1963 Mercury Comet Custom Convertible 260 V8 4 Speed Ac Barn Find All Original on 2040-cars
Ontario, California, United States
A TRUE BARN FIND!!! Up for bid is a 1963 Mercury Comet Custom Convertible All original Factory V8 260 CU. 4 Speed, AC !!! The original owner got this car when she was in High School as a gift from her Dad and kept it until I purchased it from her about 2 months ago. Well I have decided to sell it; as much as I would like to keep it and just drive it like it is. The only rust on the car is on the drive side rocker panel. Which is a quick fix and I have another rocker for it, But really doesn't need it. Because I do body work and could fix it in a few hours, but I don't have the time. I pulled all the spark plugs out and shot some WD40 and Tranny fluid in each cylinder put the plugs back in and let it sit for about two weeks, I then took the plugs out again and turned the motor over by hand and it was free!!! I put the plugs back in it and put a battery in it and it turned right over. The Original owner parked the car because she bought a new one and would only drive the car about once a month and it ran when it was last parked for good in the early 90's. I have the original PINK slip and original owners manual, original keys along with the original registration slips that she gave me and she was going to give me all the service records for the car as soon as she could find them because it was always serviced by the dealership. It does need to have the brakes rebuilt because they no longer work. But has all of the original hub caps rims and some extra parts because her Dad had also bought a 63 Mercury Comet hardtop at the same time he bought this convertible and the hardtop was wrecked and he stripped some parts off of it and saved them, so there are extra moldings and extra radiator. that will go with the car. This was the first year that Mecury Comet came with a V8 and 4 speed with AC and convertible!!! Very low number of these cars were produced with these options.... Thank you for looking and God bless!!!

This Mercury Cyclone is an American Muscle Car in Norway
Tue, Oct 27 2015The picturesque Norwegian countryside certainly doesn't seem like the natural stomping grounds for a 1969 Mercury Cyclone, but owner Alexander Brevik makes the odd combo look like an ideal match. Even with the beautiful surroundings, Brevik sees no need to enjoy the scenery; he'd much rather just be driving this vintage muscle car. Take a ride with him in the latest clip from Petrolicious. Like many of us, Brevik's automotive obsession started at childhood, and today he has amassed a multitude of projects to wrench on. While he loves working on all of these cars, we all need a break sometimes, and that's what the Cyclone is for. Even when the rest of his collection isn't running, this orange beauty is always ready to go. Brevik may not pay much attention to the landscape, but Petrolicious makes the muscle car look fantastic in the Norwegian woods nonetheless. With its rumbling V8 engine and three-speed manual, this Cyclone turns out to be a perfect cruising companion in the Land of the Midnight Sun. And if you just can't get enough of classic muscle cars and the people who love them, check out our video coverage of the 2015 Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit down below. Related Video:
Ford Announces Free Brake-Pad Offer If Customers Stop By Dealers
Mon, Aug 4 2014These days, when you buy a new car, it's not unreasonable to expect a certain period of free maintenance to come along as well. Sometimes this is through the life of the warranty, in other cases a little less. But Ford Motor Company is going beyond those deals for at least one part of its cars. As of now, if you buy a set of Motorcraft brake pads for a Ford, Lincoln or Mercury model, you get free replacements for as long as you own the vehicle. The offer is good at Ford or Lincoln dealers and Quick Lane Tire & Auto Centers. "We will replace the pads for as long as you own the vehicle," said Elizabeth Weigandt to Autoblog. She did clarify that the Motorcraft pads are generally for models from the '90s or newer. Also, to take advantage of this program, a person must return to the same dealer each time to get the free parts. Of course, Ford isn't just handing out brake pads to anyone who walks by; there are certain stipulations. First, the components have to be worn down to less than three millimeters to be eligible, and the buyer still has to pay for the labor to install them. If the model is used as a fleet vehicle for commercial purposes like as a taxi or limousine, this offer also doesn't apply; the same thing for racecars. On the plus side, if you recently bought a set of pads from one of the participating locations, you're still in luck. The deal covers parts purchased as of July 1. "This program reflects our commitment to providing customers with an excellent ownership experience regardless of the age of their vehicle," said Frederiek Toney, President of Ford Customer Service, in the company's announcement of the offer. eBay Find of the Day: Mercury Marauder two-door convertible
Wed, 31 Aug 2011Never underestimate what you'll see on eBay Motors. Take this unique creation, for example. Near as we can tell, it's the same 2002 Mercury Marauder that was modified into a two-door convertible by Ford for the 2002 Chicago Auto Show. According to the seller, this car still boasts its Eaton supercharger bolted to a 4.6-liter V8 engine, and at the time of its debut, the engine was rated at a lofty 335 horsepower. We have a hard time believing that the extra ponies would do much to offset the weight of the additional frame stiffeners and top mechanism on the car, however.
The vehicle is currently offered for sale by a dealer in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, though the listing is mum on how the convertible managed to make its way from Ford's Windy City show stand into the seller's inventory. If you like what you see, the machine can be yours for the princely sum of $75,000 or best offer. Head over to eBay Motors to take a gander at the listing.
