1999 Mercedes-benz C43 Amg on 2040-cars
Harwood Heights, Illinois, United States
Hello! Listed here is my 1999 C43 AMG. Clear illinois title and Carfax. This car drives very well. This car was originally bought in Canada so it has a KM cluster and Celsius reading for aircon. The cluster reading states 192,500 kilometers which is around 119XXX miles. The car had minor body rust which is very common on these cars, I had her repainted in its original black opal color. She looks very good but keep in mind its not a show quality paint job but still looks sharp. Transmission had been replaced by the previous owner. Shifts very smooth and on point.
I have changed parts out which include: Lower control arms and balljoints, center steering link with inner and outer tierods. Steering damper shock. Motor mounts and transmission mount. Serpentine belt. Coolant flush with MB fluid. Oil filter housing gasket and oil cooler gaskets. New Eibach springs all around with a lower stance. New Bridgestone Blizzaks on New 17' Rial wheels. ( Made in Poland) not China MB rubber all weather mats Momo wood steering wheel from the late 90's that was a New old stock I imported from Europe. Feels very good and sporty. ( I still have the original wheel that will be given) Aftermarket Navigation radio w/ original Bose speakers. ( original radio included as well ) Cons: fuel guage only works when a quarter tank in left. ( I messed it up while installing the steering wheel as well as not putting the cruise control stalk back either) I never looked into it because it gives you enough of a reading so you don't run out of fuel. Trunk button is missing on the interior console. ( works fine on the remotes) Overall this is a very good solid driving AMG that I love to drive. With all the work I have done to the front end suspension she drives like a true sports sedan. I am open to offers close to my asking price but please be respectful as I am in no rush to sell. Thank you for looking at my ad! Car is in Norridge,IL 60706 |

Xcar drives the Mercedes-AMG C63 S
Wed, Mar 11 2015The transition among Europe's high performance vehicles from naturally aspirated power towards turbocharging has taken time but has shown constant progress. The march seemingly started with hot hatches when models like the Volkswagen GTI quit adding displacement and finally succumbed to forced induction. Now, the change has affected the higher rungs with the latest BMW M3 and possibly even all future Porsche 911s. Of course, the question arises does this shift really matter to the driving experience? Xcar Films aims to find while taking a spirited ride in the new Mercedes-AMG C63 S. One thing is for sure; the switch from the 6.2-liter V8 in favor of the new 4.0-liter twin-turbo doesn't seem to be hurting the Merc's sound. Even with forced induction, the exhaust still emits a very angry grumble. Find out from Xcar if the rest of the new engine's attributes stack up quite so well, though. Related Video:
Car subscription services: A slow, expensive start — but the potential is huge
Wed, Dec 26 2018Americans are used to paying for subscriptions — to magazines and cable television, for instance — but experience shows they'll cancel when the price of admission gets too high, or there are more tempting alternatives. Cord cutters ditched nearly 1.5 million pay-TV subscriptions in 2017, according to a survey by Leichtman Research Group. Cable TV started out cheap with basic offerings, and then got expensive. The auto industry's subscription offerings are new, but they're starting out costly, and not price-competitive with traditional leasing. The upside is that they take the hassle out of car ownership for busy people by letting the service take care of maintenance, insurance, licensing and taxes. And they give consumers choice, often allowing relatively painless switches between different cars in the automakers' lineup. Subscription services also point the way toward an ownership-free auto experience, and offer an easy transition to a potential world where ride- and car-sharing will be dominant. Subscriptions are here to stay, but consumers may take a while to "get" them. Lincoln's subscription service for lightly used 2015 to 2017 models, offered through the Ford-owned Canvas beginning this year, got off to a slow start. Many early subscribers canceled. Last month, Cadillac announced it would " temporarily pause" its $1,800-per-month Book subscription service for "adjustments" as of December 1. According to the Wall Street Journal, "Snags with the back-end technology used to support the service made some customer-service functions tedious and time-consuming, adding costs for the company." The challenge for automakers is to come up with a strategy that offers consumers a compelling, affordable option to regular ownership, and one that can also make a profit. I think they'll find that sweet spot, but they're not there yet. Jack Nerad, former executive editorial director at Kelley Blue Book and author of " The Complete Idiot's Guide to Buying or Leasing a Car," points out that "A lot of people expected that subscriptions would be very valuable for people who wanted inexpensive transportation, but the reality is quite the opposite. Subscriptions are offering more choices for the wealthy.
