I have a 2004 Mazda Rx8 with 6 speed manual transmission. A mazda remanufactured motor was bought from Napleton Mazda in Schaumburg, IL and was installed 12/2012 and is warrantied thru 12/2013 or 12k. New plugs, coils and wires as well as a passenger side motor mount, header and drivers side control arm where all installed at the same time. A F1 Racing stage 1 clutch and 10.5 lb aluminum flywheel and Ralco underdrive pulley kit with Gates belts was transferred from the original motor with 10k on them. Brakes were done with rotors last summer and a 3" obx midpipe with a 300 cpi cat was installed a year ago with Walker quiet flow cat back. A starter and battery were installed a year ago as well. Car also has a flex innovations grounding kit. Wheels are Sparco Assetto Gara 18x8 +45 with GT Radial 245/40 18 UHP1 with less than 5k. Stock wheels are 245/40 18. Rear drivers side wheel well has some rust forming around it and rear passenger side wheel well has a tiny bubble. The rest of the body is straight with some touched up scratches throughout. 3 keys and an un-programmed remote come with the car. Trunk has a few missing carpet pieces and engine cover is missing. Title is clear and I will submit VIN upon request. Road Magnet springs and KYB gas-a-just monotube shocks were installed last month. Trans and Diff fluid as well as oil changed recently. Tons of new parts with low reserve!!! Newer omp installed. No CEL car pulls hard. Only light is TPMS with aftermarket wheels and auto adjusting headlight light but can see fine at night. Third brake light and 1 fog burnt out. All other lights work fine. Thanks for looking. Any questions please ask. This vehicle has no leather seats and no sunroof but has the appearence package without the spoiler and traction control.

2014 Mazda6 gets up to 38 mpg, priced from $20,880*
Thu, 03 Jan 2013The 2014 Mazda6 starts at $20,880 - *excluding a $795 destination fee - and will offer buyers up to 37 mpg highway in base form. That money will fetch buyers a 2.5-liter four-cylinder paired to a six-speed manual - a setup packing 184 horsepower and 185 pound-feet of torque. The Skyactiv powertrain is good, Mazda says, for 25 miles per gallon in the city and 37 mpg on the highway. Stepping up to the six-speed automatic gearbox will yield an additional 1 mpg in city and highway driving for up to 38 mpg highway. Despite offering more equipment, the base 2014 model carries a modest $155 price increase over its 2013 predecessor.
Available trims include i Sport starting at $22,495 and i Touring at $24,495 (*both excluding destination charges). The latter swaps the standard car's 17-inch wheels for 19-inch rollers and includes dual-zone automatic climate control and leatherette sport seats among other niceties. Buyers can snap up a tech package that includes TomTom navigation and an 11-speaker Bose Centerpoint sound system for $2,000. Keyless entry, rain-sensing wipers and the company's Smart City Brake Support are all part of that kit as well. Check out the full press release below for more information, and look for more details on the diesel-powered 2014 Mazda6 as we get closer to that vehicle's launch.
Import pickup truck-killing Chicken Tax to be repealed?
Tue, Jun 30 2015After over 50 years, the so-called Chicken Tax may finally be going the way of the dodo. Two pending trade deals with countries in the Pacific Rim and Europe potentially could open the US auto market up to imported trucks, if the measures pass. Although, it still might be a while before you can own that Volkswagen Amarok or Toyota Hilux, if ever. The 25-percent import tariff that the Chicken Tax imposes on foreign trucks essentially makes the things all but impossible to sell one profitably in the US, which lends a distinct advantage to domestic pickups. Both the Trans-Pacific Partnership with 12 counties and Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership with the European Union would finally end the charge. According to Automotive News though, don't expect new pickups to flood the market, at least not immediately. These deals might roll back the tariff gradually over time, and in the case of Japan, it could be as long as 25 years before fully free trade. Furthermore, Thailand, a major truck builder in Asia, isn't currently part of the deal, and any new models here would still need to meet safety and emissions rules, as well. Automotive News gauged the very early intentions of several automakers with foreign-built trucks, and they weren't necessarily champing at the bit to start imports. Toyota thinks the Hilux sits between the Tundra and Tacoma, and Mazda doesn't think the BT-50 fits its image here. Also, VW doesn't necessarily want to bring the Amarok over from Hannover. There is previous precedent for companies at least considering bringing in pickup trucks after the Chicken Tax's demise, though. The Pacific free trade deal could be done as soon as this fall, while the EU one is likely further out, according to Automotive News. Given enough time, the more accessible ports could allow some new trucks to enter the market.
2018 Mazda CX-5 spied testing in Southern California
Tue, Aug 9 2016It appears the replacement for the Mazda CX-5 is on its way. The current model, though a few years old at this point, is still one of our favorite crossovers on the market. Its combination of handsome styling, practicality, and a genuine fun-to-drive nature make it a winner in our hearts. Hopefully this new model doesn't stray too far from that winning recipe. At least on the outside, that seems to be the case. The spy photos reveal Mazda's Kodo design language in full bloom. The general shape is the same as the current model, but the curves are a little tighter and appear similar to the new CX-9 and Chinese-only CX-4. The grille loses the horizontal bars for a deep-set mesh pattern, while the whole fascia appears to be more upright. The headlights and taillights look to be slimmer and slightly re-sculpted versions of the current shape. Other details for the upcoming CX-5 are scarce. The crossover is expected to debut next year as a 2018 model. It's unknown what engines or transmissions will be available, though the current powertrains are likely to carry over. There's also the rumor of a Mazda diesel making its way over, but, as always, it seems like a long shot. Related Video:
