This is a rare 1983 Mercedes 500 SEC coupe that's perfect for a reliable every day driver. I simply have too many cars and can't keep this one around any longer. The car runs great and has lots of labor hours donated by me. Did a complete tune-up, brake pads and rotors all the way around including drilled rotors in the back, has two new tires in the back, replaced all 4 shocks with Bilstein's, including 2 brand new engine shock absorbers (Just the 6 shocks ran me $600 without labor), replaced the tranny fluid, along with a new filter, did an oil change, replaced the instrument cluster that reads 52k(the title say it has around 240k, and STILL RUNS VERY STRONG, ITS AMAZING!!!!!, also has a brand new K&N air filter installed, as well as a new battery, and much more to list. The previous owner had the hood open on him while driving and cracked the windshield, and made a couple of dents on the hood (pictures posted) but very simple cosmetic repairs, but it works just fine. Only one window doesn't work the left rear, and its most likely just the switch. Its needs bushings on rear sway bar(but its not serious), and very little TLC is needed. Investing a couple hundred dollars will have this car in very good reliable condition. Please look at the pictures in detail. BMW expects China to pass US as its top market in 2013

When you combine two billion citizens, 100 cities with more than a million inhabitants and an economy that's as unrestrained as Jim Cramer on an Adderall binge, China's explosive auto industry growth shouldn't be a huge surprise. Audi already lists the communist country as its largest market, while Mercedes-Benz is expecting it to be there in the next few years. Now, according to a report from Automotive News, BMW is expecting the People's Republic to overtake the United States in sales by the end of 2013.
We already discovered the extent that BMW is going to in establishing a dedicated Chinese stronghold, when we explored BMW's Shanghai-based DesignWorks studio ahead of April's Shanghai Motor Show. And while we argued that DesignWorks Shanghai hasn't really borne fruit, it isn't due to a lack of sales.
BMW China has seen a 16-percent jump in year-over-year sales, lead by a 28-percent gain in 5 Series sales. Part of BMW's growth strategy comes from an ever-expanding dealership network. Remember those 100 cities we mentioned with over one million people? According to Karsten Engel, CEO of BMW's Chinese operations, those 100-million-plus city dwellers don't have access to a premium dealership.

Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-in Hybrid ready for 'major role' in urban areas

We finally got a clear look at the Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-in Hybrid at the Frankfurt Motor Show last fall, but it took until this week to learn what the vision (see what we did there) is that Mercedes-Benz has for the PHEV. Despite it's generous size, Mercedes thinks this is a vehicle that will work well in urban areas. Speaking to members of the media during the Detroit Auto Show, Thomas Weber, Daimler AG management board member and research and development chief for Mercedes-Benz cars, said that the S500 PHEV, "will play a major role in congested areas" and that it will offer "a lot of driving pleasure." Part of that pleasure will come from a 0-62 mile-per-hour time of around 5.5 seconds thanks to a turbocharged, 3.0-liter V6 and an 80-kilowatt electric motor. The PHEV also has a 19-mile EV range, which will put it at the bottom end of the Three-Pointed star plug-in lineup. The upcoming C-Class plug-in, for example, will likely go, "closer to 50 km [31 miles]," Weber said, according to Green Car Reports. The S500 PHEV will go on sale in Europe later this year and will come to the US in early 2015 but there is no timeline, yet, for the C-Class plug-in (and the standard gas-electric hybrid version) or the even-more-future E-Class hybrids.
