Garaged at home and work 100%. 2000 Mercedes Benz SL 500 w/ AMG Sport Pkg. - Black / Beige / Blk. Conv. roof - 19000 orig. miles. Perfectly serviced by MB mechanic. The AMG package includes the: wheels, bumpers, Rocker moldings, Xenon headlamps, Multi CD player, Hardtop stand and cover. It has been meticulously cared for in every way inside / out. NO ACCIDENTS / NO BODY DAMAGE, NO RUST, NO modifications in any way whatsoever, never driven hard. It is sheer class and elegance. The original Black paint has a new-like shine. The moldings, handles, roof panel, conv. top, window glass, lettering, rubber seals, and all other exterior features are in exceptional condition. Did not take the hardtop off, but the soft roof is as new too. The AMG wheels are clean and the Michelin tires have excellent tread. It has never been run through an automatic car wash, and always hand washed / waxed. I have all of the books / manuals, even the leather wallet form MB ( see pic ). The exterior is a solid 9.75 / 10. On the inside, the Beige interior still looks, feels, and maintains a fresh crispness. As you can see in the pics, the seats have always been covered, and the flooring has no wear. The door panels, dash, center console, and displays etc. are not marked up. All of the interior buttons / switches ( power windows, door locks, antenna, keyless entry, cruise, and 6 way power seats ) work without issue. All of the dash cluster gauges are lit and function. The Bose stereo system w/ CD stacker still plays perfect. The undercarriage is dry and undamaged. Inside, it is a 9.8 / 10. Mechanically, it starts, idles, and drives smoothly as a "well-oiled" machine should. All of the servicing is up to date - super cold a/c, belts, hoses, fluids all changed / maintained at the proper intervals, The engine compartment is extra clean and the V-8 performs without hesitation on all levels; still shifts like new. I get compliments wherever I go with it, and people always say that the color combo is rich and elegant. The next owner will truly love owning this SL. Mercedes-AMG teases C63 coupe
Tue, Aug 18 2015Thanks to a recently leaked presentation slide, the cat is already out the bag when it comes to the attractive styling of the Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe. Still, Mercedes' long series of teases for the upcoming two-door's design continues in a new video. Unlike the last brief teaser, this latest clip shows the coupe completely free of camouflage. Although, the editing is so quick in the 15-second clip, you never really get a strong glimpse at the future model beyond its front bumper. Not that we're complaining about another opportunity to hear the growl from the 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8. After several videos and galleries of images with various looks at the new model, the wait to learn everything about the C63 Coupe is nearly over – the official reveal comes on August 19. All signs suggest that the two-door will offer the same choice as the sedan between 469 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque or 503 hp or 516 lb-ft versions of the twin-turbo V8 with a seven-speed gearbox.
2020 Colorado Winter Driver's Notes | Behind the Wheel S02 // E12
Mon, Apr 6 20202020 Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 I’ve had bad luck with SUVs this winter. Especially performance ones. First, I got a 2019 Range Rover Sport SVR delivered on summers right as two feet of snow fell, rendering it undriveable. Then, coronavirus cancelled Easter Jeep Safari as well as my trip out to Moab in the 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Diesel. Thankfully, when this 469 horsepower luxury mall crawler was dropped off, the sun shone down and the snow (mostly) held off. The first thing that I noticed was there were a few blank buttons throughout the cabin, something that you may see in an entry model vehicle, but IÂ’m not accustomed to seeing in an AMG. Not a great look for a vehicle with an $80,000 price tag. Thankfully that was where the disappointment ended. As soon as you press the start button, the engine fires up and the exhaust note is incredible. Hopping on the highway ramp near my house, I floored it, and the biturbo V8 had me pressed back into the driver's seat, and this wasnÂ’t even the S version that our staff drove last year. Inside and out, the GLC 63 was everything youÂ’d expect from Mercedes. The interior was immaculate, and while the infotainment wheel and touch pad may take some getting used to for someone who isnÂ’t familiar, by now I have it down so that I can use it without looking. And while the V8 left me smiling ear to ear, I was most impressed by the amount of useable interior space there is. I happened to be moving at the time of this review and while all of my large furniture was shoved into the back of a moving van, I was able to fit almost everything else in the back of the GLC. 2019 and 2020 Fiat 500X Trekking ItÂ’s hard to say goodbye to an AMG and then turn around and be excited when a Fiat 500X pulls in your driveway (I know, I know, automotive journalist problems). That being said, when the red Fiat pulled up, I found myself admiring it. I am very familiar with the 500X. Back in 2016 Autoblog had one for a year as our long term test vehicle. I drove that car everywhere, multiple trips up north in Michigan, and even tracked it at Gingerman Raceway for a few laps before the brakes started smoking. The 2019 model I had in my driveway and the 2020 model I drove in the snow up in the mountains feel very similar to that car. The interior is stylish and surprisingly roomy. The greenhouse is airy.
Mercedes AMG and Cigarette Racing debut 2,220-HP electric motor boat
Thu, 14 Feb 2013Take the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG E-Cell, stretch it and take off the wheels then make it float and you've basically got the just-unveiled Cigarette AMG Electric Drive Concept. Powered by an all-electric powertrain that offers 2,200 horsepower and 2,213 pound-feet of torque (and uses "numerous components" taken from the not-quite-as-yellow SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive), the sleek concept is being called the "world's most powerful electric drive powerboat." What that means is a top speed of over 100 miles per hour from four 60-kWh lithium-ion batteries and two banks of six liquid-cooled, permanent-magnet synchronous electric motors. And the 240 kWh of total energy should provide plenty of juice out on the water.
Launched (but not literally) at the Miami International Boat Show today, the Cigarette AMG Electric Drive Concept is the result of a partnership between Mercedes-AMG and Cigarette Racing. The boat is 38 feet long (much longer than the 15-foot SLS) and is plastered with AMG branding on the sides and top of the bow above the matte chrome yellow paint (officially called AMG Electricbeam mango). Two 220-kW chargers can refill the batteries, dockside, in about seven hours.
The idea of a powerful electric boat is nothing new (Henrik Fisker talked about a plug-in hybrid watercraft late last year), but this is the first time we've seen Mercedes put its EV technology on the water. Anyone who's afraid of driving an EV in the rain should take note. Check out the complete press release below.
