YOU AR BIDDING ON AN MINT CONDITION 1985 GSL AUTOMATIC Rx7 THAT HAS RECEIVED A POWERTRAIN TRANSPLANTED PROFESSIONALLY FROM A 1995 BMW M50 VANOS 2.5L 6 CYLINDER ENGINE AND 5 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION.

IF YOU WIN, YOU MUST MAKE PAYPAL DEPOSIT, OTHERWISE WILL LOOSE THE BID.

THIS IS A UNIQUE CAR! ABSOLUTELY THE ONLY M50 BMW SWAPPED S3 Rx7 WE KNOW.

THE CAR HAD A/C AND POWER STEERING WORKING IN PERFECT CONDITION, BUT THESE HAS NOT BEEN RETROFITTED YET FROM THE BMW SETUP, SO YOU WILL HAVE TO INSTALL AND RETROFIT THE BMW A/C COMPRESSOR AND POWER STEERING TO USE THE MAZDA HOSES SETUP.

ADDITIONALLY THIS BIMMER 7 HAS EIBACH SPRINGS AND COILOVER SUSPENSION, YOKOHAMA LOW PROFILE TIRES 205/60-13 ON REAR AND BRAND NEW SIGMA 185/70-13 ON THE FRONT.

INTERIOR IS ALMOST FLAWLESS AND SO IS THE PAINT WHICH WAS DULL BY THE SUN AND THEN REPAINTED WITH THE PORSCHE 911 CHARCOAL METALLIC PAINT JOB. CAR RUNS GREAT, IDDLE IS SET UP A LITTLE HIGH (1,200rpm) AS IT ALSO NEEDS AN AIR FILTER BOX. Now has just an aftermarket filter not shown in the pictures.

Has a big aluminum radiator with a big electric cooling fan in the front as there was no room left to put a big fan between the radiator and the motor. You will not see the battery in the engine bay as it was relocated on the back, on a storage bin behind the passenger seat. The adjustable coilover suspension can be easily adjusted to the ride height of your liking, in case you find it sitting too low to the ground.

IT ALSO HAS TUNED HEADERS AND EXHAUST. IT DOES SOUND VERY NICE IF YOU LIKE BMW SOUND, BUT STRANGE AS YOU'LL EXPECT A ROTARY ENGINE SOUND INSTEAD A SURPRISING M50 VANOS BMW SOUND. THESE ENGINES CAN MAKE A LOT OF HORSEPOWER WHEN TURBOCHARGE, JUST LIKE A ROTARY, WELL, JUST THIS ONE IS UNIQUE AND IT HAS THE FUEL ECONOMY AND DURABILITY WELL KNOWN OF A BMW.

THIS BIMMER Rx7 CAN BE DRIVEN DAILY, HOWEVER IS THE REAR END GEAR RATIO IS THE STOCK MAZDA RX-7 GSL LSD 3.90 SO IS BETTER AS A DRIFTER FUN CAR THAN A CRUISER. YOU WILL HAVE TO LOWER THE REAR END GEARING TO A 2.93 OR 3.07 IF YOU WANT A HIGHWAY CRUISER LIKE A NORMAL 1995 BMW 325i FROM WHERE THIS ENGINE CAME FROM, OR YOU CAN USE A RING & PINION FROM 82-84 MAZDA B2000/FORD COURIER THAT COMES WITH A 3.23 GEAR (SAME AS A 325Xi).

THE CAR DYNO'ED AT 200WHP AND IT RUNS VERY STRONG. IT SMOKES THE TIRES ON 1ST, 2ND AND 3RD, JUST LIKE A V8.... WILL BREAKE TIRES LOOSE BY STEPPING ON IT.  CHECK THE GRASSROOTS MOTORSPORTS TEAM AXIS OF EVIL BMW Rx-7 SO YOU CAN ASK  THEM HOW THIS SETUP WORKS ON A RACETRACK.

THE SETUP WAS PREVIOUSLY ON A WHITE 2008 GRASSROOTS CHALLENGE RX-7 GSL-SE THAT BELONG TO MEMBER pimpm3. HE SOLD IT.  CAR GOT WRECKED AND IS THE SAME SETUP NOW INSTALLED

Mazda6 diesel delayed until April

Fri, 13 Sep 2013

Diesel enthusiasts waiting on the new Skyactiv-D-powered Mazda6 will have to wait a bit longer. The shapely fuel-efficient four-door has just had its North American launch pushed back to April, due to delays in emissions testing. Mazda had originally planned to launch the Mazda6 diesel before the end of this year, making the four- to five-month delay a rather serious one.
Mazda's senior vice president of US operations, Robert Davis, told Mazda employees in a letter obtained by Automotive News that, "final certification testing - the results of which are looking encouraging - is taking longer than we had initially expected." Following this letter, Mazda made an official announcement:
"The on-sale date for Mazda6 SKYACTIV-D clean-diesel has been moved to late-Spring 2014, to accommodate final emissions testing and certification. We are pleased with the ongoing development and are excited to launch this much-anticipated vehicle in North America. 2014 Mazda6 sales continue to exceed both our expectations and our production abilities, and supplies of the car are short at dealers across the U.S. More information on the SKYACTIV-D clean diesel Mazda6 will be available closer to the on-sale date."

A car writer's year in new vehicles [w/video]

Thu, Dec 18 2014

Christmas is only a week away. The New Year is just around the corner. As 2014 draws to a close, I'm not the only one taking stock of the year that's we're almost shut of. Depending on who you are or what you do, the end of the year can bring to mind tax bills, school semesters or scheduling dental appointments. For me, for the last eight or nine years, at least a small part of this transitory time is occupied with recalling the cars I've driven over the preceding 12 months. Since I started writing about and reviewing cars in 2006, I've done an uneven job of tracking every vehicle I've been in, each year. Last year I made a resolution to be better about it, and the result is a spreadsheet with model names, dates, notes and some basic facts and figures. Armed with this basic data and a yen for year-end stories, I figured it would be interesting to parse the figures and quantify my year in cars in a way I'd never done before. The results are, well, they're a little bizarre, honestly. And I think they'll affect how I approach this gig in 2015. {C} My tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015 it'll be as high as 73. Let me give you a tiny bit of background about how automotive journalists typically get cars to test. There are basically two pools of vehicles I drive on a regular basis: media fleet vehicles and those available on "first drive" programs. The latter group is pretty self-explanatory. Journalists are gathered in one location (sometimes local, sometimes far-flung) with a new model(s), there's usually a day of driving, then we report back to you with our impressions. Media fleet vehicles are different. These are distributed to publications and individual journalists far and wide, and the test period goes from a few days to a week or more. Whereas first drives almost always result in a piece of review content, fleet loans only sometimes do. Other times they serve to give context about brands, segments, technology and the like, to editors and writers. So, adding up the loans I've had out of the press fleet and things I've driven at events, my tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015, it'll be as high as 73. At one of the buff books like Car and Driver or Motor Trend, reviewers might rotate through five cars a week, or more. I know that number sounds high, but as best I can tell, it's pretty average for the full-time professionals in this business.

RC car drift video brings Fast and Furious style in 1:10 scale

Mon, Apr 13 2015

Taking a cue from Lexus' 2015 Super Bowl ad Let's Play, Falken Tire is proving that RC cars can drift just as well, if not better, than their full-size counterparts. However, to make things four times as exciting, this clip eschews a single hopped-up model hanging its tail out in favor of a quartet of them sliding around together. Starring 1:10 RC versions of popular drift machines like the Nissan S15 Silvia, Mazda FD-chassis RX-7 and Initial D star Toyota Corolla AE86, these cars also get a suite of blinking LEDs to lend some extra color to all of the tire spinning. Plus, the use of well-positioned cameras and a scale model environment almost makes this group look like they're at work in the real world.
