This is a 1986 Mercedes Benz 560 SL Arctic White convertible with a Arctic White hard top and a chocolate brown soft top. The interior is Palomino. The burl wood trim is in great shape, it does have a crack in the clear on the console. That is common for it's age. We are the second owners of this car. It has 72,589 original miles on it. This car is a smooth driver. It has brand new tires. This car is just as beautiful with the top on or off. The soft top is the original top. It has no tears. It is in excellent condition. The seats are leather and do show some signs of age and wear. I have shown this in the photos. The right front fender quarter panel has a spot of rust behind the molding the size of a nickel. I have shown this in the photos as well. This car is beautiful. Runs excellent. We purchased it from the original owner who told us, "Some people drive their sport cars to church on Sunday, I drove mine to tennis." This is a local Oklahoma car. This car has never spent the night outside of a garage, it has ONLY been hand washed, never driven in the rain and very babied. The wheels are 16 inch wheels off of a late model SL. We do have the original wheels (15 inch ) and if you purchase the car you may have them if you request them. The original wheels need paint. The wheels currently on the car are in excellent condition and the tires have less than 500 miles on them. The car also comes with a stand on wheels that will hold the hard top when you are not using it. We did replace one of the fuel pumps about a year ago and recently the radiator. All were OEM German products. You can't find a better looking 560SL. This car has NEVER been wrecked, has all original paint and original interior. Daimler CEO Zetsche answers 'Most likely' to question of a Maybach SUV
Fri, Jan 16 2015When Dieter Zetsche was asked about the possibility of getting Maybach, the reimagined Mercedes-Benz ultra-luxury sub-brand, into the premium SUV game, the Daimler CEO reportedly told Auto Express, "Most likely." Those two little words aren't a firm answer – let alone an indication of timing – but we wouldn't be shocked to find out Mercedes is already working on one. Range Rover has gone even more upscale, the Bentley Bentayga is coming this year, as will the Maserati Levante. Rolls-Royce is deciding on an SUV this year (we think it's only a matter of time before they say "yes"), the Lamborghini Urus is still expected in 2018, Aston Martin is raising funds to build a crossover, and there have been rumors of a BMW X7 and Audi Q9 for years. Point being, everyone is busy writing their own invite to this ultra posh party. The latest comments would appear to put to rest any will-they/won't-they questions around a high-riding Maybach offering. There were rumors last summer that a GL-Class SUV (a model range shortly to be known as GLS-Class) with revamped styling and lots of luxury touches would join the top-tier sub-brand, but then in November, Mercedes' global head of sales and marketing told Automotive News, "I don't want to categorically rule anything out, but at this stage we have no plans for it [a Maybach SUV]." If and when a Maybach utility does become official, we'll only be picking up where we left off with the brand's previous incarnation: a GL-based Maybach was rumored way back in 2007. Mercedes-AMG Hulks out again with new G63 test
Thu, Jan 15 2015The last time we saw Mercedes-Benz testing its camouflaged, lime-green G63 AMG, it was on the sunny roads of Germany. Perhaps recognizing that this was a tragic waste of its talents, Mercedes has now moved testing of its new brute to the windy, snowy tarmac of Sweden. Besides being a far more suitable environment for its monstrous G-Wagen, Mercedes' arrival in Scandinavia gives us yet another look at its 6x6-inspired updates. Judging by the license plates, this is the exact same vehicle we spotted way back in November, which gave us our original look at the impending arrival of the G's hoisted-up ride height, more aggressively flared fenders and meatier off-road-ready tires. As with our previous report, our spies are still arguing that the next G63 will be fitted with Mercedes' 5.5-liter, twin-turbocharged V8. That means as much as 544 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque will be on tap, and it'll all be dispatched via a seven-speed automatic transmission. The next G-Wagen is still on pace for a debut this year, although we still aren't sure where. Forced to put money on it, we'd bet on a European show, likely March's Genevan extravaganza or September's Frankfurt show.
