Low mileage 1989 Mercedes Benz 560 SL roadster with hard and soft tops. This two-owner Mercedes Benz 560 SL has only 52, 410 pampered miles. It has always been garage kept, and never driven in snow, rain or bad weather. There has never been any body work, dents, or scratches. The cloth factory soft top is original, and in excellent condition. The body in in desert taupe, which is one of the nicest colors in the SL roadsters. The interior is in off-white beige leather--Palimino I think. The interior leather has no rips, tears or signs of wear. The hard top comes with a carrier on wheels, and a dust cover. This fine 1989 Mercedes 560 SL also has a custom fitted car cover. The 1989 model year was the last year for this classic body style. It has the pagoda roof, and the rear window the hard top is heated. Mercedes redesigned the SL in 1986, giving it better suspension, brakes, and handling. And the 5.6 litre V-8 is rated at 250 h.p., and has lots of power and torque--unlike some earlier years. My SL has been dealer maintained since new. I purchased it from the original owner in 1996. The car has never had any smokers as owners or passengers. She has always been hand washed and waxed. The new Pirelli tires have about 1500 miles. The alloy wheels have no curb rash or damage. The spare tire is original. The original tool kowner's manual are included. The car is well equipped with cruise control, power windows, power locks, air conditioning (needs to be recharged), fog lamps, hard top, soft top, AM/FM cassette stereo radio, power antenna, and car cover. The battery is less than 6 months old. The car comes with a battery maintainer. This is fine, low-mileage 1989 MB 560 SL. One of these 1989 SL's with 40,000 miles just sold for $32k on ebay. I have a very reasonable price on this fine Mercedes automobile. I am selling my home which has a five-car garage, so I have to reluctantly sell several of my cars in my collection.

Daimler says straight up it doesn't cheat on emissions tests
Mon, Sep 28 2015Distancing itself from VW and its diesel emissions scandal, Daimler has put out a statement saying that it has never installed devices on their vehicles that would artificially reduce emissions during a testing process. The company added that it "actively" supports European regulators' efforts to improve emissions-testing methods to better measure emissions during "real" driving conditions. BMW put out a similar statement last week, saying that its diesels are programmed to be tested properly. While Mercedes-Benz diesels were a fixture on US roads in past decades, the company's diesel sales are now concentrated overseas. "We categorically deny the accusation of manipulating emission tests regarding our vehicles," Daimler said in Friday's statement. "A defeat device, a function which illegitimately reduces emissions during testing, has never been and will never be used at Daimler." There's a reason for that sort of straightforward statement. Namely, heads continue to roll at VW after the automaker admitted it manipulated software in its diesel vehicles to pass US emissions testing. VW followed up by saying that as may as 11 million vehicles worldwide may contain that software and has set aside $7.3 billion to address the issue. VW CEO Martin Winterkorn stepped down as well. Take a look at Daimler's press release below. Daimler AG categorically denies any and all allegations of manipulation Stuttgart, Sep 25, 2015 In light of the ongoing assertions from the Deutsche Umwelthilfe (DUH), a non-government organisation, and the related speculation, Daimler AG once again clearly states that: We categorically deny the accusation of manipulating emission tests regarding our vehicles. A defeat device, a function which illegitimately reduces emissions during testing, has never been and will never be used at Daimler. This holds true for both diesel and petrol engines. Our engines meet and adhere to every legal requirement. In light of the written request by the DUH, which was sent to us this morning with a deadline to respond by 3:00 pm (CET), and the seven questions they posed, we can confirm that none of the allegations apply to our vehicles. The technical programming of our engines adheres to all legal requirements. We have no knowledge of measurements that indicate our vehicles did not meet legally required standards.
Mercedes has X6 in its crosshairs with the GLE Coupe
Tue, Jan 13 2015In the last month, Mercedes-Benz has taken the sheet off two versions of its GLE Coupe: the 450 AMG and Mercedes-AMG GLE63 S. The models represent the German brand's shot across the bow at the BMW X6 in the luxury-crossover-four-door-coupe segment, including the high-performance M version of the bodystyle. Not much separates the styling between the two versions. Both feature sweeping arches over the hood and roofline to create their coupe-like appearance. Up front there are huge air intakes with a wide grille on top that's bisected by the brand's traditional star. The AMG version tweaks that look with the division's A-wing grille. At the rear, there are wraparound taillights and a chrome strip. The higher performance version also sports a modified diffuser and air outlets. No matter which one buyers choose, they get a healthy amount of power nestled under the hood. The 450 AMG packs a 3.0-liter, twin-turbo V6 with 362 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque with a nine-speed automatic. Opting for the GLE63 means a massive boost with 577 hp and 561 pound-feet from a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 routing through a seven-speed auto gearbox. Either way, customers get Merc's 4Matic all-wheel drive system. The luxury crossover coupe segment is often maligned for looking awkward, but Mercedes clearly sees room to grow there. Check them both out live from the 2015 Detroit Auto Show floor in the galleries above.
First official shot of Mercedes S-Class Coupe leaks out
Mon, 10 Feb 2014With the official debut for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe expected tomorrow, it shouldn't be a surprise that some clicky fingers have already managed to uncover an official image of the car before the unveiling. Outside of this sole image, though, there's precious little detail on the new car.
First posted by Autofilou and then picked up by WorldCarFans, the production S-Class Coupe isn't far off from the concept car we saw a few months back in Frankfurt. Like the concept, the leggy production model appears related, albeit distantly, to the S-Class Sedan. The hood and front fascia are longer and lower, befitting of a two-door, while the character lines in the profile are more pronounced. Obviously, the beltline and slim, B-pillarless greenhouse are coupe-only items. We can't see any details on the back of the car, although it does appear that the long hood has a correspondingly short rear deck.
We'll have all the details on the official replacement for the CL-Class when it makes its full debut tomorrow. Until then, what do you think of this lone image? Does it appear that Mercedes has got it right? In terms of design, where would you rank this with the departing CL-Class? Have your say in Comments.
