I'm selling my 1982 Mercedes Convertible. I drive this car to work almost every day and obviously on the weekends for some fun time. I get a lot of looks and an occasiional "Thumbs up" as I am driving. It has front and rear disc brakes, power steering, and power windows. It does have automatic climate control with air condition but the a/c does not work. I never really found the need, I mean really, its a convertible. It also has cruise control.
I've listed below all the mechanical repairs done over the last 2,000 miles.
The transmission was rebuilt. Has a new timing chain, head gaskets and valve cover gaskets. A new water pump, new drive belts, and a new fuel pump. It has new spark plugs, ignition wires, distributor cap & ignition rotor, and a new air filter. Several of the metal fuel lines were replaced. It has new rear brake pads & rotors, new front brake pads, and a new master cylinder. The catalytic converter and mufflers were replaced. It has 4 "H" rated Firestone tires with only 2,000 miles on them, It has new rear KYB shocks and a new steering stabilizer shock.
As you can see, there isnt much it needs mechanically. The fuel gueage works well until you are below 1/2 a tank. then it acts irratically at times. The power antenna does not retract. As I mentioned earlier, the A/C does not work. It has an am/fm/cd player but its not hooked up.
The body is in decent condition.Has a few scratches and an occasional blister of paint. There is some rust on the rockers. I cant do body work very well. On a car like this, I would leave that to the professionals, and thats why I stopped. I simply don't have the time anymore and I think ist time to move onto one of my other projects.
Thanks for checking it out

Mercedes caught testing stretched E-Class Maybach
Fri, Aug 21 2015The Mercedes-Maybach S600 won't be the only vehicle to wear the hyphenated name of two of the world's automotive luxury greats. That hulking S-Class will soon be joined by an E-Class variant, which should offer the same touch of subtle luxury as its big brother. At least, that's what we're guessing based on the latest round of spy photos, showing a stretched E-Class with some very telling camouflage. Pay attention, as our spies did, to the rear doors and C-pillar. Like the Maybach S600, the E-Class model features a larger quarter window, although unlike the S, the doors here look to be a bit larger than your usual E550 or E250. Also take note of the heavy tint on those rear windows. It's likely there to obscure whatever sumptuous hides and warm woods Maybach has fitted to the typically business-class interior. While the interior materials are likely to see sweeping changes, expect Mercedes to treat the exterior with a much gentler touch. There'll probably be some unique wheels and C-pillar-mounted Maybach badges, like what we've already seen on the S600. Check out the full round of spy photos up top, and stay tuned for more on the latest Mercedes-Maybach. Related Video:
Mercedes-Benz EQC vs. Jaguar I-Pace vs. Tesla Model X: How they compare on paper
Tue, Sep 4 2018The Mercedes-Benz EQ line is officially alive and kicking, with the reveal of the EQC electric crossover. It joins a segment that, while still in its infancy, seems ready to take off. Mercedes lists as the EQC's competitors the Jaguar I-Pace, The Audi E-Tron Quattro and the BMW iX3. While we've seen all of these, at least in concept or pre-production form, only one — the Jag — has actually been launched in production form. We've seen a concept and subsequent spy shots of the iX3, and the Audi EV will get its official specs publicized later this month. One electric SUV Mercedes didn't specifically call out was the Tesla Model X. As such, we've decided to compare on paper the Mercedes-Benz EQC 400, the Jaguar I-Pace S and the Tesla Model X 75D: All three are dual-motor EVs, though the Tesla is the longest and tallest. The EQC has the most power, but it and the Model X's 4.9-second 0-60 times fall short of the I-Pace. It also has the lowest top speed and electric driving range. (Mercedes sent us an updated range figure, but it's using the generous and largely outdated NEDC cycle; we're still waiting on an EPA rating.) We'll be interested to see how much the Mercedes weighs. Mercedes hasn't divulged the price of the EQC yet, but we imagine it'll fall pretty near to the $70,000 mark. As for Audi, we'll revisit this comparison after those details are made available on September 17. If you're interested in some other EV comparisons, we have a couple others that we published to compare the I-Pace to premium Teslas, as well as against other less-expensive EVs. If you want to learn more about these EVs, and compare them with other cars, be sure to check out our Car Finder and comparison tools. On Location at the Portimao circuit in Portugal with Mercedes
Tue, Apr 28 2015Portugal is a beautiful country, full of friendly people, historic cities, stunning coastline and, of course, vineyards. What brought us to Mainland Europe's westernmost country, though, was the high-speed promise of the Algarve International Circuit in Portimao. Mercedes-AMG was kind enough to host the international press launch of its standard-setting C63 and C63 S sedans at the Portuguese racing circuit, and we came away impressed, both with the car and with the track. It's tough work, but somebody's got to do it... Join Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski in Portimao above to learn more about the race track and the country in which it resides, and if you want to see what the circuit looks like from behind the wheel, we suggest you watch the video below.
