1988 Mercedes Benz 280G. This is an immaculate example that looks nearly new, the 54k miles are reported as original. We had this out on the road for a few weeks, its wonderful to drive and really turns heads. This is one of a handful if not the only G wagon in the states with right hand drive, you never have to worry about pulling up to a stop light and seeing another one. The M110 model twin cam straight six is one of the best motors that Mercedes every built and is renowned for its bullet proof reliability. With 156hp you will not win any drag races but it cruises comfortably at 70MPH on the highway and is an absolute blast around town. We have had several Land Rover Defenders of similar vintage and the superior build quality and drivability with the Mercedes is shocking. Unlike many other importers all of all of our vehicles are already stateside and passed through DOT and EPA. Why take a chance buying from one of the other guys who make you wait for trans Atlantic shipping and leave you holding the bag when a problem pops up with customs. We have worked with several customers who have had this happen only to see the vehicle they just spent a significant amount of money on crushed. This vehicle has been imported in complete compliance with EPA and DOT regs, all of the import certifications are included with the sale along with the British title. Mercedes-Benz previews its curvy sports-car and design future
Fri, Jan 27 2017Suggesting creases are passe for automotive design, Mercedes showed off ideas for its future styling directions this week at a forum in Germany, including previews of upcoming sports cars and sedans. We see images of a curvy sports car study (the silver car) with huge wheel arches flared out almost like pontoons. There's also what appears to be a rear-engine hypercar (white car); we've been reading reports about it for months. Additionally, there's a red sporty saloon, as Mercedes calls it, also among the photos. It features prominent rounded fenders and a bold horizontal grille. Mercedes also previewed its upcoming A-Class, in what it calls the Aesthetics A sculpture, which looks like a car covered in a red sheet. Though Mercedes says this is its next step to a purer design, creases and strong lines are still evident on the sides. Related Video:
