Mercedes-benz E-class Base Coupe 2-door on 2040-cars
Nutley, New Jersey, United States
Up for sale is my beautiful 2012 Mercedes E550 Coupe. More rarer and better performing than the E350 Coupe with a twin turbo V8 pumping out 402 horsepower and 443 pounds of torque. Even more rare is that it's Obsidian black with the Designo interior package. As you can tell from the pics, it's a stunning yet classy combo. This beauty is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition. Most recent service includes oil change and new brakes. This car needs nothing! Comes complete with full service records, manuals and original window sticker! Never smoked in, no accidents, adult driven and never abused! I am selling it because I am finally pulling the trigger on my first dream car - a new Corvette. I also picked up a commuter car, so the Mercedes will remain garage kept until it is sold (it will have less than 32,700 miles). As a result, it is not in my best interest to hold on to this car any longer (insurance, extra garage parking, etc.) which is why I am aggressively setting the reserve and starting bid of $34,999! You can buy-it-now at $38,999, but if you're the only bidder at $34,999, it's yours! You will be hard pressed to find this car in this condition at this price point, but don't take my word for it. Feel free to bring a mechanic/technician to peruse, inspect and test drive this vehicle. You will not be disappointed. In addition, the Mercedes warranty is valid until January 27, 2016. Also there is a tire and wheel & paint and dent removal warranty valid until January 27, 2017. The vehicle is available for viewing on weekends and evenings in Fort Lee, NJ - next door to the George Washington Bridge (literally). I own the vehicle outright and have the title free and clear to facilitate a seamless transaction. Bid with confidence as I have 100% feedback. Any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks and good luck!

Mercedes' Tesla fighter will have 311-mile range
Sat, Sep 5 2015Mercedes-Benz is preparing to take the fight to Tesla, and it'll do it using an EV with up to a 311-mile range, the company's research-and-design boss told German publication Auto Motor und Sport (Google Translate warning). Perhaps more impressive than just the range, though, will be the modular nature of the EV platform, which will allow Stuttgart to easily adapt it to multiple vehicles. "We are working on an intelligent concept for a highly attractive electric vehicle with a range of [228-311 miles]," Mercedes' Thomas Weber said in the interview with Auto Motor und Sport. Weber added that this vehicle is coming "soon," although that word can have multiple meanings in this industry. Mercedes is taking Tesla and the all-electric vehicle increasingly seriously, as Automotive News reports. But while it continues to invest heavily in EVs and hydrogen fuel cells – roughly half of Daimler's $6.4 billion research-and-design budget went into research on low-emissions tech last year – the company is most heavily committed to plug-in hybrids. As previously announced, Stuttgart will field ten new PHVs by 2017, including electrified variants of the C- and S-Class.
Mystery shoppers love Infiniti, hate Tesla
Tue, Jul 12 2016Infiniti, followed by Lexus tied with Mercedes-Benz took the top two spots for best sales experience according to mystery shoppers from the latest Pied Piper Prospect Satisfaction Index, while EV manufacturer Tesla recorded the lowest overall score. Not surprisingly, premium brands dominated the top ranks. Including the three already mentioned, luxury brands occupied seven of the top ten spots and included Audi, BMW, Porsche, and the only American brand to crack the upper echelon, Cadillac. Toyota, Volkswagen, and Nissan rounded out the first ten positions. The news for domestic automakers isn't good. Aside from Caddy, the only other star-spangled automaker to score above the industry average is Chrysler. The rest of FCA, most of GM, and all of Ford fell below the line. But Pied Piper's mystery shoppers handed Tesla the biggest walloping – the company is ten full points below the next lowest brand, Volvo, and its score of 86 is 17 below the average of 103. It's baffling, considering the company's touted direct-sales model. "Tesla leaves me scratching my head," Fred O'Hagan, Pied Piper's president and CEO, told Wards Auto. "They own all of their stores, so you would think each one would be doing the same thing. But they're not. Tesla is consistent in its inconsistencies." O'Hagan added that there's a "huge variation" in Tesla's store-to-store effectiveness, and that in some cases, shoppers found showroom workers that acted more like "museum curators," Wards Auto reports. It might be popular to call Tesla the Apple of the car world, but based on Pied Piper's work, the brand has a long way to go to emulate the uniform shopping experience of an Apple Store. The news might be bad for Tesla, but even for the brands that scored below average, there's cause for celebration. Only Tesla and Mini lost points in this year's rankings, and only Mercedes and Lincoln held steady. Every other brand, including Infiniti, which topped the index for the first time, gained at least one point. The biggest improvements belong to Porsche, Land Rover, and Mitsubishi, which all jumped five points. Pied Piper's annual Prospect Satisfaction Index uses mystery shoppers – over 6,100 this year – from across the country to assess dealers and generate rankings from over 50 individual factors. Here's how wildly expensive it is to participate in F1
Wed, Jan 23 2019The cost of competing in Formula One racing is extremely high. Not in the physical and lifestyle sense, although that too takes a major toll on each team and driver, but in a literal hand-over-the-cash sense. Each F1 team pays hundreds of thousands of dollars to enter, plus a fee for every single point the team earned in the previous season. Motorsport.com recently detailed just how absurdly pricey entering the F1 field is. According to the piece, the price of entry goes up each year due to the U.S. Consumer Price Index. For 2019, the entry fee is $546,133, and it doesn't stop there. There are additional dues required of each team based on where the team finished in the previous season. Interestingly, the winners pay more. For example, Mercedes-Benz, the constructor champion for the past five years, must pay $6,553 per point it scored in 2018. With 655 points scored, that's $4,292,215. All other teams must pay $5,459 per point. For a full rundown of what the teams will be paying for 2019, check out the full article here.Related Video:
