I have owned this car for five years and just don't have the time to get out in it any longer. In the time I have had it I have put less than 200 miles on this car and it's just not worth holding onto any more. It had a full frame off restoration done in 1998 or so by a previous owner and has been kept in a garage ever since. I would assume that the engine was rebuilt at that time but I cannot verify that. It is a numbers matching car and I can find no sign of body damage from a wreck. During the restoration a new wiring harness was installed as well as new wood panels everywhere. It also had new carpet installed and all canvas was replaced on the top, side panels and tonneau cover. I know very little about working on cars or MG's in particular and live far from a qualified mechanic. As a result it is in need of a tune up right now. When I decided to buy an old MG I did some searching online and came across a lifetime British car mechanic who was located about two hours from me. He tipped me off to this car and he had also done the routine maintenance on the car for the person from whom I bought it. I had originally wanted to get a 1953 because I was born that year but I decided to buy this car on his strong recommendation. In his words it was a "good driver" and he was very familiar with its mechanical condition. To me getting a good, solid car was more important than the uncertainty I might get by limiting myself to a particular year. I have an original copy of the Operation Manual and a photocopy of the entire Workshop Manual. If you are mechanically inclined you will be able to work on anything with these two references.
