2000 Mercedes Slk 230 on 2040-cars

I have a 2000 Mercedes SLK 230 that is about 80% complete. I purchased it for parts and I removed front clip (including front of frame rail). Remainder of vehicle is complete. This car was purchased from an insurance company as a flood car. I am not able to tell how much of the car was exposed to water but the interior is in very, very good condition, other than paint peeling from center console (which is common in all SLK models). There are many good parts that can be used from this car. I have seen a single tail light sell on ebay for $250. All remaining body panels are also in very good condition and have no dents or paint chips. I do not know condition of engine/transmission. There was no battery when I purchased and I had shipped directly to body shop that removed front clip.

On Location in Switzerland and France in the 2016 Mercedes GLC
Tue, Aug 18 2015Our first test drive of the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC was a flat-out European adventure. We spent two days driving through Switzerland and France, with a brief stop in Germany. The twisty roads took us through vineyards, farmland, and villages that are centuries old. The historic setting stood in contrast with the sleek, contemporary GLC. It's Mercedes' newest small crossover and replaces the GLK in the company's portfolio. While we soaked in the culture, we also got a taste of the GLC's abilities. This is not a simple refresh of the GLK. The GLC has delicate curves, a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, and a new wave of Mercedes technology. The changes are sweeping, and the GLC looks and drives much differently than the edgy, V6-powered GLK. Admittedly, we liked the GLK's rough-hewn feel, though we warmed to the GLC's more subtle charm. This evolution may have occurred as we crossed the Alsatian region of France. Or maybe in Amsterdam, where we contemplated the GLC's merits and our travel plans for getting back across the Atlantic. Regardless, over the course of our trip we reached a conclusion: the GLC is more in-step with what today's consumers want in their crossovers. It took a long drive over some of Europe's oldest roads for us to arrive at Mercedes' new way of thinking. Related Video:
Carlsson turns Mercedes-Benz SLK into 610-HP hill-climb clawer
Mon, 28 Jan 2013Carlsson's race-tuned versions of the Mercedes-Benz SLK have been taking checkered flags for years, and we won't be surprised if its SLK 340 hill climber fares any different. Developed by multiple German and Swiss hill climb champion Reto Meisel, the carbon-bodied SLK 340 with lightweight brakes and a closed underbody weighs 1,716 pounds. Propelling that tiny bit of weight is a 3.4-liter V8 from Judd with 610 horsepower, and it rolls on 18-inch wheels shod in Avon tires.
It will debut at the Geneva Motor Show before beginning its racing campaigns in the summer. This one won't just tear up roads in Europe, though - Meisel says he plans on bringing it to the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. The press release below has more details.
