2000 Mercedes Cl500 Xenon, Amg Rims Owned By Hootie & Blowfish Darius Rucker on 2040-cars

I've always liked the CL500 and bought this CL500 at a Copart auction as I couldn't understand why it was there. No body damage, no interior damage but the car wouldn't start. So after winning the bid I checked the fuel pump fuse and was pleasantly surprised to hear the V8 engine come to life and sounding good as new. The weird thing was when I was picking up the car I was approached by a worker who asked if I had bought "Hooties Car". I said I guess, and went on my way. When I got the car home I was thinking about "Hooties Car" and went to investigate as I knew he lived around Charleston SC. Sure enough, tucked away in a hidden compartment was the insurance card issued to Darius Rucker, so if you are a Hootie and the Blowfish fan you can have the ultimate souvenir and ride like a Rock (country) Star! If you're not a fan well here is the scoop on the rest of the car. Exterior is very nice with only normal wear and tear associated with a 128K mile car. Its well optioned with everything from a sunroof to rear shade to Xenon headlights. Runs and drives excellent, engine sounds excellent, shifts flawlessly and the hydraulic suspension functions as it should as when you turn the car on and put it in gear you can feel it self level. Interior is good though being at Copart someone decided to steal the shift knob and surrounding trim (see picture). Rims are in good shape but the rear tires are going to need to be replaced. It was issued a salvage title I'm thinking because of a flood related issue as when I pulled the fuse I could see the signs of a water line that barely breached the floor but as the fuse for the fuel pump is located low on the CL it was effected by the water which blew the fuse. The bad things are as follows: sunroof slider shade is in poor shape and missing its felt cover and will need to be replaced or taken out, power seats do not work probably a result of the water intrusion knocking out the computers which are located on the floorboards, radio works but I do not hear any sound, SRS light is on as well as an ABS light. In all a very nice car that still gets a lot of attention even being a 14 year old Mercedes coupe! I am sure I'm forgetting to address something you may want to know so please feel free to email me and I will be glad to answer any questions. Thanks!

2016 Mercedes-Benz Metris hits US in October, priced from $28,950*
Wed, Mar 4 2015A Mercedes is hardly what we'd call a budget proposition for most, but everything being relative, what's the cheapest Mercedes you can buy in America? That used to be the C-Class, but not at the $40k it's pushing these days. The CLA or GLA start at over $31k, so one of those must be it... right? Keep trying. And the Smart Fortwo doesn't count. No, the most cost-effective Mercedes you can get in America is the one you're looking at here. It's the new Metris van, and it starts at just $28,950 (*plus a $995 destination fee). Joining the Sprinter (which starts at upwards of $35k), the Metris is Benz's new midsize van – filling a niche in between small vans like the Nissan NV200 or Ford Transit Connect and fullsize ones like the aforementioned Sprinter. It's about as long as the Dodge Caravan-based Ram C/V, but narrower, taller and with significantly more payload and cargo space. Mercedes calls it "right-sized," and evidently hopes commercial drivers and fleet operators will agree. Now if you've never heard the name Metris, you were probably distracted by all the glitz and glamor when Mercedes presented four of them at the SEMA show late last year. But that's alright, because it's a new nameplate: it's essentially the same as the Vito sold overseas, where it will continue carrying that same name, while being sold in North America as the Metris. Both cargo and passenger versions will be offered, the latter starting at $32,500 (plus that $995 destination fee). Power comes from a four-cylinder gasoline engine driving 208 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels through a seven-speed automatic transmission. It's also got all the electronic bells and whistles you'd expect from a Mercedes, including fuel-efficiency and safety equipment – but stopping short, of course, of the luxury features. This is not that kind of Mercedes, and the luxed-up V-Class version offered overseas won't be making it Stateside. The Metris is being showcased this week at the NTEA work truck show in Indianapolis, with deliveries set to commence this coming October through a network of over 200 Mercedes van dealers across America, who will offer it alongside the larger Sprinter. Mercedes spotted testing new GLC-Class
Thu, Apr 30 2015Mercedes is set to replace its GLK-Class compact crossover with the new GLC, and here's our best look at it yet. Previewed in concept form with a sloping coupe-like roofline in Shanghai and previously spotted wearing swirly camouflage (in AMG form, no less), we can easily see from these latest spy shots that the GLC will ditch its predecessor's straight edges for a far more rounded form. Sort of like a C-Class, but taller. That, we gather, is kind of the point, as Mercedes moves to realign its crossovers with its sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible counterparts: GLC with C-Class, GLE (nee M-Class) with E-Class and GLS (GL) with the S-Class. And of course the GLA with the CLA and A-Class. Look for the new GLC to debut in June, soon to be accompanied by a chopped-roof version and offering similar powertrain options as the latest C-Class sedan. Hopefully the range will eventually include an AMG performance version, too. Related Video:
