Special order highly optioned low mile rare color combination 2011 Mercedes ML-63 AMG

34,800 miles give or take - I drive the car on weekends - so it will continue to accumulate some additional miles until it sells. Texas & Colorado car all its life - no rust. Always garaged or under car-port as can be seen from the lack of paint fade and pristine interior. When not being driven it sits inside an air conditioned garage at 72 degrees.

I'm the second owner. The vehicle still has the original factory warranty till Nov 25th, 2014, and then has a CPO warranty till Nov 25th, 2015. Special order with options like 3-zone climate control with individual left / right sensors and polution sensor / filter (yes it all makes a big difference), rear heated seats, IR reflective glass, trailer hitch (yes an AMG can haul things), lighted AMG door sills, blind spot assist, sport sills instead of running boards, etc. Perfectly preserved, perfectly maintained with full records. Still has a factory warranty - and my dealer went over every inch of the car after acquisition performing every single bulletin worth of tweaks and repairs all funded by the factory.

Iron fist in a velvet glove. Brute of an engine, performance galore. Docile when in "comfort mode" which is where it spends 99% of its time. The devil unleashed in "sport mode". It is the perfect combination of modern utility, old world luxury, and top notch performance. This hot-rod Merc is fast, competent, luxurious, stylish, and built like a tank. If you are now a financially established car guy who wants to haul ass yet needs to haul other things too, and then in the evenings desires to put on the Ritz by showing up at the symphony in a tux with your date in a gown, this world class ML-63 AMG is the perfect way to have your cake and eat it too ! In fact your mate in a gown will appreciate that she's stepping out of this AMG at chair height - instead of that awkward dip and rise out of a low slung car.

Vehicle color is Clacite White. Java Napa leather interior - mocha not the yellowish tan color of the non-AMG cars. Chocolate brown Napa leather dash. Front exterior has color matched center panel in the grill - on most US cars it is a black plastic bar.

There are some unique features on this car; in addition to the tilt down on right side mirror when in reverse, the instrument cluster has been reprogrammed to show a digital tank fuel level  on one of the trip computer cluster display options, and both the digital and analog speedometer is switchable between miles & km for when you drive in Canada or anywhere else metric readings are needed. These program items are all stock in Canada - I had them performed on this car. In addition, the COMAND navigation maps are the recent 2014 version update. There is a compass in the interior auto-dim mirror - this feature normally was on cars without nav - but when the COMAND head unit is not on the nav page, it's still nice to know which direction you're going.

Note the picture of the HVAC controller - you have individual settings for air flow as well as temperature. On the dashboard there are individual sensors right and left for sun / temperature. The air distribution unit has motorized air flow flaps which allow for all AC on one side, all heat on the other - not the blend which occurs in so-called multi-zone cars.

The interior is nearly as new, with the original AMG embroidered floor mats placed in the rear, as the normal mats are the heavy rubber Mercedes OEM units. Both original keys are present, along with the original document kit (with the VIN label still on it), luggage compartment retractable / removable cover, and all trunk tools, including air-compressor and rear net accessories. The front license bracket plate is in the trunk as well - it was never mounted.

The car has every available standard order and special order option except the distronic cruise control.

The interior & exterior of this car are in well cared for condition appropriate for the mileage on the vehicle. It is a used vehicle so perfection is not claimed - but it's very close.

Front and rear tires are a year old with only 5000 miles on them. Brabus two-piece forged Monoblok-V wheels with Pirelli Verde LRR tires.

Everything works. Sanely adult driven. Non-smoker. No excuses.

I will consider reasonable offers, but I have no need to sell. Please don't be ridiculous; the offer of $20,000 on account of how it's a gas guzzler and the buyer would be doing me a favor by taking it off my hands - that sort of offer will have me ROTFL.

This car is like an exotic mistress. Expensive to acquire. Most assuredly high maintenance - did you expect anything else ? Definitely not for day to day use - though it has muscle under that sleek skin, and when asked nicely will helpfully carry a few gifts. Expecting to be thoroughly used after first being warmed up (and there's a gauge that helpfully tells you when), but never, ever, ever abused. It has a soul of fire, purrs under a gentle caress, sings at full bore, and is oh (!) so worth all the effort. As to looks - most ML63s are black or silver with black interiors, all alike. But like curvy Kate - the current spokesperson for Mercedes, this car is not the usual - eh ? Beautifully exotic and elegant on the outside - a bit of a chameleon. Luxurious and supremely comfortable on the inside. That sensuous Napa leather pays dividends because it will really grip you in place when the occasion requires. This ML63 is ready to come out and insanely play with the one that knows how to make it move. Worth all it takes.

So why would I give this ML63 up ? Not lightly ! Let me put it this way - if you were dating both Kate Upton and Cameron Diaz at the same time, would there not come a time when you had to choose ? I've got the same problem here with cars. Two exotics - two personalities - one or the other demands my full attention. The other is an S65. The ML63 is ever so slightly the one which makes less sense to keep, though every time I drive it - I think ...... oh heck - I'd best stop right now or I will de-list.

You know it's the best ML-63 deal on eBay or anywhere for that matter. Once in a lifetime - best not pass it up - before someone else gets it or I change my mind.

2015 Monaco F1 Grand Prix race recap [spoilers]

Mon, May 25 2015

Lewis Hamilton came to Monaco with a new three-year deal with Mercedes-AMG Petronas and a vow to not let anything, including any "mistakes" by teammate Nico Rosberg, stand in the way of his best qualifying effort. Mercedes reportedly made it rain with a 100-million-pound deal, and Hamilton made it rain right back with his first pole position at Monaco. Rosberg did make a mistake but this time it was behind Hamilton, which meant he stuffed-up the qualifying attempts of rival drivers like Sebastian Vettel. So Rosberg starts second, 0.342 behind Hamilton but 0.449 ahead of Vettel in the Ferrari. Daniel Ricciardo thinks he should have been third, but a communication error with his engineers left him in the wrong engine setting for his final hot lap, so by the very first corner he'd lost the time he would have needed to get higher than fourth on the grid. The second Infiniti Red Bull Racing of Daniil Kvyat slots in behind him, ahead of the second Ferrari of Kimi "Not A Very Happy Day" Raikkonen, who just can't get it going lately. Sergio Perez did for the Sahara Force India what the car can't do on its own, which is grab a top-ten qualifying spot. Toro Rosso rookie Carlos Sainz had qualified eighth but missed a call to the weigh bridge, so he's been slapped into the pit lane. Pastor Maldonado in the Lotus inherits his eighth place, ahead of rookie Max Verstappen in the second Toro Rosso, and Jenson Button in the McLaren. Button only got up there because of two penalties: for Sainz, and Romain Grosjean who had qualified 11th but took a penalty for a gearbox change. Want to know how hard it is to do better on race day than in qualifying at Monaco? Even the never-say-die Fernando Alonso said, "Monte Carlo is a train of cars on Sunday, the race finishes on Saturday afternoon." Well obviously, he didn't take Max Verstappen's seek-and-destroy tactics into account. The young Dutchman had made passing look like a real option in Monaco, getting past Maldonado at St. Devote on Lap 7 after a bit of argy-bargy on Lap 6, then taking advantage of blue flags to slink past teammate Carlos Sainz and Williams driver Valtteri Bottas while hiding in Sebastian Vettel's slipstream. He tried the same move on Romain Grosjean on Lap 65, but Grosjean locked him out. Verstappen lined up the Lotus driver over the following laps, then looked like he slipped to the inside at St.

2015 Chinese Grand Prix shines bright sun on the dark days of racing

Sun, Apr 12 2015

Yes, we tuned into the Formula One Grand Prix in Shanghai China to see a race. But we all know we really tuned in to see if Ferrari, or any other team, could make it a competitive race with Mercedes-AMG Petronas. Based on qualifying, things didn't get off the best of starts: Lewis Hamilton made it four-out-of-four at the front, leading all three Free Practice sessions and then taking pole position in his Mercedes. Nico Rosberg is making the most of his time in the simulator, getting closer to Hamilton as the months go by. This time he lined up in second, just 0.042 in arrears. Ferrari did its best to temper expectations after Malaysia. Even though Sebastian Vettel qualified in third, almost a second behind Hamilton, the Scuderia's race pace is still considered a danger. Kimi Raikkonen's final hot lap went sour in Turn 3 and dropped the Finn to sixth place on the grid. In between the Ferraris, Williams is another team desperately working to maintain its advantage, and both of its drivers capitalized on Raikkonen's misfortune. Felipe Massa took fourth, Valtteri Bottas was in fifth. Daniel Ricciardo led the Infiniti Red Bull Racing charge in seventh, ahead of Romain Grosjean in the Lotus earning a spirits-lifting eighth. The two Saubers continue to show how good the Ferrari engine is, with Felipe Nasr taking ninth position and teammate Marcus Ericsson in tenth. Yet when the lights went out, so did the racing, for the most part. At the end of the first lap, because of some excellent moves by Raikkonen on both Williams' and a terrible start by Ricciardo that dropped him to seventeenth, the order was Hamilton, Rosberg, Vettel, Raikkonen, Massa, Bottas, Grosjean, Nasr, Ericsson, and Pastor Maldonado in the Lotus rounding out the top ten. At the end of the race, the only positions that had changed were the final two: Ricciardo had a laps-long battle with Ericsson, passing, getting repassed, then passing again to take ninth for good, with Ericsson finishing tenth. Maldonado suffered the worst in a battle with Jenson Button in the McLaren, when Button misjudged the entry into Turn 1 for a pass and clouted the back of the Lotus. Button was able to finish but Maldonado had to retire. Yes, there were some decent moments in between, like Bottas getting by Massa at the start, then Raikkonen getting past Massa in the first few corners and the Finn's move on Bottas also letting Massa through.
