You are viewing a privately owned VERY RARE 2012 CL63 AMG Mercedes Benz Coupe “Twin Turbo”. What makes this automobile rare is the fact that it has 4 OPTION PACKAGES which very few CL63’s have  because it elevates the price of the car to over $180,000.00 “out the door”. I searched for over 1 year to find a 4-option package CL63, they are almost never available. This car has been driven very little with slightly over 12,000 miles. When not in use, the car has been kept indoors, in a climate controlled garage.  No smoking, no pets, no kids, not eaten in and not driven in foul weather. The CL63 blends brute muscle car performance with Mercedes Benz luxury and safety that is very difficult to attain in any other vehicle in the world.  This particular car is even faster than the average CL63 because it has code P30 AMG Performance package “power increase” that increases the horsepower to 563hp which represents a $7,300.00 option cost.  This car also has code H73 Carbon Fiber Trim package (from the Mercedes factory, not and aftermarket kit) which greatly enhances the beauty of the car’s interior and engine compartment which represents a $3,500.00 option cost. This car also has code P02 performance package including rear view camera, which represents a $2,200.00 option cost.  This car also has  code Y83 Designo Black Alcantara headliner, code 281 Performance Steering wheel which represents a $510.00 option cost, code 753 20 inch AMG Twin-5 spoke forged wheels (blacked out paint color) a $2,200.00 option cost and the wheels DO NOT HAVE A SCRATCH on them, and code 867 Splitview a $710.00 option cost.  The car is sitting on Michelin Pilot Sport tires that were purchased a couple of months ago and show very little wear. Exterior paint color code is 040 Black, interior color is 811 code Black AMG premium leather.  The car has a K-40 Front and Rear lazer radar detection system installed at a cost of over $4,000.00.

This car is still covered under the MERCEDES BENZ FACTORY WARRANTY through 9/27/2015.  The car will be delivered with a fresh detail, 2 electronic keys and the AMG “Owners book”.

Standard features are as follows (with the factory code reference) :  B03 ECO Start/Stop System, B12 Tool Kit, K15 Service Interval, P35 Lighting Package Code, R01 High Performance Tires (minimal wear), U26 AMG Floormats, 049 Ipod/MP3 Media Interface Cable, 230 Parktronic w-Parking Guidance, 232 Garage Door Opener, 236 LED Daytime Running Lights, 294 Driver Knee Airbag, 301 Ashtray (never used), 310 Cupholders, 359 MBRACE, 401 Heated and active ventilated seats, 427 AMG Speedshift MCT 7 Speed Sport Transmission, 432 Drive Dynamic Multicountour Seats, 435 Rear Headrests, 461 Instrument Cluster with MPH reading, 475 Tire Pressure Monitor, 494 Supplimental parts for NAFTA, 517 Sirius Satellite Radio, 518 Ipod/MP3 Interface, 530 COMMAND System with HD Navigation, 540 Power Rear Window Sunshade, 551 Anti-Theft Alarm, 581 Dual Zone Automatic Climate Control, 608 Adaptive High Beam Assist, 615 Bi-Zenon Headlamps with Active Curve Illumination, 619 Corner Illuminating Foglamps, 634 First Aid Kit, 668 Transportation Package and Dispatch Instrumentation, 772 Sport Body Styling, 810 Harmon Kardon Sound System w-Dolby 5.1, 814 6-disc DVD Changer, 875 Heated Windshield Reservoir, 876 Interior Ambient Lighting Package, 887 Valey Key, 889 Keyless Go, 910 Heavy Duty Alternator

There are approximately 2 very small rock chips in the hood, so small I can’t measure them.

Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400 priced at $48,855, AWD at $50,855

Fri, Apr 8 2016

Infiniti's most powerful production model, the new Q50 Red Sport 400, now has a starting price. You'll need at least $48,855 for the rear-drive model or $50,855 for all-wheel drive. (Both figures include the $905 destination charge.) A fully loaded, rear-drive Q50 RS400 with Direct Adaptive Steering, navigation, adaptive cruise control, a heated steering wheel, and Infiniti's entire alphabet soup of safety equipment, tops out at $57,045. (Again, add $2,000 for AWD). When it comes to rear-drive competition, the closest base price to the Q50 is the 320-hp BMW 340i. This German undercuts the Infiniti by two grand, $46,795 to $48,855. But the BMW outprices the Q50 as soon as you start selecting options. A 340i with similar equipment to a loaded Q50 Red Sport 400 costs just under $60,000. All-wheel-drive German competitors also lose out in the price war. Like with the rear-drive models, the BMW 340i xDrive undercuts the Q50 RS400 by around $2,000. Add the options, and the Infiniti becomes a better value. The other two big German rivals, the Audi S4 and Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG start at a higher price and only get more expensive. Technically the S4 starts cheaper than the Q50, but only with the standard manual transmission. Selecting the S-Tronic dual-clutch model kicks the price from $50,125 to $51,125, and going for the top-end Prestige trim will bump potential Audi owners up to $57,025. Throw on must-have S4 options, including adaptive cruise control, adaptive dampers, and a sport differential and you'll be shell out $64,425 for the Audi. The Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG is the priciest choice in this group, starting at $51,725, or roughly $900 more than a base Q50 RS400 with AWD. Options, again, are the downfall here. Building a C450 to match a loaded Infiniti will drive the Mercedes' price up to $64,315. While it occupies something of a weird space relative to these vehicles, it's also worth mentioning the Cadillac CTS VSport. It's the only car in this impromptu pricing comparo that can outgun the Q50, with its 3.6-liter, twin-turbo V6 good for 420 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. It also starts at $60,950, although that includes plenty of standard equipment. All this means that the Q50 Red Sport 400 represents a relative value. It packs more power than the Germans – 80 more than the 340i, 67 more than the S4, and 38 more than the C450 – and a more comprehensive list of options, too.

Recharge Wrap-up: Daimler spending big for fuel cells, Ford Go!Drive experiment advances

Fri, Mar 20 2015

Ford's Go!Drive experiment is entering its beta phase in London. The project, which is one of the automaker's global smart mobility experiments, uses a mobile app for on-demand carsharing of Ford Focus Electric and Ford Fiesta vehicles. The beta phase involves increasing the number of available vehicles from 20 to 50, and collecting new data from users. The program offers one-way rentals and guaranteed parking, with no membership fees and a cost of 26 cents per minute. Ford hopes to get 2,000 drivers involved in the program. Read more at Green Car Congress. Daimler will invest billions of dollars to upgrade the Mercedes-Benz Unterturkheim plant over the next few years. This year alone, it plans to spend $1.06 billion. The company expects cost savings "in the range of hundreds of millions of euros until 2020," while maintaining its workforce of 18,700 employees and adding 150 vocational training positions. The upgrades will allow the plant to become a center for building more efficient engines, hybrid powertrains and fuel cell systems. "Alternative drive systems are an important element of our future mobility," says Mercedes-Benz's Markus Schafer. "Their share of automotive production is set to steadily rise over the next few years, complementing our highly efficient engines within the portfolio. This is what we have laid the groundwork for today." Read more at Reuters, or in the press release below. The Department of Energy is providing $20 million in funding for the development of more efficient high speed industrial motors and drives. Ditching old motors and gearboxes for ones that use integrated power electronics could help decrease the energy consumption of the industrial sector, which currently uses more than 25 percent of the electricity generated in the US. The projects being funded will reduce losses and decrease the size of drive systems used in industries like petroleum refining and natural gas, which could affect the lifecycle efficiency of transportation fuels. 2015 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe

Wed, Dec 17 2014

Conventional wisdom would dictate that adding more power and several key performance enhancements to an already very good car, like the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S550 Coupe, will end up equaling an even better car. In the case of the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe, conventional wisdom sort of applies, but perhaps not as much as we'd have initially guessed. We'll get into the nitty gritty details in just a moment, but here's the most immediate takeaway we had in our minds as we walked away from this super coupe: The S63 AMG is excellent, but so is the slightly more mundane S550 Coupe on which it is based, and which is priced some $41,000 less expensive than its more powerful sibling. Chew on those figures while we examine what differentiates the two S-Class Coupes. Drive Notes As expected, the single greatest highlight of the 2015 S63 Coupe is its engine. As a powerplant, it's a gem. As a hand-built engineering exercise, its 577 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque are just as impressive in real life as they sound when recited from stat sheets. Not that the old CL63 AMG was lacking in power, but the new S63 AMG Coupe boasts 41 more horses and 74 more lb-ft than the outgoing engine. The run to 60 miles per hour takes a scant 3.9 seconds, according to M-B, aided in no small part by the car's 4Matic all-wheel-drive system and other assorted electronic brains deciding where, exactly, all those ponies should be sent. The rear-biased system is tuned to send two-thirds of the engine's power to the rear wheels in a bid to make the car feel more like what performance-minded drivers expect. Top speed is electronically limited to 186 miles per hour, which is plenty fast enough, even in the days of 200-plus-mph sedans from M-B's former corporate cousin Dodge. We didn't get anywhere near the car's maximum velocity, but our brief trips into triple-digit territory were quiet, comfortable and completely free of drama. The seven-speed automatic gearbox responds quickly to requests of your right foot, but the steering wheel-mounted paddles don't change gears as quickly as we'd like when in Manual mode. Controlled Efficiency (which we'd call Comfort) maximizes efficiency, keeping the transmission in higher gears and shifting earlier than when in Sport mode, and we didn't find much fault with the computer's shifting algorithms in either setting.
