1995 Mercury Grand Marquis Ls, Low Miles, Good Condition, Lots Of New Parts on 2040-cars
Hazleton, Pennsylvania, United States

This vehicle is a 99k mile, daily driven, rust free vehicle. Is a nice looking, smooth driving, and well mechanically maintained vehicle. You are highly unlikely to find this model and year vehicle with any lower mileage at a price this cheap anywhere. Motivated to sell as I have several vehicles and recently purchased another brand new one. Since this is the oldest of my vehicles, it is the one to be sold. If you are looking for a recently passed Pennsylvania safety and emissions inspected vehicle that rides beautifully, has nearly new tires and brakes just installed, and is an extremely reliable vehicle that you can just get in and go each and every day, at a very cheap price, then this is the car for you. Exterior is solid, dent, & rust free. It does have some clearcoat fading on the hood, roof, and trunk, as well as slight paint peeling on trunk, both common on Ford vehicles during the 90's. Also has usual scratches that would come with a 19 year old vehicle, but barely noticeable. Interior is clean and has no odors. Driver's door interior panel has some cracks in it, and the headliner is non-sagging, but honestly could use to be replaced due to having many small slits and slices in it. A/C works, but needs to be recharged as it blows hot air at the moment. For the price that I am asking, it is extremely hard to find a vehicle this reliable anywhere. I just had the car gone over by a highly respected garage and it passed both safety and emissions inspections with flying colors. Makes for a cheap and reliable first or second car. Just look at all the options and features this vehicle has.... Year: 1995 Trim: LS Engine: 4.6L Doors: 4 Mileage: 99,000 miles Exterior Color: Maroon Interior Color: Gray Luxury Features: Keyless Entry Keypad on Driver's Door Air Conditioning Cruise Control Tilt Steering Wheel Removable Face CD Player Twilight Sentinal Headlights Interior Wood Trim Driver's Full Instrumentative Onboard Communication & Information Center Front Map Lights Factory Alloy Wheels Factory Rear Air Suspension (new compressor and bags installed 2 years ago) Extra Aftermarket Stainless Steel Trim Tastefully Placed Around Exterior Of Vehicle Power Equipment: Power Windows Power Locks Power Driver's Seat Featuring Power Lumbar Support Power Passenger Seat Power Trunk Release Safety Features: Driver's Air Bag Passenger Air Bag Electric Rear Window Defogger Sorry, but I will not ship the vehicle. You must come and pick up the vehicle in person within 10 days of eBay purchase. No paypal, money orders, or personal checks will be accepted. In person cash or certified bank check are the only 2 methods of payments I will accept. I highly encourage you to come and view the vehicle yourself before the end of the listing to go over it, take it for a test drive, etc. so that you can see first hand exactly what you are purchasing. Vehicle is being sold 'AS IS' and all sales are final. No warranties, expressed or implied come with the vehicle. This is a 19 year old vehicle that has been well maintained with low mileage, but does show the natural wear and tear that a 19 year old vehicle would show. Again, I encourage you to come and view the vehicle before making your purchase so that you can see for yourself that I have been as honest as possible with my description of the vehicle. |

Ford announces two recalls, 442k vehicles affected in North America
Wed, May 27 2015Ford is announcing two recalls for North American that affect a total of 442,300 vehicles and multiple model lines. The larger campaign covers the possibility of electric power steering systems that can fail in the 2011-2013 Ford Flex, Taurus, Lincoln MKS, and MKT; the 2011-2012 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ; and the 2011 Mercury Milan. This recall affects 422,814 vehicles in North America, including 393,622 in the United States, 25,195 in Canada, and 3,997 in Mexico. According to the company, an intermittent electrical connection can cause the power steering to cut out, although manual steering would still work. Ford knows of four minor accidents from this issue, but there are no injuries. Depending on trouble codes from the vehicle, dealers will either upgrade software for the power steering control module or replace the steering gear. The second recall covers 19,486 examples of the 2015 Ford Mustang with the 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a production date between February 14, 2014, and February 10, 2015 at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant. Specifically, there are 19,095 of these in the US and 391 in Canada. These pony cars can show elevated underbody temperatures, which can lead to degradation of the fuel tank, fuel vapor lines, and parking brake cable seals. There are no reports of accidents, injuries or fires from this, though. To fix things, dealers will install a better-insulated fuel tank shield, add thermal patches around the tank and parking brake cable, and put thermal wraps around the fuel vapor lines. You can read the specific build dates and locations for the models affected by the power steering issue in Ford's press release below the video. Petrolicious shows Mercedes 280SL as architecture in motion
Wed, Jun 17 2015While still an absolute beauty today, the design of the pagoda-roof W113 Mercedes-Benz SL was revolutionary when it debuted. Moving away from the soft curves of the previous SL models, the all-new generation brought an upright, angular shape that was as much architectural as automotive. In the latest video from Petrolicious, owner and architect Daniel Monti expounds on the inspiration that he gets from his 1969 280SL's fantastic styling. The roof is the most famous design feature of this generation of SL. Look at the top from the front or back, and you can see a gentle, downward arc that evokes the look of a pagoda. That one styling element is also a fabulous counterpoint to a vehicle that is largely more angular than curvaceous. Petrolicious wonderfully illustrates how some of the SL's form-follows-function design aesthetic can be found in the architect's work in this video's heaping helping of mid-century modern goodness.
Junkyard Gem: 1973 Mercury Marquis Brougham 4-Door Pillared Hardtop
Tue, Nov 7 2023Ford's Mercury Division debuted the Marquis in the 1967 model year, as a sporty coupe based on a stretched Ford LTD chassis. When the LTD got an update for 1969, so did the Marquis, and production of that generation of the top-of-the-line Mercury continued through 1978 (the Grand Marquis hit streets the following year). The 1969-1978 Marquis was a big, imposing land yacht, and the Brougham version came absolutely loaded with affordable luxury. Today's Junkyard Gem is a Marquis Brougham from the first year of the Malaise Era, found in a Phoenix self-service car graveyard recently. This car appears to have spent decades sitting outdoors in one of the harshest climates in the country, and so it's in rough shape. The vinyl top received the full thermonuclear treatment and is mostly obliterated by now. The interior got thoroughly cooked as well. Still, its original opulence shines through if you use some imagination. What hurts is that this car was packed with most of the good options, including the mighty 460-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 engine with four-barrel carburetor. The price for the 460 was just $76 in this car, or around $548 in today's money. The base engine was a 429 (7.0-liter). Power numbers were way down for 1973 when compared to a couple of years earlier, partly as the result of tightening emissions standards but mostly due to the switch from gross to net power ratings that began midway during 1971 and was completed by the end of 1972. This engine was rated at 202 horsepower and 330 pound-feet. The only transmission available was a three-speed automatic. We can assume that the original buyer of this car and its single-digit fuel economy had a rough time when the OPEC oil embargo hit in the fall of 1973. Believe it or not, air conditioning was not standard equipment on the '73 Marquis Brougham (you had to move up to a Lincoln for that). This one even has the automatic temperature control feature, adding a total of $508 to the cost of this car (about $3,661 in 2023 dollars). That AM/FM/8-track radio—or, in fact, any radio—was an extra-cost option as well, with a price tag of $363 ($2,616 after inflation). The MSRP for the 1973 Marquis Brougham sedan (known as a "pillared hardtop" thanks to the frameless window glass) was $5,072, which comes to $36,555 in today's dollars. Obviously, its out-the-door cost would have been much higher with all the options.
