1968 Mercury Cougar 302 V8 4 speed manual. I have owned this car since 2011, I have the clean clear Pennsylvania title in my name and ready for immediate transfer. The odometer is a 5 digit odometer and reads 35xxx, To the best of my knowledge actual mileage it is 135xxx, I purchased the cougar from a gentleman in Ohio. He had the car built in the early 1990's by his good friend who worked as a local racing engine builder(in Ohio). So the 302 with a holley 4 barrel carb and weiand intake manifold under the hood is very strong good running engine. Sorry I don't know the engine specs but it runs great, and always starts right up. The 4.10 gears in the rear and the 4 speed manual transmission make for a fun drive. Flowmaster mufflers, Hedman headers, Accel coil and distributer. Mercury cougar embossed valve covers. The previous owner had a new flywheel, clutch, starter installed and had the gear box redone(I am pretty sure it is a hurst transmission) All this was done in 2007. The car has new Magnum 500 wheels with the Mercury man center caps and new tires on the car. Rear are 16" and fronts 15". The cars sequential turn signals in the rear work great with updated electronics recently installed. The hidden headlamp doors also work excellent. In 2012 a new aluminum radiator and edelbrock water pump were installed on the car. The car looks good, has small surface rust bubbles on the front of the left fender, small bubble on exterior passenger door, and on the rear deck lid real small spots(They are the exact same size as when I bought the car in 2011, never changed at all) Some small paint peeling on the quarter panel as well(never changed size or worsened since I purchased he car) There was a small aftermarket spoiler on the deck lid when I got the car and I took it off(wanted the original look), there is a photo of the black rubber plugs I have used to block the small mounting holes. The all black interior is in excellent condition. original rear seat, fronts were recovered in the early 90's when the car was rebuilt. The cougar sports deluxe door trim panels. Also have the cougar floor mats in the car I have found them as reproductions and they look great. Heater works, Car originally had ac, but there is no compressor. Kenwood cd player that is I pod ready along with alpine speakers front and rear in the car, I never turn the radio on, I personally enjoy the sound of the 302 under the hood!! The vinyl top is in excellent condition, the paint is average for a car that was painted in the early 1990's, pretty straight with no dents or dings this is a great 10 footer. Paint shines nice, but not a high end paint job. This is a solid great running Mercury Cougar! I can supply you with any additional photos you may need. I have shop manuals for the car and a reproduction owners manual. She is a great looking car and runs great. Stored under cover in a heated garage. The Cougar is ready to drive with no work needed Wouldn't take much to make a perfect show car, right now it is a very nice driver!! It is a real head turner. No warranty expressed or implied, I personally recommend seeing the car in person, but certainly not mandatory. I can help with loading etc. $500.00 dollar non refundable deposit due within 24 hours of auction end. Car is located in Clarion Pennsylvania, 16214. LOW RESERVE!! As you can tell in the photographs, this car had minimal miles put on it since the rebuild. It was driven just enough to maintain it properly, she never sat long periods of time and was always maintained properly when in heated winter storage.

Ford announces bevy of recalls, 2 of which are recalls on recalls
Tue, 04 Nov 2014
Ford has announced five separate recalls, affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.
It's not been a great couple of weeks for Ford. On October 30, the company announced a 205,000-unit recall, and yesterday, it was revealed that the Ford brand's year-over-year sales were down over 5,000 units while the company itself was down 3,000 units over through October. Now, the company has announced five separate recalls affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.
Junkyard Gem: 1970 Mercury Cougar
Tue, Oct 10 2017The plot of the Mercury Cougar story took a lot of strange twists and turns during its 35 or so years, from ponycar to immense luxobarge to family sedan to station wagon to Integra competitor. Examples of the first Cougar generation are nearly extinct in American wrecking yards, so I was excited to spot this one in Denver. Lest you shed any tears over this car going to the crusher, know that it was suffering from the ravenous teeth of the Rust Monster long before it got here. The 1967-1970 Cougar was based on the Mustang platform of the same era, and so it was a sleeker and quicker cat than its successors. Still, the longer wheelbase, extra equipment and all the cool-looking bodywork added some heft; the 1970 Mustang hardtop with V8 scaled in at 2,923 pounds, while the 1970 Cougar weighed 3,307 pounds. The current Ford Focus would fit just between those two weights. There was also a mid-cycle refresh in that era, with the '67-'68 and '69-'70 having different exterior styling and interiors. The '69 and '70 had different front end styling as well, with the latter re-adopting the vertical grille slats featured on the earlier model years. The '69 has horizontal slats. The drivetrain and just about everything else of value has been shorn from this car, perhaps before it arrived in this yard. In 1970, a bewildering assortment of V8 engines was available in the Cougar, including a Boss 302, two completely different 351s, and a 335-horse Cobra Jet 428. The base engine was a 351 Windsor making 250 gross horsepower. Since car rooftops mostly don't rust, why would someone cut out this one? Sheet metal needed for patching a leaky shed roof, perhaps? This 2005-2006 Denver Nuggets window sticker indicates that the car was on the street (probably) as recently as 11 years ago. This content is hosted by a third party. Ford Announces Free Brake-Pad Offer If Customers Stop By Dealers
Mon, Aug 4 2014These days, when you buy a new car, it's not unreasonable to expect a certain period of free maintenance to come along as well. Sometimes this is through the life of the warranty, in other cases a little less. But Ford Motor Company is going beyond those deals for at least one part of its cars. As of now, if you buy a set of Motorcraft brake pads for a Ford, Lincoln or Mercury model, you get free replacements for as long as you own the vehicle. The offer is good at Ford or Lincoln dealers and Quick Lane Tire & Auto Centers. "We will replace the pads for as long as you own the vehicle," said Elizabeth Weigandt to Autoblog. She did clarify that the Motorcraft pads are generally for models from the '90s or newer. Also, to take advantage of this program, a person must return to the same dealer each time to get the free parts. Of course, Ford isn't just handing out brake pads to anyone who walks by; there are certain stipulations. First, the components have to be worn down to less than three millimeters to be eligible, and the buyer still has to pay for the labor to install them. If the model is used as a fleet vehicle for commercial purposes like as a taxi or limousine, this offer also doesn't apply; the same thing for racecars. On the plus side, if you recently bought a set of pads from one of the participating locations, you're still in luck. The deal covers parts purchased as of July 1. "This program reflects our commitment to providing customers with an excellent ownership experience regardless of the age of their vehicle," said Frederiek Toney, President of Ford Customer Service, in the company's announcement of the offer.
