Watch below video of car driving etc.. may have to copy/paste to watch youtubevideo 2011, AWD C300 Mercedes with only 6k miles. It is the luxury model with sunroof, navigation, etc.. With winter coming the All Wheel Drive feature will be great to have if you live in snowy areas. This is actually the newest/nicest car I have personally driven and is really nice to drive. The paint is in excellent condition with no door dings or dents and very few tiny flaws. The leather is also in very good condition. Car has navigation and works well. Sound system is great and gets pretty darn good gas mileage. I am in sales in the shipping world and wanted to upgrade from my 1999 lexus which has been a great car but is time for something newer and more presentable and professional. Although the car is nice to drive there are some things that need to be fixed that are linked to the cars past salvage history from water damage. The majority of things work well but these things need someone who has some skills to fix them and I learned quickly I do not have those skills. Like I mentioned most things work well like sunroof, windows, radio, navigation, blinkers, dash, etc. but these are things I noticed need work. I noticed my wipers wouId not turn on. The seat does move forward and back but is not getting proper power and mechanic says the Sam or Sams computer needs to be purchased (new was expensive but used on ebay or car-part.com was reasonable but need to have some knowledge scan it and get it all working)??? There is a light on the dash that says hood latch open and SRS light is on also. I had a fellow that is a mechanic that I thought could help fix the little things (and told me he could) but found out he does not have the expensive scanner to tell him where to fix and what to replace etc on a car that new. He said I should take it into the dealer but at over $125/hour I could see that getting expensive fast. My mechanic borrowed a scanner and told me I needed to replace a computer unit called a SAM or SAMS to get the wipers and seat and other things to work etc. but that was just under $900 from Mercedes plus their labor etc.. I think he is used to working on a little older cars so I do not think it is wise for me to spend that much money at the mercedes dealer as that will add up quick and I dont know enough to really double check them so as not to get taken advantage of. So this will be a good deal for someone with a little knowhow. I have taken more pics than they allow listed here so if you let me know where to send them I can get more pics and also send the video I made (7 minutes long showing the car and running/driving or copy it below and past it in browser to view.) A general guestimate would be $500 to west coast, $750 give or take to midwest, and $1100 or so to East. $1500-$2000 or so to some countries but would need specifics to get more accurate. I do have the car listed locally for sale or trade for something interesting and have had some decent offers which I have directed to bid on ebay but just wanted to see if it would do more. Mercedes-AMG GT pressed into service as DTM safety car
Fri, May 29 2015DTM is one of the most competitive, fast-paced touring car series in the world. So to set the pace, the marshals need a pretty fast car as well. And that's just what they got with the new Mercedes-AMG GT pictured here. Marking its debut at the Lausitzring speedway this weekend, the AMG GT S safety car is based closely on the road-going model, but like the version that's already in use in Formula One, it's been modified for safety-car duty. That means a low-profile light bar mounted to a carbon-fiber air scoop on the roof – both tested in a wind tunnel – as well as the front splitter and rear wing from the optional Aerodynamics package, and the optional upgraded rolling stock. Inside it's got racing buckets, six-point harnesses, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and special radio equipment. Otherwise it's essentially the same as the road-going model, right down to the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 and seven-speed dual clutch transmission. After all, with 510 horsepower on tap, it ought to be able to stay out ahead of the 490-hp touring cars currently competing in DTM. The new safety car replaces the C63 AMG Black Series coupe that Mercedes previously contributed to the effort, and will alternate with the vehicles furnished by rivals Audi and BMW from race to race. A new Safety Car celebrates its DTM premiere: at the second DTM race at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz (29 to 31 May 2015), the Mercedes-AMG GT S is set to be deployed for the very first time. The new sports car will help to ensure maximum safety on the race track in the world's most popular touring car series. In technical terms, the 375 kW (510 hp) eight-cylinder sports car is for the most part the same as the series production vehicle – just like its counterpart from the FIA Formula 1 World Championship™, the Official Safety Car. In its road-going guise the Mercedes-AMG GT S has turned heads since its market launch in March 2015 and now the sports car is also taking to the DTM stage. The new season of the German Touring Car Masters (DTM) got under way during the first weekend of May in Hockenheim. The second DTM race taking place at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz at the end of May will see the Mercedes-AMG GT S make its first appearance as the official Safety Car.
Next Mercedes-AMG E63 to produce around 600 hp
Thu, Aug 13 2015"Sources" have told Autocar that the coming Mercedes-AMG E63 will get "something in the range of" 600 horsepower from a "next step" development of the 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 currently in the C63 sedan. Since the standard E-Class isn't due for introduction until the 2016 Detroit Motor show, we're probably a year away from finding out if "something in the range of" actually means a square 600 hp when the car the AMG E63 is revealed. Right now the E63 S is powered by a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 it shares that engine with the CLS63, S63, SL63, and G63, and all but the G63 get 577 hp from that engine. The 4.0-liter V8 in the C63 S is rated at 503 hp in the S model, the same as the dry-sump version of that engine that gets 503 hp in the AMG GT. Point being the jump to 600 hp isn't outrageous, and would keep up with the numbers rumored for the next BMW M5. New turbos will likely be responsible for much of that power, with AMG's powertrain chief having told Road & Track that the present turbos are doing all the work they were designed for. Depending on where the much lighter AMG GT3 road car comes in, the next AMG E63 should be the most powerful V8 model in the range. There'll be plenty of other doodads besides, like a new nine-speed automatic, 84-LED adaptive headlights, remote controlled parking, smartphone-activated NFC-based unlock and vehicle start, Vehicle-to-X communication, adaptive cruise control that recognizes speed limit signs, and a massive advance in the suite of Mercedes Intelligent Driving features. Hollywood stars drink hydrogen B-Class F-Cell emission water in Death Valley [UPDATE]
Tue, Feb 4 2014A plug-in electric vehicle can be used to power a house during a winter storm, but if you're more worried about the heat of, say, Death Valley, then maybe you'll want a Mercedes-Benz B-Class F-Cell along. That's the message of a new video from Daimler and starring Diane Kruger (Inglourious Basterds) and Joshua Jackson (Fringe) that promotes the company's hydrogen-powered car. The gist? You can drink the tailpipe emissions. The two Hollywood stars drove in Death Vally without any water in their F-Cell but had a special tank hooked up to the tailpipe to collect the H2O drips as they drove in 100+ degree temperatures. There's a reason these two actors were chosen, since they've been driving an F-Cell in their daily lives for two years, according to the Diamler press release. The text is, shall we say, a bit hyperbolic - "Their lives rely on the emissions of the B-Class F-CELL" it says, totally ignoring the film crew that is obviously along for the ride and more than likely had a few bottles with them. Also, when the California Fuel Cell Partnership promoted the same idea a few years ago, it clarified that, "A fuel cell doesn't produce enough water to fill your glass. ... If fact, fuel cells produce about the same amount of water as gasoline vehicle – about 1/3 cup for a full day of driving." Thus, this whole thing is a Hollywood stunt, but it's a visually effective one. See for yourself in the mini-movie below. UPDATE: Daimler has told AutoblogGreen that there was no "extra Hollywood magic" needed for the water collected in the video. Instead, Madeleine Herdlitschka, who works at global communications for Mercedes-Benz Cars, said, "Considering the technical characteristics, the Mercedes-Benz B-Class F-CELL emits about 9 kg of water vapor per kg of hydrogen while driving. The vehicle has a hydrogen capacity of about 3.7 kg, what is sufficient for a max. of about 400 km of range. A tailor-made construction, designed by the production company Markenfilm Crossing in cooperation with our fuel cell experts, made it possible to collect the water in a tank - previously cooling the vapor with a specially designed pipe system."
