1954 MG TF 1250 ROADSTER

KURT TANNER RESTORATIONS presents for sale here on Ebay a highly original and untouched barn find MG TF 1250 Roadster. This car has been in storage for over 45 years and the last registration sticker is from 1968. It was delivered new in Southern California and still retains it's pair of black and yellow license plates. The original color scheme was Olde English White with Red trim. Although the original speedometer glass is broken and the odometer slightly damaged, the mileage appears to be 53,119. This car is very complete including the original sidescreen set, hubcaps, top frame, tools and jack, original air cleaners, etc. There is also the missing taiIlight and front sidelight in the photos. The windshield glass is broken. It retains all of it's correct and original matching data plates including car number, body plate, and engine plaque. The original engine in the car is currently not turning from the years of lack of use, and no attempt has been made to free it up. However, a rebuild would be in order.

Bodily, the sheetmetal parts appear very solid in most all areas, as seen by the photos. It currently wears a coat of primer that was most likely applied in the past for protection purposes. Some of the wood in the RH door is deteriorating near the hinge pick up points, some rear cockpit pieces, as well as some other strips that were noticed under the rear seat platform. The main body tub feels and appears solid. The LH door hinges are broken. There are the typical dings and dents that chronicle it's past life. The undercarriage is typical for an unrestored car of this period. It's showing some surface rust, grease build-up around the suspension, rear axle, and oil pan. The only rust-through noted is around the battery tray cages.

Overall, this car is a well-preserved California original that hasn't turned a wheel in over 45 years, still retaining it's period battery and whitewall tires. It presents a rare opportunity to the MG enthusiast/ restorer/ collector to secure a highly correct and untouched specimen that has not been taken apart or restored since new. It would be an ideal candidate for a Concours restoration.
