Up for auction my extremely clean 1993 mazda rx7. I have owned this car for about 2 years and it has been a joy. The turbos boost properly and car drives great. I put about 12,000 miles on it since I have owned it. New motor and turbos installed at 100k back in 1999 have the almost 10,000 dollar receipt to prove it. The mechanics of the car are unmolested-no aftermarket bolt ons. I do have a stainless steel HKS downpipe that goes with the car, just couldnt bring myself to install it. I did install some cosmetic add ons though. They include R1 lip spoiler, JDM Kouki tailights, JDM Nardi Torino Leather steering wheel, JDM center armrest pad which replaces the ashtray , JDM stainless steel kick plates, smoked front blinkers and rx8 18 inch rims with tires that have about 800 miles on them. Also put a glass sunroof in it from a 1994 which still has the black out panel insert that you can't find anymore. I have a delphi boost guage in steering column which matches factory guages perfectly. Laser cut plastic floor mats to protect the original ones. I upgraded the bose stereo system with new speakers and a clarion CX501 stereo with blue tooth. Bose wave tube still installed and functional. I still have the original rims with good tires I will let go with the car. I have changed the oil myself. Installed new spark plugs wires and fuel filter. I have also installed cross drilled rotors with ceramic pads front and rear. I beleive the car has had a repaint in its life because there is no clear pealing off-which is common in these. There is a weird spot on left front corner on roof that looks like sap had got on it. Have to get close to notice it but its there. I was also told I need rear pillow ball bushings it makes a kind of popping noise in rear while breaking. It looks like to me there is slight oil seep out of the right rear corner of the oil pan. I have a lift in my garage thats how I noticed this. Also the interior is in excellent shape but the drivers seat needs some attention. Feel free to ask any questions I am sure I left some stuff out. I believe I have a very reasonable reserve based on the mileage of the car. It's a very nice looking daily driver but not perfect.    500 dollar deposit in paypal upon auction close. Cash or cashiers check in person. .

Mazda reports strong Skyactiv sales, plans to boost output 25%

Tue, 27 Aug 2013

Mazda is set to expand production of its Skyactiv engines after critical and commercial acclaim for the fuel-sipping powerplants. The Japanese manufacturer has a number of plans in the works to bump up production, with the first being a 25-percent increase in output from its Hiroshima, Japan engine facility.
Besides adding a new line, Mazda will modify the line that built MZR engines, a family of mills that includes the 2.3-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder found in the Mazdaspeed3 and the 2.0-liter found in the MX-5 Miata. The bump in production is just part of Mazda's goal of selling 1.7 million vehicles globally by 2016, with 80 percent of those vehicles expected to wear a Skyactiv badge.
Mazda also builds Skyactiv engines at a joint-venture facility with Ford, in Changan, China, while a Mexican facility will go online by March of 2014. Skyactiv engines currently power the Mazda3, Mazda6 and CX-5.

2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata Club long-term wrap-up | Farewell, fun friend

Fri, Aug 25 2017

About one year ago, we took delivery of a 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata. We made sure we got the sportiest version we could, the Club model (which includes Bilstein shocks, a limited-slip differential and a front shock tower brace) with optional BBS wheels and Brembo brakes. We also sprung for the appearance package to give our cute little roadster a modicum of aggression. It was a tad pricey at $32,835, but we enjoyed every minute of it. Well, almost every minute of it. It's not a perfect car, as it's loud and stiff on the highway, and we ran into an issue in which the top had to be replaced (under warranty). But minor grievances aside, just about everyone who drove the little roadster came back with a smile, especially when we took it to a racetrack. Below are final thoughts on the car from our editors. Senior Green Editor John Beltz Snyder: This car is about as car as any car gets. It's so car! That is to say, it's pure in its mission and in its effective execution as a driver's plaything. Its crisp steering, snickety six-speed manual gearbox, and rev-happy engine create the wonderful sensation that you're driving faster than the speedometer reads. Normal speeds never felt so heroic. The view out the front is fantastic, too, and the curves of the hood are nothing short of inspiring as they frame the road ahead. I don't care that it's noisy, jarring, and ergonomically weird. Old and British in spirit, it offers a level of engagement that's hard to find in a new car, especially for under $30,000. Anyone who has a Miata in their stable isn't lucky. They're smart. Senior Editor Alex Kierstein: I'm a bit embarrassed to think back to my first impressions about driving the MX-5 now that I've had so much seat time in this one. While I loved the idea of it as a throwback to the original NA Miata from the moment it was revealed, I was a bit turned off by how civilized it was. And how quick it was. No longer a momentum car, the new MX-5 seemed more forgiving of bad gear selection or a bad corner entry. I felt like something had been removed, a ragged edge, some everyday engagement. Well, a year on, and my feelings have changed. If you stop comparing it directly to the (slow, weedy, rattly, uncomfortable) first- and second-generation cars, it's a brilliant little roadster. I miss the raw edge less and enjoy the livability more — the raw edge was really just a lack of civility. A flaw that forced you to engage with the thing every moment.

Next Mazdaspeed3 could look this good

Fri, 28 Jun 2013

Mazda showed off its brand-new 2014 Mazda3 at an event in New York City earlier this week, and we have to say, at first blush, we're pretty impressed. It looks fantastic - like a smaller, hatch'd version of the already sleek Mazda6 sedan that went on sale earlier this year. And with a 200-pound weight reduction, efficient Skyactiv gasoline engines underhood and Mazda's usual focus on driving dynamics above all, we're willing to bet that the new Three will be a pretty decent steer.
Of course, being enthusiasts, we're already setting our sights on the next-generation Mazdaspeed3, rendered here by artist Theo Chin. To our eyes, it's not a very imaginative transformation, but is likely a spot-on rendering for what the next car will look like. And it's really, really hot.
While Mazda hasn't exactly confirmed that the new Speed3 will be coming, sources within the automaker have indicated that a third-generation version of the MS3 is under development. Thing is, the Japanese automaker wants to give the standard Mazda3 some time to grow in the market, so we might not see the new Speed3 until something like 2016, with a possible diesel version to arrive before then.
