WHEN I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD TO REPLACE CLUSTER CURRENT CLUSTER SHOWS 195K LOOKING AT THE CAR IN PERSON IS CLEARILY NOT THE CASE. ZERO ROT, NO RUST, NEW PAINT, NEAR PERFECT LEATHER. VEHICLE RUNS AND DRIVES. HERE ARE ISSUES. FROM COLLISION REAR DRIVER SIDE WHEEL TOE'D OUT SLIGHTLY, DOES NOT WOBBLE WHEN DRIVING (ASSUMING THIS MEANS NO BENT AXLE) SO POSSIBLY BENT TIE ROD OR CONTROL ARM. REAR QUARTER PANEL PUSHED IN. NEEDS NEW REAR BUMPER . NEEDS NEW REAR DRIVER SIDE TAIL LIGHT. HATCH WAS NOT DAMAGED BUT HANDLE IS STICKY AND NEEDS TO BE PUSHED TO LOCK INTO PLACE. NEEDS NEW COOLANT RESEVOIR WHICH I AM INCLUDING AND IS A 5 MINUTE FIX WITH NOTHING BUT SCREW DRIVER. THE TRUCK JUST HAD NEW PAINT AND BEFORE THE COLLISION I WOULD RATE THE EXTERIOR 10/10 AND INTERIOR A 9/10 IT IS PRISTINE CONDITION CONSIDERING THE YEAR; POWER EVERYTHING. 10 CD CHANGER. IM CURRENTLY STILL AWAITING MY TITLE IN MAIL IF NOT IN BY TIME OF AUCTION END WILL MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO TRANSFER IMMEDIATELY; WHICH WAS CLEAR AND IS THE WAY IT WILL BE HANDED TO WHEN SOLD, EITHER PARTS OR TOW AWAY TO TAKE HOME AND FIX WOULD NOT DRIVE WITH WHEEL TOE'D OUT. |

Mercedes' CEO says Google should study car use, not car building
Sat, Feb 14 2015Google is rapidly throwing its massive weight into many facets of the auto business. Not only does the search behemoth want to take on Uber, offer car insurance quotes and run a specific version of Android on future infotainment systems, but the company is also at least toying with the idea of constructing its own completely autonomous vehicles. Such a powerful corporation entering the industry could frighten some automakers, but Daimler boss Dieter Zetsche isn't worried. The mustachioed executive doesn't believe that Google actually means to become an automaker but is instead just studying how people use cars. "Google and the likes want to get involved, I don't think in the first place to build vehicles," he told analysts, according to Reuters. Zetsche sees future collaboration with the technology giant in a quite nuanced way in that there are some things they can be partners on and other places where the two corporations might be competitors. One area where Zetsche potentially predicts an antagonistic relationship with Google regards data privacy, a concern is becoming a hot topic in the auto industry at the moment. Zetsche foresees the future of safety in Mercedes-Benz vehicles as protecting occupants not just physically but also safeguarding their personal information. "To be able to provide that, we have to keep control, and we can't do that when it is collected by Google," Zetsche said to Reuters. However, depending on the brand you buy, your time spent at the shop could be much more than you bargained for. Consumer Reports’ new study on the most- and least-expensive-to-maintain car brands found that European car companies are most likely to break your wallet with costs nearly five times that of the automakers at the other end of the spectrum. Land Rover had the highest ten-year maintenance costs, at an average of $19,250. Land Rover has consistently landed as one of the most expensive vehicle brands to maintain for years now, though Porsche is generally viewed as being one of the more solid performance brands. That could suggest that some models donÂ’t always require more repairs, but the fixes they do need are significantly more expensive. Tesla, Buick, and Toyota were the three cheapest to maintain car brands, with 10-year maintenance costs of $4,035, $4,900, and $4,900, respectively. Consumer Reports noted that these numbers could be slightly skewed due to the fact that some automakers offer free maintenance for the first few years of ownership, and all companies cover their new vehicles for at least a few years after the purchase. Routine maintenance is a great way to avoid costly repairs over time, as itÂ’s much cheaper to catch a problem before it starts causing other issues. Check your oil, rotate your tires, and avoid driving like a wild person, and youÂ’ll likely fare much better than others, even if you own one of the scarier-to-maintain brands.
Mercedes-Benz V-ision e Concept ups the plug-in hybrid van game
Thu, Mar 5 2015The various V-Class vehicles from Mercedes-Benz don't get a lot of press around here, but when the German automaker brings something as unusual as the Concept V-ision E (yes, there's a dash in the name) to the Geneva Motor Show, we're happy to make an exception. The standard powertrain V-Class was first unveiled in Geneva last year and it returns in 2015 as a decidedly Daimleresque take on a plug-in hybrid van with a whole heap of cool new technology under the hood. C'mon, you know you want a luxury plug-in hybrid van. Well, if you think you don't want a van like that, listen to the specs and maybe you'll change your mind. It's got an all-electric range of up to 31 miles (if you're going no faster than 50 mile per hour), roughly 78 miles per gallon equivalent (based on the stated fuel economy of 3.0 liters burned per 100 kilometers) and a top speed of 128 mph. That should be plenty to get the basketball team to the tournament on time and in style. The powertrain has a total system output of 333 horsepower thanks to a four-cylinder engine and a 90-kW electric motor. If those numbers sound vaguely familiar, that's because Mercedes said it's "the same advanced drive system" as what's found in the Mercedes-Benz C 350 e, even though some of the performance figures differ. Stylistically, Mercedes has pulled no punches, adding two sun roofs, a real wood floor, nappa leather and executive seats along with something shiny and silver called "designo titanium alubeam" paint. In short, this is an everything-and-the-kitchen-sink approach to PHEV design, and we like it. It's just a concept, though, so don't go asking to buy one just yet.
