THIS IS A VERY NICE ALMOST ALL ORIGINAL 1964 MERCURY COMET CONVERTABLE. YOU JUST DONT FIND THESE LITTLE COMETS LIKE THIS ONE. IT SPENT MOST OF ITS LIFE IN ARIZONA AND THEN MOVED TO FLORIDA, SO IT IS A TRUE SURVIVOR. THE CAR RUNS AND DRIVES OUT GREAT. I JUST DROVE THIS LITTLE CONVERTABLE OVER 350 MILES AND IT DROVE OUT FLAWLESSLY WITH VERY GOOD FUEL MILAGE.
IT IS POWERED BY ITS 289ci FSB WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. IT STARTS RIGHT UP AND RUNS AND SOUNDS VERY NICE AND QUIET. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS OUT VERY GOOD. THIS LITTLE CAR RUNS AND DRIVES OUT AND STOPS VERY GOOD. IT HAS JUST A LITTLE PLAY IN FRONT END BUT NOTHING THAT EFECTED ME ON MY TRIP. THE CAR IS ALL ORIGINAL WITH EVERTHING WORKING ON IT AS IT SHOULD. IT HAS A POWER CONVERTABLE TOP THAT IS NOT NEW BUT IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION WITH NO TEARS OR RIPS. ALL THE WINDOWS WORK AS THEY SHOULD. THE CAR HAS HAD 1 REPAINT AND IT IS NICE AND SHINY. THE BODY IS VERY SOLID AND THE UNDERSIDE IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. THE INTERIOR LOOKS VERY PRESENTABLE . THE FRONT SEAT IS TORN AT SEWN AREAS BUT THE REST OF INTERIOR IS IN GOOD CONDITION. IT STILL HAS ITS ORIGINAL HUBCAPS THAT ARE IN GOOD CONDITION. THE CROME BUMBERS AND STAINLESS ARE IN GOOD CONDITION.
OVERALL THIS IS JUST A VERY NICE AND SOLID LITTLE CONVERTABLE THAT IS A BLAST TO DRIVE.. YOU JUST DONT SEE THESE LITTLE MERCURY COMET CONVERTABLES IN THIS CONDITION EVERY DAY. IT GETS ALOT OF ATTENTION WHEN OUT CRUISING.

Report: Last Mercury for retail business built on Sunday
Mon, 04 Oct 2010Ford is already well into winding down its Mercury line, and the autoamker has announced that the very last of the soon-to-be dead brand's products built for retail sales was manufactured on Sunday, October 3. The final Mercury Mariner rolled off of the assembly line at the company's Kansas City facility, putting an end to a brand with over 70 years of history behind it.
Even after the Mariner heads off into the automotive sunset, Ford says that it will continue to manufacture a handful of Mercury models for fleet and government service for a while longer, though mum's the word on how long we can expect that practice to continue.
Interestingly enough, according to USA Today, most incentives on Mercury vehicles have all but dried up, even as the brand's August production increased by 120 percent compared to July's figures. Instead of cash on the hood, some areas are offering no-cost maintenance or similar programs. Even so, Mercury has continued to out-sell Lincoln right to the end - besting Ford's luxury arm's sales by nine percent in August.
This Mercury Cyclone is an American Muscle Car in Norway
Tue, Oct 27 2015The picturesque Norwegian countryside certainly doesn't seem like the natural stomping grounds for a 1969 Mercury Cyclone, but owner Alexander Brevik makes the odd combo look like an ideal match. Even with the beautiful surroundings, Brevik sees no need to enjoy the scenery; he'd much rather just be driving this vintage muscle car. Take a ride with him in the latest clip from Petrolicious. Like many of us, Brevik's automotive obsession started at childhood, and today he has amassed a multitude of projects to wrench on. While he loves working on all of these cars, we all need a break sometimes, and that's what the Cyclone is for. Even when the rest of his collection isn't running, this orange beauty is always ready to go. Brevik may not pay much attention to the landscape, but Petrolicious makes the muscle car look fantastic in the Norwegian woods nonetheless. With its rumbling V8 engine and three-speed manual, this Cyclone turns out to be a perfect cruising companion in the Land of the Midnight Sun. And if you just can't get enough of classic muscle cars and the people who love them, check out our video coverage of the 2015 Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit down below. Related Video:
Fitting Retirement: Grand Marquis last Mercury off the line
Wed, 05 Jan 2011The signs have come down and retail production ended back in October of 2010. Now, the very last Mercury model has rolled off the assembly line. This last Mercury somewhat fittingly takes the form of a Grand Marquis reporting for fleet duty. It was built at the St. Thomas plant in Ontario, Canada, which is the same facility that continues to produce the Ford Crown Victoria and Lincoln Town Car for fleet and livery duty.
St. Thomas' days are numbered, however, as the factory is slated to close on August 31. When it goes, the Panther platform is likely to follow. So long, and thanks for all the fish memories.
