I am letting go of my pride and joy, its a beautiful 1987 Mercedes Benz 420SEL. Over $10,000 went into this cars' sympathy restoration done by a Mercedes Specialist shop here in the Upstate. I have records to go with the car, as well as the original manual and first aid kit! Car has too many new items to list for sure. But some big important things I'll mention; it has gorgeous new metallic flake black paint, all new suspension and brakes, tires, new cylinder heads, AC system, and you'll have to go over the restoration papers for the rest! The car performs flawlessly, its a true joy to drive and be seen in. Its a real head turner! The body is in superb condition. There is some hazing on the front and rear chrome bumper covers, as well as paint fade on top edges of the grey bumpers. The bottom two tone trim is all original. The top, black portion, is what was painted. The interior is also all original, not in show room condition for sure, but its still very nice and comfortable for its age. Everything does work as it should except the multi-zone lumbar. Upgraded steering wheel to a true OEM Mercedes all real leather steering wheel. So its not falling apart like some W126 steering wheels.

Mercedes-Benz F 015 Luxury in Motion has an absurd name, remarkable vision
Tue, Jan 13 2015We often hear about cars that don't look good in pictures. "You need to see it in person," people say. Well, the Mercedes-Benz F 015 Luxury in Motion, which the company brought to Detroit after debuting it at CES, is just such a vehicle. Besides having a very silly name and looking, according to one Autoblog editor, like a suppository, this is a genuinely striking piece of design when viewed in the metal. The shape is aerodynamic in the extreme, but still features subtle details and styling cues. Whether that be the small dorsal ridge on the roof, the simply huge wheels and the Cylon-like, wraparound taillights, despite a fairly uniform shape, there's still a lot to see on the F 015. That's doubly true in the cabin, which is typically luxurious, while also doubling as a rolling lounge withs eating for four. Accessible via barn doors that open up to 90 degrees, the F 015's cabin features fine woods and leathers, as well as seats that swivel around to face each other. Screens abound (there are six in total), and gesture-and-touch-based controls are the order of the day, producing what Mercedes calls a "digital arena." As an autonomous vehicle, MB doesn't offer a lot of technical information on propulsion or guidance systems, simply saying that the pod-like concept could accommodate an electric motor and fuel cell. Take a look at our gallery of live images Mercedes' sci-fi vision, and if there's an auto show coming to your neck of the woods, get out and see this strange and impressive car.
Mercedes GLS updates Silver Star seven-seater
Mon, Dec 15 2014It can be bewildering, the staggering array of crossovers and SUVs offered by Mercedes-Benz. There's the G, the GL, the GLK and the GLA, not to mention the new GLE and the ML that basically started it all. So you can forgive yourself if you've never heard of the GLS. After all, it doesn't currently exist. But it will soon. In accordance with Benz's new nomenclature, the GLS-Class will be the replacement for the GL – the largest of the Mercedes utility vehicles and the only one with three rows of seats. Since the current GL was only launched about two and a half years ago, the new nameplate won't be attached to an all-new model just yet. But as you can see from these spy shots, it appears that Mercedes is preparing a facelifted version of the existing model to fit into the new (or at least renamed) lineup. The biggest changes discernible from these spy shots is the revised front end, with new headlights, a more upright grille and a reshaped bumper and hood to go along with it. Around back the changes are more subtle, with reshaped tail lamps, bumper and exhaust pipes. Inside we're expecting a cleaner center console with a new 8-inch touchscreen reportedly inspired by the iPhone. We don't know when, exactly, to expect the revised GLS to arrive on the scene, but given the relatively modest nature of the revisions and how close they look to being ready, we wouldn't expect it to be long now. Whether those minor changes will be enough to keep up with the all-new Audi Q7 just announced, however, is another matter entirely.
