Welcome to a great opportunity. Every once is a while we get that "Little Old Lady, or Little Old Man owned, low mileage Florida creampuff" and we LOVE passing it along to our wonderful eBay clientele. And this is just such that occasion. You are viewing a very nice, extremely low mileage, Florida-kept and driven 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis Premium Luxury Touring Sedan. When we saw this car, in this condition, we knew we had to have it! You simply do not see them available for sale with incredibly low mileage, very often, if at all. Why? Because the original owner's love them, and keep them! They offer great luxury, incredible dependability and safety, a super-smooth ride and a classic design, that never goes out of style!

This Grand Marquis GS is extra-clean and priced thousands below what your local Ford-Lincoln-Mercury dealership would want for the same vehicle, assuming they could find one! Certainly an attractive color combination for this sedan. It has a wonderful neutral Arizona Beige Clearcoat Metallic exterior over a Light Beige deluxe Tex leather interior. Combined with dealer-installed Chrome wheel trim rings, chrome and color-keyed bodyside molding, chrome wheel covers and thin black pinstripe, the appearance of this Grand Marquis GS is second-to-none. With a careful, mature previous owner, original Sunny South Florida miles, this beauty certainly stand outs. For all intensive purposes, we could call this beautiful Grand Marquis a one-owner car. But truth told, the previous owner bought it from Holman Lincoln Mercury of Margate, FL in 2007 and upon his passing, his son took over possession in June of last year, placing only 4,000 miles on it, prior to trading it in.  Prior to that, he has been this Mercury's only owner and has remained in Florida since then, being pampered and enjoyed the entire time. With only 34,000 original miles, this Mercury runs and drives perfectly.

This Luxury Sedan is impressive. Don't wait too long, we simply do not see these cars in this condition, upkeep and mileage all too often. This was certainly someone's pride and joy. They took great care of it, and as such, it appears they recently painted the flat surfaces of the car, most likely due to sun fading. It happens a lot down here. So, the trunk, roof and hood surfaces have all been refinished. Looks great. Most of our cars end with a simple click of the Buy-It-Now, or a call to our sales associate. Don't make the mistake of missing out on this rare find! This Grand Marquis is an absolute pleasure to drive. Completely loaded with full power options, this sedan has a 220-horsepower 4.6 liter V8 mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission with Overdrive. In addition to seating capacity for up to six adult passengers, this Grand Marquis comes nicely equipped with driver's side power seat, air conditioning, cruise control, power controls, an adjustable steering wheel, a remote trunk release, AM/FM/CD audio system, rear window defogger/defroster, intermittent wipers and heated exterior mirrors. Safety equipment includes driver and passenger-side airbags, ABS, Traction Control, factory security system and keyless remote entry, either by remote, or door keypad.

The Light Beige interior is in outstanding condition. As close to new as you could possibly ever ask for. It is roomy and impressive interior cabin for the Grand Marquis, with the light interior accented distinctively by the rich, wood trim. And the beautiful high-gloss Arizona Beige exterior finish is in excellent condition and is ding and dent free. The previous owner lived in Fort Lauderdale and this car probably didn't see much Interstate travel at all. There are no rock or pebble nicks on the front of this car, and the finish is very attractive. Remember folks, only 34,000 original, documented miles). This Mercury Grand Marquis has been maintained suberbly, The pictures we have taken of the car are how we received the car. No professional detailing, no cleaning of the engine compartment and then jazzing it up with Armor All...nothing! This is how it came in, and this is how you see it. You can eat off the engine and motor compartment, and you can eat off the undercarriage of the car, and the interior looks as if it has hardly been sat in.

At this point, we would like to point out that the car will get professionally detailed by us for the successful new buyer, making it look near showroom. There is a small. light 3" scratch on the lower rear bumper that we will order the correct paint from Ford and touch it up. This car has been driven to the tune of about 4,500 miles per year. A very well maintained vehicle, they serviced their car exclusively at SEARS in addition to the Lincoln/Mercury dealership. It has a new Interstate Battery (with warranty) and new Oil change as well as filter and wiper blades replaced. The upkeep has been great, and this is one of those cars that you can't believe is available.

Loaded and it runs and drives superbly. No rattles, shakes, squeaks, bumps or bruises. Everything works perfectly and properly, and all it needs now is a new home. The top-of-the-line Bridgestone Potenza All-season premium speed and heat rated performance radials are brand new, with less than 500 miles on them. The upkeep on this Grand Marquis has been exceptional. You should be starting to get the picture here folks. Outstanding appearance and regular maintenance of this luxury sedan. Who will be the lucky, and I do mean very lucky, new owner.

Very clean interior and the wood accents really define this ultra-luxurious interior. This is a great car! With a 220 hp V8 this luxury sedan really moves!  And, if you live in the North East, don't worry about it. This Grand Marquis GS is equipped for any driving condition. With Traction Control and heated mirrors, winter driving is a breeze!

We have this attractive and low mileage 2007 Mercury priced incredibly for a fast sale. Lowest priced in the country for this year and mileage.  All this beauty needs is a new home. Being a local South Florida vehicle its entire life make a BIG difference. Clean, corrosion-free undercarriage, smooth, flat roads with no hills and potholes in this Sunny and Warm climate--your suspension will thank you for that, as will the transmission. All these things add up to a better vehicle. Additionally, this car has never been smoked in--neither by pop, or his son. If you hit the Buy-It-Now, we will assist with transport within the Continental US. We list our vehicles to sell, and many sell with just a simple phone call to our sales associate. Don't miss out on this one. Among one of the best $10,000 cars you can buy on the market today. I know this would be my choice.

The mileage is incredibly low for the model year at only 34,000 documented miles. And remember, these were Florida miles, and a bonus with the reasons mentioned above. Buy and Bid with confidence on this completely serviced vehicle. Please feel free to call or e-mail us and enjoy a wonderful buying experience. 561.283.9511 and ask for Steve. I am also including all the original books, manuals and supplements that came with this vehicle when new, as well as keyless entry security code card. Crystal clean CarFax and AutoCheck reports with absolutely no accidents or any kind. How's that for peace of mind! In fact, while most Grand Marquis' offered for sale have an AutoCheck score ranging from 75-84. Our scored an ultra-impressive 91! Now that's awesome!

Please feel free to call 561.283.9511 for more details or a walk around the vehicle. We have the clean Florida title in-hand ready for immediate transfer to the new lucky owner. Clean trade-in value is slightly below our attractive Buy-It-Now price, so, this is truly a no-brainer for those of you that want a full-size premium luxury touring sedan and an exclusive Florida owned-and-driven pedigree (and a huge trunk good enough for 4 full-size suitcases, 4 golf bags, etc.  Don't make this mistake of missing out on this one. NHTSA investigating Ford's solution to May 2014 power steering recall

Tue, Apr 7 2015

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating a complaint that Ford's response to a May 2014 recall of the 2008 to 2011 Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner doesn't quite go far enough to solve a troubling power-steering problem. Roughly a year ago, Ford recalled nearly a million vehicles after it was found that a problem with the torque sensor's communication with the power steering control module could cut steering assistance for drivers. While manual steering would still be available, the problem was enough to ask drivers to report in to have the PSCM inspected, and if necessary, replaced (along with the torque sensor, or in dramatic cases, the entire steering column). That would only happen, though, if trouble codes were being thrown. If there weren't any problems, dealers were told to simply update the PSCM's software so that any issues between it and the torque sensor would simply throw a visual and audio warning – power steering would still be maintained. The petitioner claimed that following the recall work, he still experienced a problem with the torque sensor. According to NHTSA, a claim was made that Ford didn't go far enough in its solution to the problem, and that "the software update itself may in fact cause further issues with the affected vehicle's power steering, causing it to fail, and ultimately requiring replacement of the torque sensor or entire steering column." The petition was filed in early February and is now officially being looked into by NHTSA.

Junkyard Gem: 1991 Mercury Capri XR2

Mon, Jun 5 2023

Just a year after the Mazda MX-5 Miata first went on sale in the United States, Ford's Mercury Division began selling a similarly-priced two-seat convertible here. This was the 1991-1994 Mercury Capri, and I've found an example of the hot-rod turbocharged version in a northeastern Colorado car graveyard. The Capri name has an illustrious history within the Ford Empire. First used on a Lincoln in 1952, it went on to serve as the name for a hardtop version of the early-1960s Ford Consul in the UK, then as the designation for a low-end trim level on the 1966-1967 Mercury Comet. Starting in the 1969 model year in Europe (1970 in North America), Ford began selling the best-known Capri of all: a sporty coupe based on the Cortina, sold through Mercury dealers in the United States but never badged as a Mercury here. Sales of that Capri halted here after 1978 (they continued through 1986 in Europe), but the Mercury Division then moved the name over to its version of the 1979-1986 Ford Mustang. After that, Ford Australia took the Capri name for a new Mazda 323-based sports car beginning in 1989. Then Dearborn decided that an Americanized version of the Australian Capri would be a success on this side of the Pacific, and left-hand-drive Capris began showing up in American Mercury showrooms in late 1990. Today's Junkyard Gem is one of those first-model-year cars, and it's the very rare turbocharged XR2 version. While this car was intended to be a competitor for the Miata, it's really that car's Mazda cousin. Both cars got their power from 1.6-liter versions of Mazda's versatile B engine, though the Capri had the same front-wheel-drive setup as its 323/Protege (and Escort/Tracer) platform siblings. At the same time, Ford was selling Kia-built Mazdas with Festiva (and, a bit later, Aspire) badging, alongside Mazda MX-6s with Probe badges. Just to make things interesting, American Mazda dealers were selling Ford Explorers as Mazda Navajos, while Rangers with Mazda badges followed starting in 1994. The 1990s were Mazda-riffic times at Ford! This car wasn't the first Australian-designed, Mazda-based Ford product sold in the United States. That honor belongs to the 1988-1989 Mercury Tracer, which was based on the same Mazda 323 platform as the Capri and built in Mexico. Later on, the Tracer remained a member of the 323 chassis family but was a nearly identical twin to its Ford Escort sibling.

NHTSA investigating 725k Ford, Mercury vehicles for stalling issue

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

Owners of Ford Escape, Mercury Mariner, Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan models, listen up. According to a report on Automotive News, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened an investigation into these four vehicles totaling an estimated 725,000 units. The investigation appears to center around a malfunctioning throttle body on non-hybrid models of the 2005-2012 Escape and 2011-2012 Fusion. With Mercury dying off after the 2011 model year, this probe will also apply to the 2005 through 2011 Mariner and the 2011 Milan. There has been some discussion around the Escape stalling issue for some time now, but this investigation appears to be larger in scope than before.
Though not a recall yet, NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has received 123 complaints of stalling or surging vehicles, while Ford itself has logged 1,472 complaints. The investigation report, which is posted below, seems to indicate that a faulty circuit board for the throttle body could cause the vehicle to go into limp mode, which, according to NHTSA, could cause complaints of both stalling and surging.
