solid and structurally sound. Starting, braking and cooling are on point; under the bonnet, the original and matching numbers XPEG 1500 engine is sorted and runs reliably. The tough charm of this “Trials” TF 1500 truly embodies the essence of MG’s heritage in the classic motor sport.
