I'm selling my 1988 Mercedes Benz 560SL as I'm out of garage space.
This car is in fantastic shape and draws comments every time I have it out. I'm in my 50's and I have no clue how fast this car will go as I've never came close. I've never abused or beat this car !!! The car drives perfect and has been meticulously maintained. I've owned the car for 5 years Every filter (air, oil, power steering, fuel) was IMMEDIATELY replaced as I bought a complete MANN filter kit Every fluid replaced. New exhaust from the cat back Fog light lens' Dome light lens' Cap, rotor, wires and plugs. Last year when I got it out of winter storage it had a hesitation (drove me nuts) took it to the garage and replaced the injectors and pump ($2,000.00) Fresh Mobil 1 oil every year when it came out of storage. This car is 26 years old and has some wear: The dash is cracked the radio stopped working (I have another Becker that's included). The paint is pretty weak (it does look fantastic from 10 feet away)and there's some slight bubbling at the lower trim (see picture) The leather interior has some wear as pictured but the seats welting is in fantastic condition. I welcome you to come and see the car before you bid (or send a mechanic) The car is in East Palestine, Ohio (near Youngstown) I'm not a car salesman and I want to be as honest as I can be. I EXPECT THE SAME FROM YOU. IF THIS CAR IS NOT AS DESCRIBED, I'LL GIVE YOU $300 FOR YOUR TRIP HOME. Payment: I require $500 via PayPal at auction end. I will accept a check and IT MUST CLEAR BEFORE I SIGN THE TITLE OVER. Shipping: Thats up to you, send a service and I'll help them load the car or fly in to Pittsburgh or Youngstown and I'll pick you up and you can drive it home. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Greg Hyde 724-622-3994 from 10am - 7pm eastern standard time only. THANKS FOR LOOKING AT MY CAR |

Daimler employees can set email to auto-delete during vacation
Mon, 18 Aug 2014The Internet has shrunk the world in terms of the way people communicate by making it possible to send an email from Oslo and have it show up in Cleveland almost immediately. But that instant contact has wrecked the work/life balance for many. They get home from a long day at the office, yet they can never fully put their feet up and relax because another hour or more of checking and replying to emails awaits. However, German automotive giant Daimler is putting an end to that churn, at least while its employees are on vacation.
About 100,000 Daimler employees in Germany are eligible to opt-in to a new program called Mail on Holiday, according to The Atlantic. When the workers go on vacation, they can switch it on, and the service auto-deletes all of their incoming email. "Our employees should relax on holiday and not read work-related emails," said Wilfried Porth, board member for human resources, to The Financial Times as cited by The Atlantic.
Mail on Holiday puts a thumb on the scale of work/life balance in favor of a little more free time. The system means that Daimler employees shouldn't even be tempted to check their email on vacation because there's nothing there - and it also avoids them coming back from a relaxing holiday only to find a mailbox packed full of hundreds of unread messages. These days, people are absolutely obsessed with their work, often to the detriment of their health, not to mention spending time with their families and friends. On one hand, Mail on Holiday sounds like the sort of vacation breakthrough we'd need to truly unplug and unwind, but on the other hand, it makes our skin crawl just thinking about the lack of communication. First official shot of Mercedes S-Class Coupe leaks out
Mon, 10 Feb 2014With the official debut for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe expected tomorrow, it shouldn't be a surprise that some clicky fingers have already managed to uncover an official image of the car before the unveiling. Outside of this sole image, though, there's precious little detail on the new car.
First posted by Autofilou and then picked up by WorldCarFans, the production S-Class Coupe isn't far off from the concept car we saw a few months back in Frankfurt. Like the concept, the leggy production model appears related, albeit distantly, to the S-Class Sedan. The hood and front fascia are longer and lower, befitting of a two-door, while the character lines in the profile are more pronounced. Obviously, the beltline and slim, B-pillarless greenhouse are coupe-only items. We can't see any details on the back of the car, although it does appear that the long hood has a correspondingly short rear deck.
We'll have all the details on the official replacement for the CL-Class when it makes its full debut tomorrow. Until then, what do you think of this lone image? Does it appear that Mercedes has got it right? In terms of design, where would you rank this with the departing CL-Class? Have your say in Comments.
2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class interior caught in spy shots
Tue, 29 Jan 2013With the redesigned 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class getting closer to production, the camera-wielding crew over at Autospies somehow managed to get inside of the car to snap some detailed spy shots. As the prototypes continue to shed camouflage, it would appear that Mercedes-Benz is getting closer to unveiling the car, and with the Geneva and New York auto shows coming up, it could be sooner rather than later.
From what we can see of this car's interior, the overall look of the S-Class' cabin isn't a ground-breaking departure from the current car, but it has been completely redesigned with more advanced technology. The styling is now even more upscale with larger swaths of wood, more shapely door panels (without the built-in armrest cubbies) and the concept-like two-spoke steering wheel. The highlight of this car though is probably the two massive digital screens with one being used for driver information and the other used for navigation, audio and infotainment systems. One other detail we noticed about this car is that it was equipped with the new 360-degree camera that debuted on the new GL-Class and will also be used on the 2014 E-Class. We also know that the next-gen S-Class will be getting the new cloud-based MBrace2 infotainment system.
As for the exterior design, it looks like the next S-Class will carry a similar profile as the current car, but we can see through the camouflage that the new styling will fit in better with current Mercedes-Benz products. Up front, the grille is much larger is flanked by aggressive LED-trimmed headlights, while the rear view of the car shows us the LED brake light now at the top of the rear window, a more pointed trunk opening and a more squared-off rear fascia with exhaust outlets pushed to the corners.
