For Sale: 1990 Mercury Grand Marquis 4-door Sedan. I'm the second owner of this car. It was originally purchased new in Port Charolette, Florida by an elderly woman who moved to be close to her family in Arkansas. After she retired to a nursing home and was no longer able to drive, I purchased this Mercury Grand Marquis from her family. This is a real southern car with no real rust issues. You'll see one spot where the vinyl top meets the body shown in the photo. The vinyl top has quite a few hairline cracks in it, but is still solid. The interior is cloth with no real damage, no holes, and it comes from a non-smoking family. You'll see in one photo the rear window interior has started to come apart from age. Power front seats work. Cruise still works. All the lights work. The power windows are working, but kind of weak. All the glass is good, no cracks. Has rear window defroster that works. Air conditioner works. Heater works. Recent battery. Radio works and has working cassette player and power antenna. Has had recent brakes, water pump, starter, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs and wires, and it has the 5.8 fuel injected V-8 engine that doesn't smoke or use any oil between changes and runs excellent with good gas mileage for a car this size, and is rear-wheel drive. This car has a full length frame and real metal bumpers. This model came out with air shocks and has been converted to regular hydraulic shocks. Smooooth ride! Has 70 to 80 percent Goodyear made in USA tires size R215-75-15. I have owned this car for over seven years and drove it with confidence. It will make somebody a nice car or an easy restoration project. Mileage is an estimate. If you have zero feedback, contact me before you bid.
Look at pictures. Please ask any questions. They don't make them like this anymore. |

Ford announces bevy of recalls, 2 of which are recalls on recalls
Tue, 04 Nov 2014
Ford has announced five separate recalls, affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.
It's not been a great couple of weeks for Ford. On October 30, the company announced a 205,000-unit recall, and yesterday, it was revealed that the Ford brand's year-over-year sales were down over 5,000 units while the company itself was down 3,000 units over through October. Now, the company has announced five separate recalls affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.
More than 800,000 Fords recalled for faulty Takata airbags
Thu, Jan 12 2017The Basics: Ford is recalling about 816,000 Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles built in the US for faulty passenger-side Takata airbags. The affected vehicles were all built in North America, with 654,695 recalled vehicles in the US and 161,174 vehicles in Canada. A wide variety of cars, trucks, and SUVs are affected. This is a planned expansion of an earlier recall. 2005-09 and 2012 Ford Mustang 2005-06 Ford GT 2006-09 and 2012 Ford Fusion 2007-09 Ford Ranger 2007-09 Ford Edge 2006-09 and 2012 Lincoln Zephyr and Lincoln MKZ 2007-09 Lincoln MKX 2006-09 Mercury Milan The Problem: Like every other Takata recall, the problem rests with faulty airbags that can potentially expel shrapnel, injuring or killing vehicle occupants. Millions of vehicles from dozens of automakers are affected, so don't think that Ford is alone on this one. Injuries/Deaths: Ford stated in a press release that there have been no injuries or death linked to the vehicles in this recall. All in all, 11 deaths and 180 injuries across a variety of automakers have been linked to these Takata airbags. The fix: Ford will contact owners soon, and the affected vehicles will have their airbags replaced by a dealer at no additional charge. If you own one: Wait for contact from Ford, then head to the dealer to get a replacement. If you're wondering if your vehicle is affected, go to this Ford website and enter their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). The recall reference number is 17S01. Ford recalls 300,000 Crown Vics over lighting module
Wed, Dec 23 2015The Basics: Ford is recalling 312,814 units of the Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis sedans from the 2003-2005 model years. They were built at the St. Thomas Assembly Plant between Oct. 3, 2001, and Aug. 2, 2005. Ford says 296,004 of those units are located in the United States, with another 14,714 in Canada and 2,096 in Mexico. The Problem: The solder joints on the lighting control module could crack, depriving the headlamps of the power they need to light the way ahead. That could increase the risk of a crash, particularly at night and in other low-visibility situations. Injuries/Deaths: Ford reports that it is aware of 11 accidents that resulted from the problem, leading to one injury described as "minor." The Fix: The manufacturer is instructing dealers to replace the entire lighting control module. If You Own One: Make sure your headlights are working before getting under way. If they're not, avoid driving under low-light conditions, including at night, in heavy precipitation, or in fog.
