1993 Mazda Rx7 5 Speed Montego Blue on 2040-cars

Up for auction my extremely clean 1993 mazda rx7. I have owned this car for about 2 years and it has been a joy. The turbos boost properly and car drives great. I put about 12,000 miles on it since I have owned it. New motor and turbos installed at 100k back in 1999 have the almost 10,000 dollar receipt to prove it. The mechanics of the car are unmolested-no aftermarket bolt ons. I do have a stainless steel HKS downpipe that goes with the car, just couldnt bring myself to install it. I did install some cosmetic add ons though. They include R1 lip spoiler, JDM Kouki tailights, JDM Nardi Torino Leather steering wheel, JDM center armrest pad which replaces the ashtray , JDM stainless steel kick plates, smoked front blinkers and rx8 18 inch rims with tires that have about 800 miles on them. Also put a glass sunroof in it from a 1994 which still has the black out panel insert that you can't find anymore. I have a delphi boost guage in steering column which matches factory guages perfectly. Laser cut plastic floor mats to protect the original ones. I upgraded the bose stereo system with new speakers and a clarion CX501 stereo with blue tooth. Bose wave tube still installed and functional. I still have the original rims with good tires I will let go with the car. I have changed the oil myself. Installed new spark plugs wires and fuel filter. I have also installed cross drilled rotors with ceramic pads front and rear. I beleive the car has had a repaint in its life because there is no clear pealing off-which is common in these. There is a weird spot on left front corner on roof that looks like sap had got on it. Have to get close to notice it but its there. I was also told I need rear pillow ball bushings it makes a kind of popping noise in rear while breaking. It looks like to me there is slight oil seep out of the right rear corner of the oil pan. I have a lift in my garage thats how I noticed this. Also the interior is in excellent shape but the drivers seat needs some attention. Feel free to ask any questions I am sure I left some stuff out. I believe I have a very reasonable reserve based on the mileage of the car. It's a very nice looking daily driver but not perfect. 500 dollar deposit in paypal upon auction close. Cash or cashiers check in person.

Car Club USA: Miatas at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca
Tue, Nov 17 2015The Mazda MX-5 Miata is a very popular car for weekend warriors looking for the thrill of automotive racing in an affordable package. These iconic, rear-wheel-drive roadsters are lauded by enthusiasts for their driving dynamics, reasonable price, and plethora of available parts. That's why the annual Miatas at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca track event draws such a diverse cross section of drivers from allover the country. But, still, some types of drivers are more well-represented than others. "I usually am the only female signed up for the high-performance driving," said Carolyn Kulaja of Gila Monster Racing. "The car doesn't care the gender of the person driving." For Carolyn, racing Miatas is a passion that developed later in life, but she's not slowing down anytime soon. "My first racecar was car number 57, which was my age when I started racing," said Carolyn. "The 88 I decided was going to be my age when I quit racing." Young competitor Kyle Koh of Infotech Motorsports has his own reasons for racing. "Driving has changed my life in a major way," said Kyle. "It took me out of a depression." Kyle's first competitive fire was directed toward football, but after breaking his back during his sophomore year of high school, he had to find another outlet. "Kyle came to me one day and he decided that he wanted a project car," explained Kyle's father and racing partner Larry Koh. "Because the Miata community is so friendly to begin with, it becomes a big family." How will Carolyn and Kyle fare through Laguna Seca's infamous corkscrew? Find out on this episode of Car Club USA. Each Car Club USA episode features a different car club or event from across the US, where passionate owner communities gather to share automotive experiences and embark on incredible adventures. Recharge Wrap-up: Mazda, Toyota earn environmental awards
Tue, Nov 10 2015Electric mobility nonprofit Drive Oregon has launched a campaign to invite the electric car industry to perform testing in the state. The campaign tells companies to, "Test Drive the Future in the Living Lab," citing Oregon's density of EV owners and charging infrastructure, varied terrain and climate, funding opportunities, and the state's technological reputation as the "Silicon Forest." Plus, as Drive Oregon Executive Director Jeff Allen, points out, "if you really screw things up here, it doesn't make as much noise as it would in California." Already, Jaguar Land Rover has announced plans for an Innovation Incubator in Oregon. Read more at Green Car Reports. Mazda's new paint system has won the Prime Minister's Award in the category of Manufacturing and Production Process at the 6th Monodzukuri Nippon Grand Award ceremony. Mazda's Aqua-tech paint system significantly reduces emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and CO2. The Aqua-tech system uses a water-based color basecoat and a urethane clear coat to reduce VOC emissions by 57 percent. It consolidates the painting process and reduces energy in paint-booth air-conditioning and flash-off processes to reduce energy consumption. It also allows Mazda to create such colors as Soul Red, which looks quite nice on the MX-5 Miata. Read more at Green Car Congress, and learn all about the Aqua-tech paint process from Mazda. 2016 Scion iA shows its face, for better or worse, in New York [w/video]
Wed, Apr 1 2015We have a theory that, among auto designers, there's something resembling Stockholm Syndrome. Designers spend so many hours looking at a single product that, after awhile, they can't help but fall in love with it, regardless of how bad it may look to everyone else. That might explain the appearance of the Scion iA, which while largely similar to the handsome Mazda2, replaces that car's attractive five-pointed grille with what could be described as a gaping maw. Fortunately, it's only the Scion grille that really causes any offense. The parts of the iA that have been left to Mazda designers are, as we said, rather handsome. That includes both the attractive rear and the Kodo-derived lines found in the tiny sedan's profile. The cabin, meanwhile, is well outfitted with standard equipment, including a seven-inch touchscreen display. Plastic is the dominant material, although the overall layout is logical and mostly attractive. Have a look at our live gallery of images of Scion's first-ever four-door sedan. Sports Sedan that Shouts Success All-New 2016 Scion iA Rolls Into New York With a Trunk - Brand's first-ever sedan with dramatically sporty look and agile moves - Estimated MSRP in the $16,000-range for well-equipped mono-spec model • High-spirited 1.5-liter engine; estimated 42 MPG highway - Choice of 6-speed stick shift or 6-speed automatic - Standard Low-speed Pre-collision safety system - Roomy cabin with premium amenities - 7-inch multimedia system with voice recognition NEW YORK, March 31, 2015 – Scion is expanding its line-up in more ways than one. In addition to adding a new vehicle to its stable, it's also adding its first-ever sedan, the remarkably sporty, yet very affordable, 2016 Scion iA. The Scion iA sedan joins the all-new 2016 Scion iM hatchback for a one-two punch in the subcompact and compact segments. The new sans-hatch Scion will arrive in dealerships this fall for an estimated MSRP in the $16,000-range. That's for a mono-spec model equipped with standard Low-speed Pre-collision safety system and 7-inch multi-media system with voice activation. Because Scion has a no hassle, no haggle Pure Price, customers walk out the door with the same price they saw posted in the dealership. "Dramatic" could be an understatement when describing the visual impact of the 2016 Scion iA. Beneath the daringly curved sheetmetal lies a tight, agile machine that re-defines "entry level." Call the design "class above," a term that applies throughout the car.
