This '89 560 SL is a two owner car that was leased to the original owner by Dana Mercedes Benz on the 10th of
November 1988. The car was bought by the Lessor at the lease end when the car had less than 2,000 miles. It was
kept in an air conditioned and heated garage from the date it was bought until it was traded to Ross Mercedes in
1996. The car at that time had 7700 miles on the odometer. The car was purchased by its second owner from Ross
Mercedes in March of 1996 and the car continued to have been stored in a climate controlled environment, detailed
weekly by hand and driven very seldom as the present mileage would indicate, 13944, some 5200 miles in 20 odd
years. This car had Dayton Wire Wheels installed when it was purchased by the first owner and those wheels (in
absolutely perfect condition) remain on the car today with original equipment Pirelli Radials installed which are
also perfect. The original Mercedes wheels are with the car, also in perfect condition and have been stored in the
boxes in which the Dayton's were delivered and will come with the car when purchased. This car has not had any body
damage or paintwork ever, not even a touch up and the paint is virtually perfect, the interior is perfect, the
chrome is perfect, no rust on the underside or anywhere for that matter. All of the glass is original and perfect
with all Mercedes markings in place. The chocolate Mercedes canvas top is original to the car also is perfect and
has all the markings in place for documentation. The convertible top has remained up on the car with the hard top
stored on a MB stand with cover. The car also comes with a Mercedes Benz Factory issue car cover and stand where
the hard top was kept when stored and not in use. The unique thing about this car is the way it was stored in a
climate controlled garage, so all of the belts, hoses, seals, insulation materials, rubber door seals, hood seals
etc. and the convertible top are all original to the car and all virtually look brand new.

Which car should win 2015 World Green Car of the Year?

There were three finalists for the World Green Car of the Year announced about a month ago at the Geneva Motor Show: the BMW i8, the Mercedes-Benz S 500 Plug-In Hybrid and the Volkswagen Golf GTE. With the New York Auto Show upon us and the winner scheduled to be announced tomorrow, we thought it's high time to ask our readers which one should win. Mercedes celebrates with World Championship edition SL63

Mercedes has plenty to be celebrating at the moment, having just won the Formula One World Championship in spectacular style – taking the constructors' title by a huge margin and the top two slots in the drivers' standings as well. It almost goes without saying that the German outfit would celebrate with a special edition, and that's just what we're looking at here. Presented at a special celebratory Stars & Cars event in Stuttgart in front of 50,000 jubilant fans, the Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG World Championship 2014 Collector's Edition is based on Benz's twin-turbo V8-powered roadster but with some choice upgrades. Two versions will be offered: one in black with gold accents (displayed with the Silverstone circuit layout), the other in white with silver accents (and the Hockenheim map). One was designed by Lewis Hamilton, the other by Nico Rosberg. We'll let you sort out which one was done by which, but either way there'll only be 19 examples, each dedicated to a different grand prix circuit in the championship which Mercedes positively dominated Â– winning all but three, scoring eleven one-two finishes and landing on the podium at each and every one.

Certain expectations come with the name "Mercedes-Benz." We picture cars with luxuriously appointed interiors, fashionable exteriors, Autobahn-worthy performance, and a ride that delivers an optimal balance between agility and outright comfort. Expectations, though, are no friend to the GLA250. This is a car that is deeply confused as to its purpose in life – can it be a proper Mercedes-Benz while still being a reasonably priced, subcompact crossover? After a week behind the wheel, we believe the two are mutually exclusive. Driving Notes The exterior styling is similar to the not-for-America A-Class hatchback, with the only major differences found on the rear end. That means that even with its flashy 19-inch AMG wheels and sport body styling Â– more aggressive front and rear fascias Â– the GLA is a stylish piece. We might even call it cute. Considering our 4Matic model's reasonable $34,225 starting price, the interior treatment is both attractive and uses mostly quality finishes. The matte Satin Light Brown Poplar wood ($325) covers a large portion of the dash, while the real metal found on the air conditioning vents is elegant and handsome. There is a lot of plastic in the cabin: It's soft on the dash, and switches to a piano-black finish in spots, but the center console and door finishers don't feel like they came from the Mercedes parts bin. In general, the GLA's cabin feels roughly equal to that of the Audi Q3 and BMW X1 Â– nice, but a step lower than what we've come to expect from Mercedes. The two-piece, leather-lined seats look great, but even with standard 14-way adjustability, they lack support. The bottom cushion is very flat, and doesn't support the legs. For this author, that's a recipe for near-constant back pain. That said, the chairs do look good, especially in the brown of this test car. The GLA250, like a few other models in the Mercedes range, uses a 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder, delivering a weak 208 horsepower. It makes up for that shortcoming with 258 pound-feet of torque from 1,250 rpm to 4,000 rpm. On paper, this sounds good, but in the real world, the 2.0T's power is tough to access. That's due more to the shortcomings of the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic than the engine itself. With three modes Â– Eco, Sport, and Manual Â– we thought we'd find at least one that could serve up precise downshifts.
