This is a one-owner vehicle with a clean Autocheck report ! This Miata scored 55 on the Autocheck report, with other vehicles in this range at 13-37.  It runs and drives great! Idles correctly, around 600 rpm. Oil pressure moves up when the rpms go up; just like it did new, from the factory. The A/C is nice and cold. It has the original title (Fla.) with the Palm Beach Gardens address where it spent it's whole life. I acquired it from the 70+ year old man who bought it new. He had just gotten himself a 2013 retractable hardtop Miata....same color. He had moved this 1992 out of the garage and the new Miata in. Previously it was garage kept. It comes with the original M.S.R.P. ( Monroney Sticker ). The Autocheck report shows 0 accidents and one owner.  It has a brand new clutch, pressure plate and throw-out bearing installed, at a cost of $600.00. At 143,488 miles the original clutch had just begun to slip...so the job was done correctly....clutch, pressure plate and throw-out bearing! I have the work order/reciept with warranty, from my local repair shop. The a/c is working very well. The original tag brackets and spare cover are in the trunk. See the pictures. This vehicle  has been painted along the way, and the newer paint is superior to the original factory paint in my estimation. There is damage to the right rear tail lens, see the picture. This is an extremely original vehicle with just a couple of minor cosmetic issues. There are a few scratches on the right rear fender and a centerpiece for the wheels is missing. The engine is very clean on the inside, which a look down the oil filler will confirm. This vehicle has been in our warehouse and has no major leaks. All fluids have been checked repeatedly and continue to check full. The tires are good and the battery and the top.   eBay is Automotive Retentions' main outlet and your positive feedback is  important to us! You can be confidant this vehicle is exactly as described. As you can see we have 100% positive feedback.  Automotive Retention Systems is a small warehouse dealer located in Kelsey Station. 1335 Bay 8 Old Dixie Hwy.  Lake Park, Florida 33403  Let Rick Upton know of anything you may need to help in the process of aquiring this vehicle. Call Rick Upton to schedule an appointment to see and drive this vehicle....561-201-6050  Thanks !!! Mazda pits 2016 MX-5 Miata against the original

Fri, Jun 19 2015

Mazda has toiled admirably to keep the latest MX-5 Miata true to the spirit of the original. But just how close did the team come? To find out, the Japanese automaker brought two bookending examples of its iconic roadster down to a racetrack in Spain and put them in the hands of a couple of endurance racing drivers – Jade Paveley in the original, Owen Mildenhall in the new model. Whichever crossed the finish line first at the end of one lap would win. And because 25 years of progress wouldn't exactly make it a fair match, they gave the original a four-second head start. Watch the video above to see how it went down. Related Video:

Mazda expands scope of vehicles affected by Takata airbag recall to 330k

Fri, Dec 12 2014

Earlier this week a Reuters report indicated that Mazda was considering a nationwide expansion of its recall for vehicles equipped with Takata airbag inflators. The company has now confirmed said expansion, with the vehicle count jumping from 86,770 to 330,000 affected in the US. As before, the affected vehicles are Mazda6 and RX-8 cars from the 2004 to 2008 model years. Mazda reports that Takata has tested a "large number of inflators removed from Mazda vehicles" and not found any to be "non-compliant" as of yet. With that said, the company also reports in its statement that one 2005 Mazda6, located in Florida, has been identified as having had an "abnormal" deployment of the driver's side airbag. For what it's worth, though the company's statement references the Takata inflator issue as a proper recall, it is calling its own program of notification a "Safety Improvement Campaign" for the moment. Find the full, if brief, Mazda press release in the form below. UPDATED MAZDA STATEMENT REGARDING TAKATA AIRBAGS Dec 11, 2014 WASHINGTON, DC (December 11, 2014) – In addition to the actions announced on December 4, 2014, as discussed in a separate document, Mazda today announced the following steps in the Takata recall: Mazda will institute a nationwide Safety Improvement Campaign of 2004-2008 model-year Mazda6 and RX-8 models equipped with certain Takata airbag inflators. The nationwide Safety Improvement Campaign will cover the driver's-side airbag inflator, as Mazda has not made a safety defect determination at this time. This action will support us to gather additional parts for examination and to promote customer satisfaction and safety. There are approximately 330,000 vehicles included in this Safety Improvement Campaign in the United States So far, Takata has tested a large number of inflators removed from Mazda vehicles, and NONE have been found to be non-compliant at this time One vehicle – a 2005 Mazda6 located in Florida – has been identified as having experienced an abnormal driver's-side airbag deployment. Mazda has worked closely with NHTSA on this situation Mazda will participate in the independent, industry-wide joint testing program for Takata airbag inflators For history, on December 4, 2014, Mazda announced: It would expand the area of the high-temperature, high-humidity region recall to include the Gulf Coast states.

Mazda engineer explains why there won't be a Mazdaspeed3

Mon, Feb 4 2019

When Mazda put the new, beautiful Mazda3 on its stand at last year's L.A. Auto Show, it didn't take long before someone asked about a Mazdaspeed3. It took even less time for the Japanese automaker's new global boss, Akira Marumoto, to cite his company's small size and say, " [My] answer would be no." During first drives of the compact hatch last month, Road & Track asked Mazda development vehicle engineer Dave Coleman what Mazda would need in order to resurrect an MPS version. Coleman detailed a few reasons for the Mazdaspeed's continued hiatus, the prohibitive cost foremost. But another hitch is that the Mazdaspeed we'd get now isn't the Mazdaspeed enthusiasts would want. Coleman told the magazine, "If we had an engine on the shelf that would fit that properly, then we could talk." But the price to develop an engine and supporting hardware to do the car right isn't in the budget for an automaker of Mazda's size. Perhaps more important, though, present-day Mazda wouldn't — and couldn't — whip up another raw, rapid hatch. The competition, and consumers, have changed. "Even the Mazdaspeed 3, in its last iteration, came out as raw as it did due to the constraints," Coleman said, and today's market won't put up with that kind of buzzy, excitable uncouth anymore. The question is, even if Mazda had the money, do the buyers pining for a zoom-zoomier Mazda3 want the mature, composed hot hatch they'd be offered? Head over to Road & Track to read Coleman's take on the matter, and how he lays out the gap that would swallow any potential MPS as, "What you think you want is rawness. What you really want is responsiveness and directness." Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
