2008 Mazda Mx 5 on 2040-cars
Marion, Illinois, United States
2008 Mazda MX 5 Touring Hard Top. Near perfect condition! We bought this car in early spring from a dealer with 10000 miles on it. It was traded in by the son of the older gentlemen that had bought it new! He had transferred the title to his son? That is why the title exception showed up on the carfax. My wife works for the Illinois Sectetary of State we verified this. This is a no accident low miles car! We added a new Roadster Q exhaust ( nice mellow monza sound). The as new factory exhaust goes with the car! I curbed (Very slight ) one of the rear wheels at the bank. I have a new OEM wheel that goes with the car. I am very particular. We also added a few pieces of chrome trim to the car that are pictured. We installed a Burlwood dash trim kit (Not the cheap stuff ) , it looks great and really dresses up the car! The tires have over 60% tread left and it drives perfect. It has the 6 speed manual. It also has the Bose premium stereo. The car is the Retractable Hard Top model. This option is a great option to have! The car has the tire inflator in the trunk and all the manuals in the glove box. It also has the factory mud flaps and lower valances front and rear. I have owned numerous British sports cars over the years and decided to by this Mazda because it is so much better than the old british stuff. I am an avid collector and we bought this car for my wife and I to enjoy this summer. If you have not driven one you should befor you buy. You will be very impressed with the power, styling and fit and finish ! I am sending my 2008 Shelby GT to Shelby to have it upgraded to a GT/SC. That is why this car has got to go, for now. We will probably buy another next year , We really liked this car! My phone number is 618 841 2918 with any questions or to see the car in person. There is a lein at our credit union. We are experienced car people and can assist with a smooth financial transaction. We will assist with shipping arrangements but we encourage you to fly in and drive it home! This would be a great Christmas present for that special someone! ( Hint Hint) We are Kevin and Moni Shaffer call us with any questions.

Mazda Recalling Cars Due To Spider Webs In Engines
Sun, Apr 6 2014It seems that Yellow Sac spiders really, really love Mazda. Three years after Mazda recalled 52,000 Mazda6 sedans over spider webs obstructing the evaporative canister vent lines of 2009 and 2010 Mazda6 models, another recall has been issued for 42,000 more of the models built between 2010 and 2012 and equipped with the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. According to the automaker, there have been nine confirmed sightings of spiders in vent lines since the original recall. It seems that covers were applied at the factory to keep the arachnids from entering, but it hasn't quite exterminated the problem. A reflash of the ECU is required that "[changes] the logic behind how the car purges the charcoal canister during normal operation," says Jeremy Barnes, Director, Public Relations & Brand Experience at Mazda North American Operations. So far, Mazda has not recorded any fires, accidents or injuries due to this tangled mess of webs. Recall notices will be mailed out to owners later this month. Red Bull RX-7 goes drift crazy on New Zealand's Crown Range
Tue, 07 May 2013For the first time ever, the Crown Range, New Zealand's highest paved road, was closed off for the drifting pleasure of one man. That man is Mad Mike Whiddett, and the machine he's piloting is a heavily modified Mazda RX-7 sponsored by the energy-rich crew from Red Bull and powered by a 750-horsepower quad-rotor engine. There will be smoke. Lots and lots of smoke.
Mad Mike hits speeds in excess of 140 miles per hour over the course of the road's six and a half miles, which boasts 47 individual corners at over 3,500 feet of elevation. Scroll down for all kinds of fire-belching, tire-squealing and smoke-inducing action. Or, as Mad Mike himself puts it, "A dream turned into reality."
Living Life Large: Driving $2 million worth of cars in one week
Mon, Aug 24 2015Monterey Car Week has quickly become one of my favorite events of the year. There's something for everyone – classic car shows, modern concepts and new vehicle debuts, auctions, racing, and so much more. From a media perspective, there's also a chance to drive a ton of cars. Many automakers bring their latest wares out to Monterey for us to test during our limited free time, and it's a great opportunity to experience fantastic metal against a gorgeous backdrop. That's exactly what I did this year. Instead of flying into Monterey and being driven around, my journey started in Los Angeles and ended in Napa, and I managed to get behind the wheel of some $2 million worth of new cars. Some were old favorites, and many were new experiences. But looking back, this was one of the best weeks of driving I've had in years. Rather than try to come up with some common arc to tie these cars together, here are my notes on all the cars I tested in California earlier this month, presented in the order in which they were driven. 2016 Mazda CX-3 The CX-3 pictured here isn't the exact one I drove in California, but it's close. The only difference was color – my delivered-to-LAX tester wore Mazda's awesome new Ceramic hue (pictured below on the MX-5 Miata). I used the CX-3 to slum through crummy Los Angeles traffic for two hours on the way out to Santa Barbara, with a quick stop at In-N-Out Burger on the way for good measure. A lot nicer inside than I remember. Everyone praises Mazda for its excellence in engineering and design, but there's a lot to be said for the improvements in overall interior refinement. Quiet, comfortable, and well-equipped; the CX-3 made sitting on the 405 freeway a lot more pleasant. Not all that functional. I had a hard time fitting a week's worth of luggage for two people inside. The cargo area and rear passenger compartment were filled, with only enough room on top to see out the back window. A Honda HR-V would've swallowed all that luggage with plenty of room for more. So good to drive. Not surprising, since this wasn't my first time in the CX-3. I knew this CUV would be good on twisty roads, but on the highway it's really exceptional. Road and wind noise are minimal and the overall ride quality is a comfortable sort of sporty. This is definitely something I could drive every day – it's enjoyable during commuting and entertaining on more interesting roads.
